  1. ive always heard good things about CAK talent wise they usually have pretty good teams year in and year out. the addition of coach Pharr and his knowledge of the game and what he can do for the guys over at CAK makes them a dangerous team nobody should sleep on

  2. I agree with Farragut & Powell. I know Gibbs returns their strong pitching, and in AA should go far into the State Tourney this year. Seymour is always good, but remember they have jumped to AAA this year, could be a factor.

One left off is Sevier Co. This should be one of the better SC Teams in school history and should make some noise in the IMAC.

Broke school record in wins last year, has one of the best hitters in the area in Zach Flynn and will have 5 senior starters that have all played since they were Freshman. We have already scrimmaged Catholic & Bearden beating both. We did not face eithers ace, but we faced their best hitters & everyone else on their pitching staff.

I am pretty sure Catholic & Bearden would agree with me on this.

OK I AM PRETTY SURE THE ONLY REASON WHY SC BEAT BEARDEN AND CATHOLIC IS BECAUSE BOTH TEAMS PITCHED A DIFFERENT PICTCHER EVERY INNING IF THEY DIDNT SC WOULD NOT HAVE BEATIN THEM,NOT EVEN CLOSE. BEARDEN AND CATHOLIC HAVE PRETTY SOLID CLUBS THIS YEAR AND WE WILL SEE WHAT HAPPENS IN THE REG. SEASON!

rabbits i wouldnt say that the games wouldnt have been close. last year when bearden and sc were in the same district sc beat bearden at their place. bearden has lost a lot from last years team and sc has returned all but 2 starters. ask any coach in the area and they will all tell you that sc is very capable of beating both teams and when they scrimmaged sc dominated all areas of the games they played with both bearden and catholic

  3. While Bearden has played well in Knoxville this season and exceeded most expectations, I still think Farragut is the team to beat in the Eastern part of the state. I would have FHS number 2 in state and BHS number three in the state. Not a bad district to have two teams ranked that high!!

Knoxbball 3 i agree with you i dont think Bearden is the number 2 team in the state.. Farragut won their district yet again this year BUT im not taking anything away from Bearden they did beat Farragut twice this year. I've seen both teams twice this year and definitely believe Farragut is the better team out of the two. Good luck to both teams this post season should be very interesting!

  4. How can SC be even with Bearden and South Doyle when they lost 3 of the 4. I agree that anyone can lose on any given day, but goods teams don't lose on as many "given" days as SC has this year. I also agree that the tourney is all that matters, but SC better turn it around in a hurry if they hope to make any kind of noise in the district tourney, especially after losing tonight to WB and with Farragut left to play. Best wishes on the rest of your season!!

well from the way it sounds you werent at any of the games. the south doyle games were both close both teams played good games but sd got timely hits when they needed them thats all that separated the two teams. Bearden i believe isn't too much better than SC. the first game both teams had less than dazzling performance BUT SC got the hits when they needed them and won the game. the second time they played SC had an error filled first inning and gave up 5 runs which pretty much cost them the game. If you were at the games you would know that there isn't much separating these teams

  5. The Copeland kid has been around for a few years. Had some kind of surgery as a freshman or sophmore. Apparently just now getting back to form. According to KNS, he is 6-0 and Potter is 6-1 for Bearden. Seems to be a good lefty (Copeland), righty (Potter) combination.

Are you sure Copeland is 6-0? Cause at the beginning of the season He had one of his more forgettable outings and Sevier County hit him pretty hard. I'm not exactly sure if he got a no decision or if the guy that came in relief for him took the loss. I'm just curious on that one

  6. Hey theflash003, what happened to SC down the stretch? All the SC fans on here said they were playing for 2nd place. I just looked and they have a losing record in district. Not trying to get you all worked up, just wondering what happened, injuries etc.

i'm not worked up its understandable.. we decided to have some bad games at the wrong times. SC is at least even with Bearden who they split with and SD who just got hits when they needed them against us to win both games. SC can play with everybody in the district and is very capable of beating them. The funny thing about baseball is ancan lose on any given day. But at the end of the day we aren't where we want to be and we know it. All that matters is we play our best baseball when it really matters in the tourney.

  7. South Doyle beat Sevier Co tonight 3-0 nothing. It was a very good game both ways. The two are very closely matched. Should be a good district tourney matchup. What about the other scores in the district tonight?

