  1. Can coaches make summer ball mandatory according to TSSAA? Harpeth has not had a summer team in years, if ever. Why is it mandatory now? This "commitment" thing is going too far!

    and $250.00.

I guess I am missing something.

I would love to set down with you and have a resonable conversation about high school baseball. You are missing a ton in my opinion. Even though my son is graduating and moving on I want to see this program get better every year and playing year round is pretty much what a player as to do to get better let alone a team. These kids need as much playing time as they can get if they have any dreams of playing at he next level or even just competing for a starting position. Harpeth hasn't had a summer program since Frasier left because we haven't had a coach dedicated to the program till now.

If your child wants to play high school baseball and YOU don't want this kind of commitment, you should consider transferring him to another school that doesn't take baseball serious. Please call me lets talk parent to parent.

  2. Well opiniondad if you haven't figured it out by now your opinion would be better off kept to yourself. Non of us TRUE HARPETH parents want to hear your BS. How many hours have you spent working on our facilities? Apparently not enough to understand it is a team effort. If your baby is having to work to hard go back to rec ball.

  3. Whats up with all of Harpeth's players being required to be early and stay late for field prep, batting practice, varsity games, jv games, and cleanup. Will they get a break. Now Jones is giving them all a varsity jersey. What a slap in the face. I thought he was gonna have two separate teams so it did not turn into last years problem of no jv games. I am getting tired of him changing his mind all the time. STICK TO WHAT YOU SAY PLEASE!!!

Here is "Whats up"...I have 22 guys committed to me and this program. We are one team and they all deserve a jersey, jv or varsity playing time, and recognition for turning things around in less than a year. I/We now do things in a first class manner that includes commitment at a level this team has never been asked to provide. This includes field preparation, batting practice, all games, cleanup, fund-raising, and attitude. Quit trying to tear us down. IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT TAKE YOUR SON AND LEAVE.(and quit hiding behind this screen name)(yes, i am calling you out, step up)

    COACH JONES

I am in 100% agrrement with Coach Jones. Quit trying to tear us down, if you would jump on board you would see that the boys are having FUN playing baseball. If you don't like leave and if you are afraid to speak to Coach Jones then come see me. My screen name doesn't hide who I am. With that said you are now called out twice!!!

  4. Just my opinion but... the administration is a big part of the problem. By giving the parents an opportunity to circumvent the coach. I would expect the coach and the admin would present a united front to the parents, it's the only way to make it work. If the admin has a problem with something the coach is doing that should be dealt with privately. Wonder if Ms. Emery will be calling pitches soon... This micromanagement has got to end. You hire a guy to do the job, let him do his job his way with full authority on the baseball field day to day. If he's not doing his job, fire him and she can coach third base. How many of our administrators have any background or knowledge of playing athletics or team sports in general.

Jones has come in and restored Harpeth's pride and discipline in a short period of time. This may be part of the problem, we have come so far in so short of a period of time. Most of these players have not seen discipline and structure on a baseball field since Little League,( if they had a good coach). The only ones that came in prepared are the freshman who played for Pomeroy last year.

Parents need to figure out quickly that, this is the guy, and the program, their children need. Teaching them to whine and quit will not help them develop into the men they all hope to someday be. Every time we get a decent coach ie. Fraser, Jones, a few parents feel their kid is being mistreated and cry foul. Grow up, get over yourself and take the blinders off to see the bigger picture. It is a process, you have to give it time! I can assure you this program is on the way up, with or withou you!

I couldn't have said it better myself. The only part I disagree with is the part about only the freshmen came in prepared. There are a few(4 or 5) that have played summer or fall ball with teams that were structured and disciplined. Let the coach coach and the rest will fall into place. If we loose a few players along the way then so be it. I just wish my son could have had coaches like coach Jones and Pomeroy his entire high school career. We are on our 6th coach since starting middle school ball, programs and players can not develop when the schools have a different coach each year. I hope the school is able to keep Coach Jones and Coach Pomeroy around for years to come for everyone sake.

