  1. Don't say York didn't play some decent teams now.

1.Smith County made it to the third round was 9-3 with one loss against York

2.Livingston made it to the forth round in 4A

3.Dekalb County made it the second or third round in 4A

    4.Goodpasture was 9-2

5.Cannon County beat everyone and was named district champs

Plus York had to travel to every game of the playoffs which is not an easy task.

Every game York lost was played in the mud.....besides Milan.

You saw York's passing game it's hard to not be able to throw and win if you are them.

Livingston and Dekalb both got put out 2nd round.

  2. GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!!

Looking thru a one way glass..huh! Options made the best post when said it was in poor taste but no one is ever happy when a kid gets hurt. York came in manhandled Milan as much as Milan did York. The turnovers were the difference in the game and thats part of it. Get over it. The "Dawgs" won. Now go get your silver ball and be happy.

Talk about a one way lens. You never man handled Milan. That is too funny. We won the battle up front consistently all night long. It is always a problem when someone meets a team that throws as much as you guys do because it can't be simulated in practice. However, the adjustments were made, and we fixed it.

Numbers dont lie...All that yardage didnt come against the cheerleaders...

Now, you know as well as I do that the bulk of your yardage came in the 1st half. We have already complimented you guys on the way you played. All the trick plays, the 4th conversions, etc. Good job. Milan made adjustments and shut you guys down.

All of you Milan fans are wonderful one trick play for the first touchdown. The next touchdown came on a quick snap from the center to the quarterback runs 19 yards right up the middle for a touchdown right through the middle of the defense untouched. Not a trick play just no defense. The bulk of the yardage 1st half just for your info not hardly 203 1st half and 152 second half total of 355 yards to your 249.Over 100 yards difference u guys better thank god for Avery he was the man in this ballgame.By the way you didnt shut anything down we just came out of the redzone twice with no points Avery int. for 1 and the other int. in your endzone. It sure sounds like total domination to me.Yeah right not hardly ..

    Either way York lost

  3. ..I do beleive that the game was held up twice while the dawgs got players off the field.
    :bored:

LOL you know your not worth a reply to your post ..... to the milan football players that were hurt I wasn't throwing a cheap shot at you and I do hope that you have a speedy recovery. I would not wish hurt and pain on you or any other child..... I was only on here to state that our boys played great football against you and was not pounded as stated...As for the trip home it was great the boys came to Milan to play in the semi finals and thats what they did ..no bruised ego here...Have a safe trip and I hope you have a great game friday night......

York did a good job of slowing the game down. Milan could score at will and York knew it. If the starters on both sides would have been left in the final 5-6 minutes then I believe Milan would have tacked on a couple more scores. Once Milan started playing Milan ball they made York look terrible.

  4. On a sloppy wet field. Its going to be dry friday night if you want to have a chance you better start piss on the field like your mouth is and they did not beat us by three TDs. We were every game we lost till the very last minute so gp better be ready to play the whole game and not like they did against grundy co. , because if they do they will have a long night. GO DAGONS!!!!! :thumb:

So York can't win unless it is dry? All I hear is how York could have easily been 10-0. Well they could have easily been 6-4 because from what I hear the refs gave them the Scott game. I understand your QB got hurt, but that is part of the game.

  5. There is no way gp beats YORK by three tds YORK has a better defence then to let that happen. If all gp does is run they better look out, because when they have to pass YORK will eat them alive :thumb: .

Their secondry is the best I have seen. They can stop the run on anybody, and when they hit they will try and knock your heads off. I promise you this will be a hard hitting game on YORK side. :thumb::thumb:

Didn't Cannon eat up that secondary?

  6. Thanks for the reply. What kind of offense do they run?

They run the veer. They are also about a 70/30 pass team. Couple good running backs, good QB who used to be a starting wb for our team that went to the third round. Good receiving core. Should be a really good match up. They have more speed than size, and, as saw in the Smith County game, it is a great advantage.