  8. I don't believe you young man. It sounds like you played for Coach Downs, and sat the BENCH for Coach Guinn. If he won with talent alone, it sounds like from some of your other posts, he won with out you on the field. I have personally seen and observed Coach Guinn's practices at AC and know that what your spewing is totally untrue. As with any HS team, many factors play a part in practice. For instance how many games that week, how healthy is the team, what kind of depth do they have. All HS coaches do their coaching of "little things" in the preseason and off season. Maybe you played another sport, or simply just layed out or didn't work very hard. If you simply won on talent alone, why is it that several players from AC who played for Guinn went on to play in college. If they were not taught the game as you accuse, colleges would not want them. Maybe you were a little behind "knowing the game" and needed someone to give you extra special attention to catch you up to all the other more talented and knowledgeable players. Guys like you are amazing! If you do good, it is because you practiced hard and daddy taught you everything, if you fail, it is because the coach didn't teach you anything. Always someone else's fault. Maybe you got to play when coach Downs came in because the other players playing in front of you graduated or moved positions.

Also, in case you haven't figured it out, talent is what it takes to have great teams, and talent is what makes ANY coach a good coach. Maybe in Guinn's case, it wasn't recruiting, but rather TALENT EVALUATION!

fan i have a question. how is it that you can be in two places at once? you watched Guinn at AC and you watch Guinn at PF. sounds a little weird to me most people i know wouldn't drive an hour almost everyday of the week to watch a team play. and how do you know so much about Guinn unless a) you are Guinn himself or /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" /> your a family member. nobody knows that much about any coach like you do about Guinn. what i dont get is how you say all this stuff about how he had all that talent at AC. why would somebody leave a school with a lot of talent? granted PF is a school with a lot of talent but they didnt have as much talent as AC did when he left. and from what i hear about Guinn and his coaching job at PF is he doesn't do near as good a job as Cannon and Traywick did when they built that place and all the talent they had. the seniors this year prob didnt play much as freshman bc Cannon and Traywick had so much talent there. I'm not taking anything away from those seniors at PF but from what i've heard they all pretty much say Cannon and Traywick are much better coaches than Guinn. I would honestly put Traywick in this discussion bc last year he won coach of the year in arguably the toughest district in the stat in class AAA with a team nobody really expected to do much of anything at all. And this year he has them fighting for the right to host part of the district tourney. Traywick doesn't have the most talented team at all and he wont be afraid to admit bc he has and does on a regular basis. But what he will say is he has one of the most dedicated and hard working teams around. those kids are committed to him and trust his judgement. I'm sure if you ask the coaches around SC's district they won't deny that he is a good coach and that he will take SC to places it has never been before in baseball.

  9. OnP, no doubt that SC will be tested this week, top 2 teams in district and seymour to boot, that is pretty tough. I guess we will find out alot about SC this week. I hope they don't get rained out, cause most want to see how SC pitching can handle playing 2 really good teams in 3 days as opposed to playing 1 really good team every now and then. Should be fun to watch. Keep us posted OnP.

Fan just to let you know Sevier Co is number 2 in the district behind Farragut.. but yes this is a very tough week for

SC. Tonight saw a terrible first inning from the bears and Bearden took advantage of some errors we made. SC couldn't recover from the inning and lost 8-2. They are still second in the district with Farragut coming in on Wednesday if the rain will allow the teams to play.. The Seymour game is big but we are more worried about district games right now bc we are fighting for the right to host the district tourney. The Seymour game will be very interesting and should show everyone who is the better team out of the two.

  10. Pigeon Forge wasn't amazing 2 years ago. They had a terrible coach (Mike Bramblett) and they also had who everyone called Coach "Harveston". Again... not a good coach!!! I was at that game when Pigeon Forge lost to Sevier County. They lost because Bradley Harveston talked Coach Bramblett out of pulling him from the mound and then Bradley threw up a Meat Ball to a Freshman and he hit it off the wall and beat PF. Pigeon Forge has a far superior team this year compared to years past. And a great Coach!!! Pigeon Forge beat Farragut last year in Knoxville. Something Sevier County couldn't do. The PF team is even better this year than last year! PF has the toughest schedule in the County. Farragut, Bearden, Seymour, Murfreesboro Oakland, Baylor, Unicoi County, Greater Gwinnett, and it goes on and on. We are AA playing AAA teams. Why do you think the TSSAA is re-aligning the districts next year? To make the districts more competitive! Sevier County doesn't play a tougher schedule than PF. Pigeon Forge is playing in the Sportsbelle Classic this year instead of playing at Smokies Park because there are better teams in the Sportsbelle Classic than what is at Smokies Park. Anyways... good luck to all Sevier County teams!!!

