Union city really has overcome a lot this year, as I'm sure many teams have, and this has obviously affected their offense. Lost incoming junior who scored over 1000 points in two years, lost another part time starter who was scoring about 8 points per game for disciplinary reasons, ACL tear to Reaves in Saturday's substate game definitely affecting her since she didn't even play in the second half today, and Reedy was in the hospital Saturday and overnight Tuesday night. They never use any of it as an excuse, and I want to commend the kids on their effort. Our community is very proud of what these kids mean to us, and we are hopeful for just two more wins this year.

They have had a great season. Most including myself thought when they lost fair it was over. They should be very proud of this season. Good luck.

Coach of the Year - John Glisson of Bradford.

Yep, you called it.

Going tonight with UC by 8 and Humboldt by 5 tonight setting up a SF and LC consolation game and UC and Humboldt in the championship.

UC may blow out SF. But if the team that played Bradford shows up it could be a good game. The little point guard (#4 I think) is a hard stop when he is on his game.

#4 for SF had a great game. He is the a junior. Good ball player

SF pulled away the last four minutes. It was back and forth the whole game. Bradford had a player go the whole second half with a nasty cut wrapped up. He had to come out at times because of blood leaking out. SF had a player in similar condition. It was a hard fought game.

Congrats to SF. They played a great game. Congrats to Bradford on a better season. It was a close game until about 4 minutes.

Looking forward to the Bradford game. They have had a much improved year. Good luck to both teams.

WOW. Another shocking win last night. Bradford has had a great season. The Coach has done a great job. He has got the most out of his team.

John Glisson is the best coach in the district. Give him the Union City talent and they win a Gold Ball this year and the next two years.

I'm not trying to diminish other coaches. But he has done something special here. Bradford was the team you wanted for homecoming. Now they are a solid mid teir team in 14a, which is one tough district.

they are playing better. The coach is a solid coach. He seems to get the most out of his team. They have improved every year he has been there. They may be out the first game in district. But I like what he has been doing.

And also add a hot Bradford team in that mix as they are 4-7.

Bradford is 10-3 in their last 13 games. With some quality wins.

Bradford wins again. I may have underestimated them a tad.

My honest opinion, if I was playing Union City, I'd pack down into a 2-3 zone which is what I'm sure most teams will do to Union City this year. I was at the state tournaments last year and saw Union City against Jackson Co. and Union City lacked an outside shot, thus resulting in scoring less than 10 points in one half, and that was with Amber. Not saying this team hasn't gotten better shooting from the outside over the summer, but if they haven't improved on perimeter shooting, you won't win a state championship. I hope Union City does have a great season and a great run in Murfreesboro though.... just my 2 cents on it all.

If you have the talent a box and one would be my plan. But you are going to need a good defender to stay with Fair.

How is Fair. Will she be playing this year. I really enjoy watching her. Hope she is fine.

UC. I said it last year. The fair girl is the real deal. Bradford is way down this year. But i think the new coach will get them up in a couple years.

Carnation still has her scholarship to Bethel and they still want her to come play! Carnation will join the team next year (2013) in august!!!

My bad. I was talking to her coach and he was thinking she may join his team in december.

I didnt know that.Hearing some things.Hope Nation is still going but not sure.

Nation should be joining the team in december.

Gonna miss watching her play.Same with Street.Any word with Street signing.Looks like she would be able to play basketball and run track for someone.

Street signed with Bethel a few weeks back. She will be there with Nation.
