We here at NGHS want to wish Unicoi County the best of luck!! I think that it will come down to Unicoi and Goodpasture this year. I personally feel that Goodpasture WONT be taking home another State Championship. This year it will come to East Tennessee!!! Here's hoping to be there watching that championship game.

Don't underestimate 13aa or any of the other teams from the WEST...........They are all good. I take nothing away from any of the teams but these are gonna be some good games.

Westview is talented and can get the job done. Good luck to the WEST......Could care less about the rest of you.

Westview has a team full of them

 

Jenna Hazelwood - Best 2B in West Tennessee, no one can ever compare to her defense, hits from both sides of the plate

 

Shanna Chappell - Without the speed of a Brooke Thomas or Ivy Renfroe and still consistent over the last 3 years

 

Shaylon Robb - Sub .5 ERA and hits over .330 with some pop in the bat

 

Kelly Gaston - OF - Bunts better than anyone else I know of and continues to beat people with it and has been consistent at the top of Westview's lineup

 

Sam Giesler - Great overall player and could play almost any position and when it's a big game she takes care of business defensively and offensively

 

Ashley Bynum - 1B - over .400BA and performs day in and day out

 

 

Time to start giving this group more credit. Potentially 3 years in a row at the state, there has to be something to it. All of these other kids are worthy of the praise but it's time to start mentioning these kids as well. Someone prove otherwise.

Things could get tricky if Westview loses their last game and Crockett wins both. Tie Breaker may go to Crockett if this happens

Milan pulled their game out yesterday and are sitting good in the standings. I really thought Dyer County would beat them on Senior Day but that's why you play the game. Milan is by far playing the best ball and will take it to Westview today and don't look for them to slow down at Martin either. Dyer County should rebound and take care of business today and Obion too. Tournament just around the corner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

DCHS plays at home today with Milan @ 5:00 ,its Senior nite an that starts at 4:45,we have 3 Seniors Olivia Hendren,Amber Henry,Jessica Tickle all three girls have been starters on the Lady Choctaws Softball Team all 4 years,Olivia Hendren 3rd base,Amber Henry shortstop,Jessica Tickle catcher

First of all I want to start off by her leg and now Dyer County has had a girl tear her ACL along with some other injuries as well. I wish all of these girls a speed recovery.

With that being said I only see two District games on the menu for today. Here are my picks.

from what ive heard westview isn't as good as some of you think they are. Rest of district has seen their pitching enough now that things are evening out. Their bats arent what they were last year either.

In my opinion, Westview will compete for 3rd or 4th place in that district.

I know its still early but what does everyone think so far.........Who is the favorite to win the district. after a few weeks...........Is Milan as strong as what Im hearing and I saw where OC had a tough weekend against some very good opponents.

Please dont take this the wrong way, but my gosh if you have the pitching that both Huntingdon and TCA does why wouldn't you expect them to be in the championship game. If you put those pitchers on any other team in the tourney I would expect them to have good chance...............Yes, I am from Districe 13aa and I'm proud of how strong our district has become but I'm sure everyone would agree that a teams success is based largely on their pitching.

Didnt have a chance to get out this weekend and watch ball but I would expect both of these teams to have an excellent chance to get to the state tourney.

You must beat the best to be the best..............Nothing wrong with getting a few wins under your built and getting some work in but by midseason in my opinion you ought to be playing nothing but teams that will help advance you in to the postseason.

Well, it was obvious that the coaches blackballed Coach McCord from winning a much deserved Coach of the Year award. If Coach Haskins had any guts he should have walked over and given the Coach of the year award to Coach McCord. That's what really should have happened. I don't see how he can except an award after being beat 4 times by the same team. Coach McCord had to overcome much more than Coach Haskins in my opinion. How many coaches have lost 4 starters and come back the next year and win District Championship. This is really a joke. It's pretty obvious who the Coach of the Year is and that is Coach McCord. No one will make me believe otherwise.

1) Obion Co. ( Senior Loaded )

2) Milan ( Will have the hitting to get it done )

3) Westview ( only lost 2 or 3 starters )

4) Gibson Co. ( Will the pitching step up? )

5) Dyer Co. ( Back on track this year but will it be enough )

6) Dyersburg ( Pitching will be a tough replacement )