I was at that game when SC beat PF and PF didn't lose because Bradley Harveston begged the coach to keep him in Harveston begged the coach to take him out.. that's from sources who talked to him about it. Their coach that year was an idiot for keeping him in and SC took full advantage of it.. and SC tried to play PF this year at Smokies Park and PF didn't wanna play with them because they didn't want a repeat of two years ago. Granted the Sportsbelle Classic will have a few good teams in it im not taking anything from that but SC tried like crazy to get PF to play them at Smokies and PF wasn't having any of it. And if PF thinks they are better than SC then i promise you SC has no problem showing them that they are the better team out of the two.

  11. yeah he has a wee bit of an anger problem.. and he acts like everything should be called his way just because he is a great player. i dont like his attittude he could learn some discipline sometime and just play the game of baseball without complaining about somebody throwing the ball up and in on him thinking that everybody is trying to beam him everytime he comes up to bat

  12. OnP217, I wasn't meaning to call you out, just stating an obvious injustice, which is that SC don't schedule PF. Coach Traywick is a good coach, and is doing a good job. It's a game that would be a great rivalry for that community. PF and SC have 2 different scheduling issues. PF can't help who is in their district, so they schedule very tough non-district games. On the other hand SC plays in a tougher district, but schedules very weak non-district. It's all about perspective. Farragut, Bearden, and even South Doyle are in your same district, but they schedule much better non-district opponents. My point is that if SC wants to take the next step and become a top shelf program, they must start scheduling better competition, and quit losing to weaker opponents . I wish SC a very successful season, but to be the considered in the conversation with Seymour and PF, they first have to take care of district business, and start playing some other tougher teams. PF and Seymour both have a few weak non-district games, but the tough tourneys and other opponents more than make up for a couple weak ones. SC schedules easy to "hopefully" be above .500 on the season. Good luck the rest of the way.

ok so fanfromafar here is a point for you.. when PF was amazing two years ago they played a SC team that wasn't very respected by anybody and LOST to them at the smokies. PF went in to that game thinking they were gonna roll SC and they lost. and since then SC has only gotten better and PF is not as good as they used to be.. they are good no doubt but nowhere like they used to be. and seymour is way down this year from their normal teams. and last i checked the tough non-district games you say PF schedules.. uh SC still plays better teams and wins. Most people would say scheduling collierville for a non-district game would be a tough one but i guess a team that is one of the best in the state isn't tough at all to you. yeah SC doesn't play the best competition out there non-district but they still play in probably the toughest district in the state and they are in 2nd place right now.. thats not good at all. SC plays seymour twice this year and they will be close games but SC is the better of the two teams. and it would be a great rivalry with PF and SC to pla a home and home series every year but you cant always get what you want. dont call SC out sayin all this junk about their scheduling bc whether the teams are high level or not any team can play on any given day and be great. dont knock SC for their schedule when they still play a tougher schedule than PF. i hope they do well in all honesty but dont talk about them unless you have seen them play and know how good they really are

  13. haha who cares about what any poll says...farragut is the most overated team i have ever heard about!!!

ok so you should never be allowed to post anything on here ever again.. Farragut is not overrated at all they are a GREAT baseball team i have played against them and they are everything they are hyped up to be i dont know of a better hitter around than cade stallings and curt powell is a machine on the bases good look to anybody trying to throw him out.. oh and i dont even think i have to mention the name delmonico those three brothers are amazing and nick could turn out to be the best of them all... oh and didnt they send two guys to d1 schools last year? and have at least two more going this year? yeah that souns really overrated you should think before you say things sometimes /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  14. cneagles13, 154 posts from charger81.... WOW What a veteran!!!! Why are you taking up for him when we both know it didnt make sense? I wish that even you, who is apparently much smarter than me could explain that post to me.. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Yeah i would like to hear about what those two blowouts of Claiborne were like Monday night, and what is everyone's opinion of the kid that hit two bombs for SCHS?

that would be zach flynn... ive never seen somebody stroke the ball the way he does.. btw that lenoir city game was terrible defensively for the bears they are WAY better than what they showed.. they beat bearden last night and still didnt bring their A game. Flynn is a stud he makes plays in crunch time offensively and defensively. Look out for SC this year they should have a great team

  15. Too early to really tell. SD loaded with Juniors and Seniors. They had 4 seniors last year. GO Kees!

well hopefully that can bounce back from that terrible season they had a year ago.. i think maryville just had a really bad game bc from what i can remember from last year they weren't too bad... but they def werent great. the only player i know of from sd is kirkland and im surprised he didnt transfer schools to be with a better team no offense to sd but kirkland needs help on that team really bad

  16. collierville should have an easy time against bearden friday night... the dogs are down this year and didnt impress me at all.. the farragut game will be an exciting one i think that farragut will pull it out i dont think i have seen or heard about anybody with an infield even as close to farragut's. stallings powell and delmonico are studs and they can all hit the ball very well.. it will be very interesting to see both teams this saturday
