Whats everyone think?

Well,

we've scrimmaged Meigs county, and had a 3-way scrimmage with Polk County and Midway.

There are 43 days (or so) until the first games on August 21. Coalfield schedule first then every 3-4 days another teams schedule will be assessed. My opinion; and not worth much, but really wanted to generate some discussion.

 

Coalfield was 4 and 7 last year. The following seem to be no brainers: Coalfield will lose to Rockwood and Oneida but will win against Jellico and Oakdale.

 

Bledsoe county: I see this as a loss for Coalfield. True, Bledsoe was 1 and 9 last year but they had a tough schedule and they played some decent teams pretty tough.

 

Sunbright: I see this as a win. Coalfield just seems to have Sunbrights number year after year.

 

Tellico Plaines: Another larger school with a 1 and 9 record. However Tellico did not have as tough a schedule as Bledsoe. This should be a win for Coalfield.

 

Oliver Springs: I'm going with Coalfield on this one. I saw the game last year. OS does not seem to have the speed that Coalfield has and I don't see that changing this year.

 

Wartburg: Wartburg's only win last year came against Coalfield. This is a tough call but I'll give the revenge edge to Coalfield.

 

Harriman: Coalfield beat Harriman last year to knock Harriman out of the play-offs. I believe that Harriman has the better athletes but maybe not the heart. Home game for Harriman; athletes win this year, loss to Coalfield.

 

Predicited record for Coalfield: 6 and 4 and on to the play-offs

 

Next week Grace and Greenback.

Nice thread. Excellent points about our schedule, and nice details; but you gotta remember, we played many tough teams too; Greenback, Grace Chrstian, York, Oneida, and Midway.

I beleive we'll beat Bledsoe, because they might've had a tough schedule, but i just think we pull off the win.

And i think we beat Rockwood, and if not, it be a very close game,

but thats just my opinion.

Who do you think does good, bad, out of all Morgan County teams, and who are some good players from each?

We may need some coaches to instruct on Sat. the 20th for the Camp.

All coaches that are helping are volunteering so that we can help in the cost of Bibles, T-shirts, and Lunch

Is the Coalfield scrimmage at Greenback or Coalfield?

Its at Greenback.

Sunbright is going to Clay County, Wartburg has Sequoyah tonight & Someone told me Oakdale is going to scrimmage Midway this spring. I still haven't heard anything about Coalfield.

We scrimmage Greenback May the 18th.

thank god you all are actually gonna play each other.. i was gettin tired and i know some of the other people on hear was to hearin about how oz wont play rockwood or whatever the matter was.. now you can play and settle it on the field like it should be done!! best of luck to both teams.

 

and i agree with the guy that said wartburg and coalfield will contend for the county title.. but i don't agree with the person that said they lost all there talent.. i agree they will be young but still talented especially on defense. they return Luke Jackson, Austin Hensley, Forrest Adkisson, and have some new comers that will be able to change a game around in Anthony Wilkins, and the Seiber boy.. they will be tough and play very hard. just hope there offense is more productive than last year.. it is going to have to be.

I agree with you on that. This years offense has to be more dedicated, more precise.

And Coalfield has alot of talent actually. everyone will find that out.

And To OZ, i wish you all the best of luck against Rockwood.

This year will be interesting in Morgan County.I think Coalfield and Wartburg end up playing for the County Championship. But i don't know. We'll find out how good everyone is at Spring practice.

Wartburg starts spring practice this week. I'm looking forward to see these boys get to work and show their progress in the scrimmage.

Who is Wartburg scrimmaging?

Well we start our spring practice May 7th. We have a scrimmage against Greenback May 18.

Oz football is a joke. Can you please tell me the last dubble A team to bet Alcoa? Any idea humm yeah it was Oz and i know your from morgan county talking that junk. Yes when you take a small school and put it up against bigger schools what do you expect? But no excusses this year you will see oz with a winning season. I promise you that. And i yes it does help alot in off season working out hard and yes the lineman do when the games but as of right now we have no small lineman and we got a freshman that went to the conbine and won strongest freshman in the state. So im just not saying it to be saying it Oz will have a good and strong team this year

I agree totally. I think the games will be very competitive and it will feel like the "old days" again, or like us 80's high school players: the "DARK AGES!"

It will be a good year. Each game counts big, so expect some hard fought battles.

I find this pretty funny. Do you not think every high school football team gets in the weight room and hit it hard. I do belive so every team wants to get stronger and better just because your getting in the weight room dont mean your going to be any good. First off you got to have some talent on your side but im not sure if you do or not. And for the sunbright kid i have no idea of what type of classes they give there but you my friend need to take a few more english classes. I just find it funny that you think your going to be great because your hitting the weight room hard haha thats a joke.

Wow. After i spent about 5 minutes trying to understand what your writing said, i laughed. You know whats funny? You keep bringing up the past, about who lost to who LAST YEAR. This is a new year kid. Were all 0-0. It doesn't matter if we lost to Wartburg, all that matters is the fact we've been hitting the weight room with intensity, and people like you are the reason we work harder and harder every day. Just wait till week 2 rolls around. Yall are in for a suprise.

And i am printing this off UnderDog 32. They've got a world of hurt coming in for them.

We will back it up, i can promise you that. We've been in the weight room, hitting it hard just about every day. We'll change everyones minds once they see us play.

I honestly dont think so. Coach Henry has coached at Oneida before ( i'm sure you know that) but i'm sure he'll stay here, due to the fact they've already invested some money in our Workout system and the new field house. We've got some good talent coming up, so i'm positive he's staying loyal.

OZ, i can promise you Coalfield is gonna put up a bigger fight than you think we will. Remember while yall have been in the weight room working hard, we have too since November. OZ and Coalfield has ALWAYS been a big rivalry since i can remember, and last year when we beat yall 26-0 was the first time in a while its been score-less. So don't assume yall are going to win, because i promise it'll be a fight for the inches.

This year is sort of a rebuilding year for Morgan County teams. It will be interesting to see how this year turns out.
