On a different note.... wanted to ask your opinion on something dhs. How does this Liberty team compare to other Liberty teams in the schools brief history. I know the semi final team you guys had in 2009 (I believe) that lost to Giles county was probably your best. How does this compare. I know this is not one of our better teams in Milan but just wanted to know your thoughts.

Haywood only lost by ten and lexington defense is better and there offense is a whole lot better this game is gonna be real good can't wait to see what happens

I really would not label Liberty and up and comer. They are a new school, however, 6 consecutive play offs and 2 semi-finals in the last 4yrs? It is a fairly new school. How many semi-finals does Dyersburg and Lexington have under their belt? I do understand it is all about CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!! ........

Discipline? What makes Liberty undisciplined??? Great kids. the coach does a darn good job with em, always seem to be in the mix come late November!!!! Oh, I know!!! Your one of THOSE guys!!!!!

I hear they have alot of YOUNG talent?? Time will tell. Coach usually does a pretty goood job with em. Im goona try a make FCA 7on7 at USJ next week and get a good look at a couple of teams.

JCM proved Saturday in the 7 on 7 tournament at Obion, pure dominance and loads of talent, with quality coaching. Noone will be able to stop them when they take to the air, and we aren't even talking about a top rated running attack , lead by All West, 2 star rated RB Rodney Clark, Jr. I saw the level they were on last year as well, my expertise in this area tells me this team is definitely a top tier team and easily may represent the West in 3A come State title time. You heard it here first!!!

Why does JCm blow their own horn so early in the summer? Top tier teams Liberty, covington, Lexington, Milan, they just playball and let everyone else do the talking. No play off wins in who knows how lnog? And your saying State Champinsip???? Strange!! Good Luck.

How has Liberty underachieved in your opinion? Many schools have athletes, but its what you can do with them!! 5 consecutive play off appearances and 2 SEMI FINALS in the last 4 yrs. Really, how many teams in west tennessee have done better?? Not many. Liberty is A GOLD BALL away from being a POWERHOUSE.

I think Liberty has a legit shot. They have been to the semis twice in the past four years and if open enrollment is going to help them as much as many think, watch out?

I agree. East TN has owned West TN, and you certainly cant be a powerhouse without a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!!! I do think Liberty has what it takes to compete for a GOLD BALL.

i believe Libertys schedule is full? Henry Co., MUS, Brentwood academy and Millington are non district games. WOW!!

To say who the best team is at this point is a little premature. I know for a fact Liberty is VERY young. They are always one of the better teams around.

They did what they had to do to beat a very good Liberty team. I think Liberty would run Beech off the field. JMO

my view...i believe liberty varsity won the scrimmage 5TDs to 3...

 

mad is right...south gibson came out strong...they were impressive...lots of size and some pretty serious speed out of the backfield for SG...im pretty sure SG #1 rb did not play tho...

 

1st series was a 10 play do what you can type...SG scored on their 10th play...Liberty scored on their 3rd play and drove back down to the other end of the field ending up on their 8 yard line or so for the 10th play 1TD to 1TD...every other possession was down and distance

 

Tech linebackers didnt wrap up very well early...dropping heads and shoulders and the backfield speed from SG was evident

 

Finley from liberty was once again the fastest player on the field making huge play after play...i think he had 3 or 4 of libertys TDs with the QB scoring the other and a DB

 

mad is correct they split the varsity snaps...SG scored on their 1st 3 drives and stopped liberty on its 3rd drive so SG 3-2 at half we'll say

 

SG put in some 2nd team skill players behind what i believe was their 1st team line...one of their lineman got rolled up on and had a horrible injury to his leg...hopefully he can return come august...both teams played 2nd stringers for about an hour then brought the varsity squads back on the field for another 3 series each...SG was stopped on all 3 drives and TECH scored on 2 of its 3 drives...the 1 that stalled they were 1st and goal from the 4 and then decided to go the wrong direction thanks to SG D line...so thats 4-3 liberty...and I believe TECH also scored on an INT during 1 of the final 3 SG drives...they had 2 INTs

 

both teams had great speed out of the backfields and SG has some serious size on their lines...liberty just had a few more athletes

 

as far as the jv guys or 2nd stringers...it was a track meet for both sides...i dont believe either team stopped the other...breaking off 40, 50 and 60 yard runs

i have followed Liberty football for a couple of years now, and I dont think they had all of their horses out for the spring? I keep seeing the name Finley. What about the bush kid? and Owens from last year? Did they graduate? I thought they were underclassmen. I heard alot of peiople in the stands commenting on how many freshman started for Liberty lastnight. No way those kids are freshmen!!

Just watched Liberty and S. Gibson. The Hornets were game early on trading scores with Liberty. After about four series the twos played about 4 series, which I thought Libert young kids pretty much dominated. The first teams came back in and it was ALL Liberty. TO MUCh SPEED.

so only 3 days of practice before the westview scrimmage. should see a lot of improvement tomorrow.

I think they started the last friday in April? 3 days of practice and 2 days of film and weights.

Liberty or JCM. are you serious???? JCM is a joke. has been and will be. They have won 4 games in five years. They wont beat any team other than Fayette Ware. Thats the problem at JCM, no realistic expectations. The statement they are back is funny!!! what makes them BACK? 2-8. How about they try and at least finish with a 500. record. Or make the 3A playoffs??? I can only assume you are a coach at JCM? How sad!!!!!