  5. They're still in Williamson County... /huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" />

They opted to go back to the region south of I-40 with East Hickman, Hickman, Lewis, Spring Hill, Page, Marshall and Giles. Don't ask me why. Travel I suppose. I know they requested the move to that district just as Camden did to this one. That's going to be a tough region for them to compete against in all 3 of the traditional sports. Really, Fairview has only been in 11AA the last 4 or 5 years. Fairview, East Hickman and Sycamore are all easy drives and made to order rivalries for Harpeth. I hope they are all on the schedule every now and then.

Still in Williamson County, thats great:)

  6. nothing here yet..Whats up with #25 as far as playing this summer?Sure was good to see my old buddy Jay Jay tuesday night thought he looked to be doing real good.

He's playing for an American Legion team Post 19 out of Columbia. I'll let JJ know what you said.

  7. yea mator tomator you knew what i meant. so i hear harpeth had a couple of suspensions over the weekend.i hope there so called ace wasn't one of them.........like i said we don't want no 3 or 4 pitching on wednesday.

Look dude you are somewhat of an idiot. You guys maybe our 3rd district game by Wednesday so who knows we may pitch a jv pitcher against you guys. I can't predict who is gonna win but I can predict we aren't just gonna give the game away because of your smack talk.

  8. yes harpeth and station camp was a good game, harpeth made some mental mistakes in the field that hurt. lets hope they can get their heads cleared and come back for a win today against dyers county at 3:30.

game time changes at harpeth, games now start at 4:30

Clarksville NE was also throwing a reliever, and their catcher who has not pitched but 3 innings all year. They were average, but threw strikes.

dude i wasn't putting your pitching down they did pitch well, i was complementing your sticks most of all.

  9. at the good day to play tournament harpeth and station camp both lost to clarksville. Then harpeth lost to station camp 2-1 in a great game.

Clarksville's pitching was average, they had the basehits and that is what it takes to win.

  11. Harpeth beat MLK tonight in a sloppy game. 12-8 or something along those lines. MLK has gotten better since the first matchup. Harpeth needs to put these type of teams away early. MLK pitching wasn't all that. Harpeth didn't pitch their 1 thru 3 guys. If you do get a chance to play at Seven Oaks Park they have the best concession stand in the midstate and I love the old knothole fencing in the outfield with the little rise in right field. Lavender Field has a lot of character. I always look forward to spending a little money in South Nashville for some primo grub at the ballpark. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Big week next week for the Indians. They're playing at least one every day Monday through Saturday. Some of the clubs are selling Boston Butts during the Good Day to Play tournament for $25 each for around 5 lbs of barbeque. PM me for your pre order or take your chances at getting one next Thursday and Friday.

I wonder if we could get a milkshake maker for our concession stand

  12. I think my point's been made. Sadly. They don't hold a candle.

I'm talking about the quality of smack talk on the 11AA boards in 06 dude. Your first post about the skinned infield was pretty good. Much better than Catfish's weak attempt with 'Puffing the Magic Dragon'. H.R. Puffnstuff would have been a much funnier weed reference. I know, it's way over your head. Google is your friend.

For example, when Coach Farmer was texting young coeds and Sycamore had the red face, Harpeth's student section suggested 'Hot for Teacher' and 'Don't Stand so Close to Me' for songs that the Wareagles should come out to. Now that's funny stuff right there. I don't care who you are.

I take back my compliment. You need to complete your Cheatumacounty edumacation before you can hang. If then.

Hey KS, I think maybe SHS has been puffing. I believe they maybe related to cheathamfan.

  13. Creek Wood beat Cheatham 11-0 in a game in which the Red Hawks had superior pitching, hitting, and defense. Enough said. Creek Wood is now 3-3 in the district while Cheatham is 2-2. Apparently Harpeth has rescheduled a game that they earlier forfeited to the Cubs. There was no rain or snow or field issues on that day. Players puffing the magic dragon is all there was......... It is a shame that the game was not played and it should have been a Cubs victory if HHS refused to play.

You got some false info, the game was cancelled not forfeited
