i agree with you that central is the wildcard. they did win some huge games this year and i think coach carter must have a pretty good group of senior players. should be great games. lots of talent to go around

you know the bad thing is that there is an umpire on here calling people DA. The Owls will make the trip over to Red Bank today has district play starts up. I believe Atkins is throwing for the Lions and Baugh for the Owls. tomorrow is a toss up, i believe Walden is still out with a cut on his hand, and The Owls have 5 guys who are capable. What is everyone's thoughts?

Walden will be starting tuesday he is back and has been for a couple of weeks just getting his legs under him

Ooltewah won a close thriller at McMinn County 11-10. Owls hit three bombs and Colby Cox came up clutch with a two-run HR in the top of the 7th to put the Owls ahead for good. Defense struggled a little, which didn't help the pitchers. The Owls made alot of agressive mistakes on the bases, but i'm sure Hitch will have them running bases all practice tomorrow! Good win for the Owls!

Red bank is loaded but I think it would be a great match up between red banks pitching and the highly overrated Kyler Burke until he goes deep time and time again..

So what wins is pitching and defense not just average or hitting. Its so easy to get under ooltewah peoples skin. That's the problem with that place. U all talk a great game but have never let the coaches do their job.guess what its already starting this year obviously.clean it up

Here's the thing. We've seen the scenario before when everyone comes out of the gate singing Ooltewah's praises.pitch Of course I'm an Ooltewah fan, and as an alum, they're my team! But, let's see a few weeks of the season. It's so hard to tell anything after pre-season games...even after early season games.

 

The Red Bank - Ooltewah series will be good, and it'll come down to who shows up on each night. These matchups are where I wish we could District teams play each other 6 or 8 times. 3 to 4 games in a back -to-back series is the best way to determine the better "team." BUT, we don't have that...so it comes down to who shows up on which nights.

 

Red Bank has the proven pitching, but you can only ride 2 or 3 guys so far. This series will come down to offense. Especially in the first game when Baugh pitches for Ooltewah. Whoever swings it will win. And trust me OwlsuWish, 90 miles an hour just means it goes back out that much faster. At the AAA level, 90 is good, but it doesn't win championships. I'd rather have an average pitching staff and a better than average lineup than a better than average pitching staff and an average lineup...in high school at least.

 

Who knows...a lot can happen between now and then...I can't wait to get out there and see each team! That's the best level of baseball in this city by far!

Ooltewah took care of Ringgold this evening in 5 innings, 11-1. Baugh threw a complete game. Reed had his teeth knocked out, then hit a three run bomb.

teeth knocked ? probably was running his mouth. i agree coach hitch is great but the parents are the problem with ooltewah. glad that beat ringgold but to bad ringgold didn't throw there studs that are very good. good luck to ooltewah. but most of all good luck to hitch he is the man as a coach hope the parents dont ruine it for him like they have every other coach.

Those will be huge games! Pitching wise RB w/ Walden & Atkins will be great. Ooltewah also has very good pitching in Garret Baugh who is a junior. I'm sure they have someone else but i couldn't name another pitcher. Juniors Brady Reed and Andrew Mayfield are great hitters and Zarzour is an excellent fielder/player. Good luck 2 both

ooltewah yeah tired of it grow up and figure out when was the last time you won district or made it out of district. hmmmmmm. or who put you out the last couple years . lets think about that one.

red bank is the favorite in my opinon. they really are loaded people just don't know yet get ready for it. ooltewah good luck . good team just way overrated i havent seen anything close to pro material in the last 5 years other than mcdade and the highly overrated kyler burke. he is doing really well in pro ball huh.