I think he meant 70/30 run team.

Schedules taken from coacht. You can't compare this team to the 07 team just plain ridiculous. York could have had 7 shut outs in 07 if Coach Wright left his first string in until two minutes to go like Coach Brown. Most the time in 07 second string came in the second series of the second half. lol

  8. I think SC wins this game by 14. Yes York is bigger and more physical, but SC has way more speed plus it's a home game for them. It's really hard to go against a team that's playing on their home field during the playoffs. I think it will be a huge upset if York wins. SC's special teams is out of Yorks league as well. I don't believe it will be a blowout but it very easily could be if SC comes out and plays ball.

Honestly? I don't even think Alcoa is "out of their (York's) league". :excl: It's HS football, anything can happen. Plus a huge upset? Like I said, HS football. York was 3 plays away from 10-0, home playoff spot, and a #1 ranking. I don't think this will be a huge upset WHEN York whens. . Speed right? York has at least 1 player I have never seen caught and they have corners, LBs, and even Lineman that can run 4.6-5's. And, granted that 44 and 2 has speed, what does it matter when they are getting hit at the line or behind it? They aren't power runners by any stretch of the imagination. 8.3 ppg allowed this year... I'll take my chances with York. I see York with this one by at least 14. They won't be stopped if they play like they did last week. It's gonna be a rough game... and I can't wait. Good luck to both teams. Drive safe Amish Nation

Come on 79. This York team couldn't play with the 2007 Dragons much less any Alcoa team in the past decade or longer.

    :excl:

    This is very true!

Man you are a joke. #41 is the fastest on the team and he runs a 4.6 at best.

  10. I think you at smith county saw what the mountain boys can do. I think york has one of the best WR in the state in Asberry he has hands that can catch anything, :thumb:

The past four years York has had some of the best receivers in the state. Beaty, Cooper, Norman, Smith. A few of these boys could flat out fly and catch, but never had a QB that could throw. Now with Reynolds at QB he can sling it a mile. If york would've had a QB that could throw like Reynolds the last few years they could have spread it out and threw it all over the place.

York has had a pretty good qb that last few years...he didn't have throw as YAI had some great skilled players in the backfield (Reynolds being one of them) and at the H back. York didnt have to run but when he did throw....He wasn't that bad as the run set up those few pass plays.

I agree there was a skilled backfield and the QB could run. But sorry he wasn't that much of a passer. One of the weakest arms I've seen at the QB position.

  12. Ok, question. I have to agree with Bobcatfan here, why, if York has played such a "sorry" schedule, and is just a "decent" team, where they ranked 8th at one point? All I have heard is excuses as to why York is so bad. Why has there not been any mention other than once as to Smith's "close" encounters, and then the not so close one I witnessed at Tech. If York is a "decent" team, then Smith is no better. I was not the least bit impressed. 4 picks, about the same number of fumbles, and it wasn't even raining... Just don't get too cocky. And, haven't you heard? Smith pays double to get in... We're trying to get us a fancy indoor practice facility as well... :roflol:

Key word is "was" ranked. They were ranked until they started playing the teams who actually had winning records. :roflol: And that is when they started losing. The reason York was ranked so high early in the season is because the last few teams York has had. Well Smith is going to finish one or two in the district which seems much better than fifth by York.

  13. Someone on here always says how York hasn't beaten a winning team, but York was in their 3 losses right to the last minute and each could have gone either way. So, Cannon Co, DeKalb and Livingston must not be very good either if York isn't. Anyone who has seen Tyrel Asberry or Brian Reynolds play, as well as several other Dragons, knows York has a very good team. I just heard it will be raining Friday night and agree the game should be moved to Thursday.

Close does not count in football. York is going to finish 5th in the district which is the worst they have finished in a while. I will say York is decent but not VERY good. With York having the seecond weakest schedule in the state how can they not finish with a great record? Probably because they are decent not VERY good.
