  1. Rumor has it that Coach Wally has Farragut playing some bunker ball. Interesting if so--tough to lose all those studs last year and have talent more in line with the rest of the district, huh, Coach C??

Bunker ball, huh, .....? Yea, you could call it that, but it worked. Guess there is less excuses for others like yourself when the "talent is more in line with the rest of the district."

  2. I heard (pure rumor - no direct source) that they had requested to be moved to a lower bracket because of this being a rebuilding year. To my (very limited) knowledge of the Palmetto Cup - there is no lower bracket - just different flights that ultimately merge. Someone with more knowledge of the PC may know better. Makes sense that they withdrew if the thought was that they wouldn't be competitive. They won't be "down" long.

At least you said pure rumor....

Many reasons why they chose not to make the trip. A lower bracket was not one of them. It will be a fun year for east tennessee. Farragut and Bearden are in the same tournament with alot of out of town teams. Should be a great showing from all over the state.

  3. Farragut had a great season and fell short of a state championship. Could not be anymore proud of all my players the entire year. For those that have said "Centennial only had 1 player", that is not true. The whole team played their hearts out, and should be commended on being in the State Championship Match. Yes, the GK is a monster, (and he is the best player I have ever seen at his position), but they have a great team, and great coach. It was a great game, and was not dirty from either side. Just a hard fought 80 minutes. It was their time, and they have a great program. We outshot them 22-3, and had the ball in their half for most of the game. Just could not get it done. We did not lose because of effort. Im sure a lot of people are satisfied that we lost, and that is understandable. If there was another team that was 24-0, I would want someone to knock them off too! Thats what makes it fun, and thats why we play the game.

    I think Centennial will win.

Best of luck to both teams.......

    -Farragut Assistant Coach

  4. Its almost time for kickoff!!!!!

    Farragut over White Station 2-0

    Centennial over LaVergne 3-1

    Hendersonville over Riverdale 2-1

    Bearden over Collierville 1-0

    Semifinals

    Farragut over Centennial 3-1

    Bearden over Hville 2-1

    Finals

The Trophy is coming back to KNOXVILLE !!!!!!! :popcorneater:

Its tough to beat a team 4 times in 1 season. This will be a great game!

Best of luck to everyone that is in the STATE tournament :thumb:

  5. Not tryin to rain on Farragut's parade at all, but can we cool it a little bit with the "number two in the nation" stuff? Last I checked, the majority of states in the country play soccer in the fall and it just seems a bit ridiculous to act like Tennessee has three of the top 20. Listen, Farragut is obviously an extremely talented team and probably the best team in the state, but to cast aside the teams that play in CA, TX, etc just makes us look kind've stupid. At least say they are the top ranked spring hs soccer team. Kind've reminds me of how the NBA declares their champion "world champs" when they don't play anyone outside North America.

Right now, we are a "region finalist"

    That is all.

  6. Great showing from Oak Ridge. Tough loss. After the game, both teams were wrong and its a shame that we even have to talk about it. Farragut players have been informed that we will not act that way NO MATTER what the situation is. Best of luck to the Wildcats in the future! Looks like they have many great years to come.

We discipline our kids. We try to keep them focused. Every team has a different identity. We had a good practice today. Our players WILL be focused one game at a time. Im actually glad that everyone cares about us so much ;)

  7. Great game for both teams. Clean for the most part, and opportunities for both the entire match. Bearden had a field player in goal because the keeper got injured in warmups. Also had Patrick Harmony leave with a concussion during halftime. NOT a blowout, and lots of hard work from everyone. Great showing from the Bulldogs!

Bearden at Hardin Valley is the game of the year! It will be interesting to see both these coaches and players go after it. Its a shame both these teams wont be going to state, BOTH are deserving.

Farragut will host Oak Ridge. Expect a tough, physical game. This is always a tough game for both teams.

6 more games and we will have a State Champion!!! Wonder who it will be ?

  8. This is a game we all look forward to watching every year! We get to see it again on Friday!

The first game, the score didnt show how competitive Bearden really was. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Dont expect a blowout ;)

    Other predictions???????

  9. It will be a good challenge for both teams! Also we both get to prepare for the tournament. It should be a great night for soccer!

Didn't know his son was a coach there. I played club ball with him. :roflol: Been years since I've talked to him lol.

Tell them both I said hello tomorrow.

    Armstrong?

    Hope all is well!

  10. 4 seconds in.... Alcoa up 1-0. Great shot from Derrick. He put it right under the bar on a line drive right from the kickoff.(Akula didnt even get to see it! He was turned around  )

Final was 7-1 with Alcoa showing great qualities throughout the match. I cant say enough about the coaching and the players at Alcoa. They are all great people with such positive energy the whole match. Expect them to make some noise this month for sure. It looked like both teams had a great time tonight and plenty of smiles and laughs to go around. Not one dirty play from either side. Best of luck to Coach Gorman and the program in the future.

  11. I dont even know how to approach your thoughts, but everyone is entitled to an opinion. As for the ego's, and discipline... Its a fulltime job keeping 18 year old boys focused. (especially when everyone brings their A game...EVERY game) Your one of many that will take shots at Farragut's program, and you wont be the last. We had a great season last year, and are trying to make another run this year. Organization/discipline? So I guess 16-0 just comes from luck? Not really sure how your statements make much sense. Noone questioned Bearden coaching, YOU questioned Farragut's coaching. I'm sorry you feel that there is no control of the players, but I disagree with you. Districts are right around the corner and then all the regular season records dont matter anymore. When did you become so educated on Knoxville teams? Thought you were a player from Middle TN.

  12. My prediction for tonight.....

    CAK 1

    Alcoa 1

I know its boring, but I think this will be an even game. Each team will get a couple of opportunities, but will be even for the last whistle. Best of luck to both teams and coaches!

  13. Catholic 1, West 0

Wow. So, where does that put Catholic? 2nd or 3rd?

The way I see it is that Farragut and Bearden have #1 and #2 spot locked up. And Maryville controls their own destiny.

If Maryville beats West on Friday, then Maryville has the #3 spot to play #6, who would be Lenoir City (the winner plays Bearden). Catholic would have #4 and they would play the #5, who would be West (the winner would play Farragut).

If Maryville loses to West, then Catholic would be #3 and I think Maryville would drop to the #5 spot.

I don't even want to think about a tie right now.

Let's just say that the outcome of this game on Friday night between Maryville and West will have an impact on many different teams and their playoff situations.

Thanks Ned for doing all the thinking for us :) Whats your prediction in the West/Maryville game?

  14. Hardin Valley has talent, speed, and plenty of heart. The game was even the whole time, and both teams had chances to score. NUMEROUS (too many to talk about) bad calls for both sides throughout the entire match that really took away from the game. Hats off to Hardin Valley and Coach McLean. Well coached, and really played like a "team" that wanted to win (and in my opinion, really deserved to win).

I would like a question answered:

If a Farragut player gets Yellow Carded, and Hardin Valley has 3 guys on the line to substitute in, then what happens........ Obviously Farragut gets to replace him, and then " I thought " Hardin Valley gets to sub in "1" player. 1 for 1 is what it has always been since I can remember.

Two times tonight, when both sides got a Yellow, the ref said that ALL 3 players were supposed to sub in.

    When did this change?

If someone could please give me the CORRECT information, I would appreciate it.
