How do you guys think berean, gibbs, carter and even the new ones coming in will do and how that district will be played out?
Well both Berean and Carter are losing some dominate players and Gibbs will be getting a new coach. So next year could be a very even match up for these three teams, but who knows anything can happen.

I will have to agree with balboa on this. I believe that Alcoa will want this game more than CAK, so I say Alcoa 3-2.
-
I just want to say that this game was by far the best game I have ever been to. The emotions were high and the passion was undescribable! This two teams gave everything they had in this game. Absoulutely amazing! I wish CAK the best of luck and Carter you guys had such an amzing year, you guys never give up and thats what this sport needs. Carter had the most passion than anyother team and I want to congratulate you guys!

Is it true that Luke Mishu now has a broken leg? If so, this is indeed ashame because he is a great player and good kid. Without knowing for sure I don't want to make any out of line predictions, but without Luke Catholic may be in for a rough ride.
No the player that Catholic lost was Markian Sich, also a very talented player... I think that it will be a great game but I believe that Sportsnut has the score nailed, 2-0 Catholic

Thanks G, keep us up to date. Its a good thing that that tornado cell missed this area
Oh it hit the area pretty hard Sportsnut! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

I am going to go with Carter on this game 3-2. It will be a very tough game but i think Carter may pull it off. Good luck to both.
-
Gibbs at Carter, 5/6...6:00. The game will be played at the track instead of the football field.
Wow that will make that game interesting. I dont think that Carter will have any problem, but it will make it difficult for both teams.
-
Wow! How did I miss this thread? LOL, I guess being super busy at work is hurting my message board time. Congrats akula and G. Even with Brodus I would have been very impressed by that outcome. If you could go back to blah soccer for one more week, though, I would appreciate it. And G with the BIGTIME win over the Admirals. Great momentum for the tourney!
Seymour better watch out, Alcoa could come into the game on tuesday with some power. If I remember, Seymour lost to Bearden at the begining of the year by quite the margin. But they have gotten better since then and they lost to Alcoa 2-1 so who knows. It will be a good game to watch for sure. Good luck to both teams. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

i felt like a needed an upset somewhere /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />
Well if Berean keeps playing like they have been lately I dont think that they will have problem handling Gibbs. I heard that they lost to jeff. cnty tonight 2-1 in a close match up. But who knows anything can happen.

anyone know when these will be played?
If I heard correctly they will be played Saturday. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Semi's
Carter v Gibbs
Alcoa v Seymour
Final
Carter v Alcoa
Champions: Cater in a hotly contested one, should be a good tourney and a great final
Berean did however beat Gibbs 4-1, scoring 3 in a little over 20 min. Just putting that out there.

G, you have far to much time on your hands....LOL
Actually Cats chatter not squirrals
"When your cat sees a bird outside, you may notice it opening its mouth and making a weird, rapid series of meows. This is called chattering, and cats do it in response to any potential prey that they see, You usually will not see cats chatter if they are outside or somewhere they can actually get at the prey - then they are silent and will begin stalking it. "
Question, what was the score of the game? sorry to stop the commentary about squirrels and the noises that they make. ha

any predictions for this game? just curious
-
hes only a junior but i think maryville is sort of looking into him.
Oh ok, I was not aware that he was only a junior.
-
Cody Taylor from Gallatin alot of bad results but not alot of defense in front of him comes up with vbery clutch saves and some very good ones at that
I went to a goalkeeper camp with him this past summer in Maryville. From what I saw he is a very talented keeper.
Does anyone know if any colleges are looking at him?

I have to agree with the last couple of posts....while Robel is an excellent freshman, I would not say he is better than Adam or Nick. They are both going to be playing for the University of the Cumberlands next season and they are very solid players...I will say that Robel will be a top player in the district come junior and senior year, maybe even next year. Just because mark gets the majority of the goals for carter doesnt mean that the players around him are not quality players. Carter has a deadly offense with Nick, Adam, and Mark...Don't let size decieve you, Adam will nutmeg you, kick it off your head, run circles around you, tie your shoe laces, and put the ball in the back of the net before you can say "Easttnref"... /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> All that to say Adam is a good player...as is Robel from Seymour
hahaha, easttnref! HA! /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />
-
The only player from Carter better than Seymour's top 5 is Sherrod. The freshman from Seymour is better than Grigsby and cross
Just to let you know, Grigsby will trip Robel up several times with his footskills in that game. I say Robel will be on the ground at least once asking, "what just happened?" while Grigsby is putting it right past the keeper. I would put my money on Adam any day.

Are you serious? The game was closer than the score 5-1 (yeah right /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> ). Berean played Kick the ball long and run after it. Seymour had 5 players score (and used the whole bench). 2 were freshman. Possession had to be 70% Seymour 30% Berean. There was no doubt in anyone's mind at the game last night who was the better team. Seymour dominated!
I would say you are right though the game was close...if you take away the 1st, 3rd, and 5th goal.
The PK you speak of was after the Berean player had pushed in the back to get the ball in the first place (that is why the ref called it back ).
The goal Berean scored was a gift from the Seymour goalie.
Berean better be glad their goalie is their best player otherwise this game could have gotten worse than it already was.
And the ditch on the field? Come on Berean your field is concrete, and made for 6 year old Ayso girls. With a giant hill going down the center of the pitch.
Alright you Mr. Ref, are completely wrong about the Berean goal being a "gift" from the Seymour goalie. Their foward just knows how to continue playing hard until the ball is in the back of the net. from what I could see he dribbled right through the final defenders by himself and put the ball where it needed to be.
The center ref definitely called a pk before anything! He cant change a call like that after he has ran to the pk spot declaring a free shot.
I have also been on both fields and Seymour's football field has much more of a crown than Berean's. Almost as big as King's Academy.

Is this going to be a blowout or a close match up? anyone?
-
ok i guess i was wrong about that and i admit it and apologize... but running my mouth, really? did they lose to seymour? yes... carter? yes... Alcoa? yes... did they even beat gibbs?... the point is that they lost and there only goals came off of a ludicrous pk and free kick, and hand ball, seriously?... your welcome for the input by the way, im sorry it wasnt what you liked
Actually they did not get beat by gibbs. so we will just see how this year plays out.
-
Ok sportsfanatic, go back and look at the records! Berean vs. Alcoa, district tournament, DOUBLE OT! look it up and then you can run your mouth, but for now just stay out of it. thanks for the input though. it really didnt do any good
-
Mr. ref, obviously you werent paying any attention to the games that Berean played last year. I dont think you can blame Berean's field for the close games, at all. Like sportsnut said Berean played Alcoa at their place twice. If I'm not mistaken they took Alcoa into double overtime in the district tournament, and they were scored on in the final seconds of the game off of a handball that Brodus caught, dropped, and volleyed into the upper corner. Berean played their hearts out! I dont think you should count them out at ALL!
-
Well I know for sure that Berean graduated two impact players, but they have a new freshman that will really surprise some people. Then they have four seniors that are quite impressive. Berean should be a pretty good team again this year.
All I have heard about Gibbs is that they recieved new students in from the rezoning, and they were able to get quite a few new players. thats all have heard from them.
-
who does Seymour have that makes them such a threat this year?
Predictions for A/AA next year?

Berean has not recruited middle school aged kids come to their program. Its a small school and they struggle to get even the kids at their school to play soccer. It is growing but just not as fast as the other schools in the area.
