  1. havent been on this site in awhile, but i have to comment on this game! this was the first time i saw both teams this year. here is how i saw it in a nutshell.

farragut came out quick and was confident. bearden looked alittle shocked and realized it wasnt gonna be easy. bearden really didnt have many chances in the first half besides throwins. first goal was a through ball and bearden thought it was offsides. second goal was pure effort. the ball was bouncing out for a goal kick, and farragut headed it back into play in front of the goal, and then headed it in. 2-0 at half. bearden scored in the first 5 min. the ball was crossed, then flicked to the back post. wide open with noone marking him. next 25 min was all bearden. chance after chance. farragut hung in there though. hand ball with less than 5 min left gave bearden a free kick right outside the 18 but it hit the outside of the post. great rivals, great game. just what everyone was hoping for!

  2. Number 2 team in the nation? I think Farragut is way overrated. I just watched them play against Oak Ridge and they were lucky to pull off the win. They got a lucky pk in the first half which if they had not had they would have lost. Plus there goal in overtime was pretty weak and Oak Ridge almost tied it up with a free kick that hit the post. I feel they will are not the team everyone thought they were and will most likely get knocked out of state pretty early. Definitely not the number 2 team in the nation.

You sound like a sore loser parent/player/or fan from Oak Ridge. What was the shot count? :thumb:

lucky pk and they would have lost if they didnt get it? weak goal in overtime?

21 have tried. 21 have failed.

  3.

The major thing is though....do these new school have quality coaches?? Bearden does? Farragut really doesn't...but he seems to do something right. Catholic or Knox West?? Quality coaches are the key!

Farragut got a new head coach of the program in 2002. State Champions 2003,2004,2007,2009. As you say, he seems to do something right! :roflol:

Whats your credibility to make such a BOLD statement? Do yourself a favor and ask Eric Turner if "Farragut has quality coaching" ! :excl:

  4. There are some big games this week! We finally get to see........

    :thumb:

    3/23 -

    Hardin Valley @ Bearden

    Maryville @ Catholic

    Science Hill @ Farragut

    Centennial @ Father Ryan

    3/25-

    Bearden @ Catholic

    Webb @ Farragut

    Maryville @ LC

    3/26-

    Ravenwood @ Cleveland

  5. DeKalb has 5 weeks of conditioning before tryouts. That usually weeds out the ones who don't really want to be there. Like other rural schools we don't have a great deal of soccer outside of the high school team, so we look for dedicated, goal-minded, hard working, young men that want to be successful. Generally, we have to cut a few that just don't have the ability to help the team, but like others have said, we feel the important thing for us to do is build strong, hard working, dedicated young men that are going to be successful in whatever they do. On a side note, we have an athelete that has moved to our school from DB, and he said that you have to make 3 miles in 15 min. to make their team.... WOW!!!

That is the worst thing i have ever heard. Your name implies that your a coach......think about what you said!

By the looks of DB's schedule(posting the whole state tourny), and them having to make 3 miles in 15 minutes, they will be national champions !!!

    :x:x:x:x

  6. I agree that Alcoa has many more players that should have been listed. The coaches All-state team should clear that up.

As for Stinton of Farragut. Every coach/player in E.Tenn knows how powerful he is. There has not been a midfielder like this to come through in quite sometime. He is one of the best (if not the best) in the state...hands down.

What i also thought was interesting was hendersonville gets knocked out the first round of the state tourny, and land three players on all state (sportswriters poll).

Then, Oak Ridge lands 2 (as many as Farragut) and they didnt even get out of their region semi's!

(Farragut doesn't give up a goal in the tournament, and loses to 1 TN team all year.)

I would like to how they came up with this! /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

All are great players that were listed, but someone dropped the ball for Farragut and Alcoa !

    Both coaches were expected..... Class acts! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  7. "CBHS was the best team in Tennessee this year. Ask players from Oak Ridge, Maryville and Hendersonville (all teams that played both Farragut and CBHS), and they will say that it was really no contest as to who held the crown for the best team in TN this year"

    No contest....!

Oak ridge beat CBHS...got beat 3-0 by farragut. (great point dins)...first game was terrible conditions for both teams.

i would love to talk to maryville team/coach and see what they really feel. Gave farragut a game, but got smoked by CBHS. Maybe they will vouch for your opinion.

    /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Either way, they were both state champs, and that is what it is all about. I have never disagreed that they should have been ranked, just thought it was far fetched to say that it was "no contest".

    /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

  8. First off, i love how Farragut was not the best team in the state(Dins).( look at the cleveland and oak ridge scores)

    CAK could have beat CBHS.

    2nd, the whole "national rankings".

Really? You all should thank them for putting TN soccer in the mix....I believe there are a couple of teams that did well in dallas at the regional tournament. But im sure you have something to say about that because you were not involved with it.

I bet if maryville or oak ridge was ranked, you all would be singing a different tune!

    Thanks for the humor /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  9. Dave is the biggest joke in knoxville.

Anyone.....whether it was a player, another coach, or a ref would tell you that it is humerous!

    Absolute tool.

If he gets another job in this town, wait, nevermind there is no way that happens.

Sad that Gibbs has been given such a bad wrap because of one individual.

  10. My final game is USJ vs. CAK.

    Then Brentwood vs. Farragut.

Farragut and CAK bringing home the trophies.

(This was posted on May 18th)

(3 out of 4 correct) (both Champs though)

CAK is just on a different level than anyone in that division.

Hendersonville was a great team and it was a shame that they went home early.

Kingsbury gave it everything they had, and was a pleasure to watch.

Columbia was exactly what we all thought....but a good season and great job making it to state.

White had a good season as well, but just isnt on that level yet.

Cleveland, was a Varsity team with a JV schedule.(not throwing darts, just stating the obvious)

Bearden is always a strong team. They are not as skilled as other teams, but losing is not an option with that program.

Brentwood is brentwood. They have a reputation and it is dead on....Great program, no class.

Great job getting back to the championship game!

Farragut was just more complete than every other team that was there.

    /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  11. you know stud.... for some one who likes to point things out, you are really good at missing the whole point. do you have selective reading and the ability to read something that is not there? i said winner of kingsbury/cleveland for the title.... but will have to get past farragut..... farragut was never my pick (although i feel they probolly will when it all).... i have no crediablity when it comes to spelling or english (never claimed to), i will give you that, but it seems i have more credibilty in soccer then someone who hides behind a name and tells me that my college career is fake and that i have done nothing to earn any respect at the high school level. which to me is pretty funny, since you know me so well. someone who finished 7th in KIL scoring and second in their district from the outside mid position sounds like they did above average (well it would have to be because only a few scored more). oh and i didn't have a hat trick that year ethier (showing i scored in ALOT of games, pretty much ever game i played my senior year and not just on the bad, but the good to). Where is your credibility? i bet you watched alot of high school games in your day......

Never said any remarks to the bold above. Just stated that you were so critical of high school soccer, and told us how bad it was, and that you were taking the time to tell us. Just didnt understand really what was going on with you.

I have never not given you respect at the high school or college level. I have no idea who you are. (have a good idea though)

Also, i did watch a lot of high school games in my day. (from the bench) I played JV all 4 years!

  12. i really do like farragut in this one.... but i have heard alot of good things from some other schools. i think kingsbury could be a shocker and i would like to hear them winning it all. Cleveland not loosing a game and putting themselves in position to win ever game is a very good upside. plus i hear they have a very solid D (helps in the tourny), but can they generate the Offense (we will see).... I'm going with the winner of cleveland kingsbury game to win state...... that is if they can find a way to hold off farraguts high speed attack that has been rainning goals here as of late..... tough choice and good luck to all

    Ucsoccer,

First you like farragut, then kingsbury, then cleveland, then winner of Kings/cleveland, then farragut again.

Once again, you show that you really have no idea what is going on (love your credibility)

"cleveland not loosing (losing) a game and putting themselves in position to win ever game is a very good upside."

What in the heck does that mean. So winning every game gives them an edge?

I think it is due time for them to lose if anything.

Like i first posted before the blind draw was done.

My final game is USJ vs. CAK.

    Then Brentwood vs. Farragut.

Farragut and CAK bringing home the trophies.

  13. The blind draw.....(would love to know how this is done) somehow puts Farragut against hendersonville, a team they have all ready played.

This is the only matchup where they will have to play again in the qter finals. I think it is terrible

    Why wouldnt Hville face cleveland?

I just think that if these 8 teams make it to the tourny, they should see some new competition!

Cant wait to see all the games.

Good luck to everyone and may the best team win!

  15. Uc,

You are "playing" college soccer, and still posting about high school soccer. ( taking the time to speak how bad it is)

As for you competing at such a high level of club....we it made me smile /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

    Enough of OR and Farragut!

Lets keep the Bearden vs. Farragut III going!

Good luck to every team still in the hunt!

  16. ucsocccer,

Are you credible enough to take such negative shots at high school soccer?

if it is so bad, and it blows you away, then why watch, or even take the time to post on here?

Yes, it was a sloppy high pressure game, where neither team really got into a groove. But personally, from where i was sitting, certain times there was moves/jukes, and some real talent showed.

Just was blown away from your post.

Good luck to the Admirals and Bulldogs on thursday and satruday!

Hope both teams advance and bring the title back to East TN !
