Just a reminder, this weeks game will have special guests at halftime. Goodpasture will be honoring the 1999 State Champion team. Please show up and give them your support!

Dont forget that this Friday's game will be senior night at Cougar Stadium. Senior night was suppose to be earlier in the year, but it was raining - hard! So come out and support this years seniors that have given so much to the Goodpasture program!

The thing that I cant wait to see is Goodpasture playing 3A teams. All year, they have been playing 4A, 5A, and even 6A teams. I know that Coach Martin and his staff do this to toughen up there team, that way they are prepared for the playoffs! I hope the plan works, and good luck and good health to both teams this Friday! It would be nice to see Goodpasture open it up more and throw the ball. We will see.

I have been trying to get information about Grundy County! Does anyone know anything about them? Grundy County fans where are you?

You are entitled to your opinion, and you know what they say about opinion's. Here at Goodpasture, we respect all of our opponents. So, I think we will go ahead and play all the games, because who knows, something might happen and both Goodpasture and Milan might both be knocked out of the playoffs come the semi-finals. So keep on making statements and assumptions. I prefer to play the games and see what happens. Goodpasture will concentrate on each team, each week. If we are fortunate enough to win, then we will do it all again the next week. I am sure the teams on the eastern side of the brackets would like to go ahead and play the games instead of just handing it to Alcoa, but it sounds like you have already reserved your hotel rooms for the state game.

Wow again! So let me get this straight! You want Goodpasture fans to relax. You are just trying to get a rise out of Goodpasture fans, but you stand behind your comments. So you just saying the same thing in a different way! And by the way, I am really impressed that you played football before any of us "clowns were born". So its okay for you to make all the jabs you want, but if we respond, we need to relax. Why dont you just let these kids play, and then you can talk smack! Also, dont insult chess. Here at Goodpasture we have a great chess club too!

Does anyone know anything about Grundy County? Help!

Wow. I'll tell you what, with all due respect to not just Goodpasture, but all the rest of the teams that worked hard and made the playoffs this year, lets go ahead and play the games! If that is ok with you? There are alot of teams that are bigger and stronger than last year, so it does matter!

Goodpasture does have alot of team speed. They just have not been able to do anything with it the last couple of weeks due to the playing conditions. Look at last night for an example. I do think that Goodpasture has a very nice combination of size and speed. They have not had to pass much because of there power running game, but dont worry, they will pass. I do agree that there are a couple of athletes that have speed that they could be using more. I just think Coach Martin and his staff are setting something up. I do know that they wont put someting on tape if they do not have to. What about Grundy County? What type of offense and defense do they run?

Goodpasture is the #1 seed. Grundy County is the #8 seed. Great job by both teams making the playoffs! What do you think?

Or should all the Goodpasture and Greenbrier fans start posting about tonite's game on the GC thread? We get it, you love your team, just like we love our teams. Now lets try and stay on topic, like this football game which will determine the champion!

EVER! Well, except for maybe his dad. Yes I have heard of Bo Wallace. No, I am not hiding under a rock. I was just trying to make sure this was the Goodpasture vs Greenbrier thread. I guess you did'nt get that! Back to the game, good luck to both teams, and I hope both sides walk away from the game healthy.

This years team is a much more balanced team. This years team has better debth. Last years team had some very good seniors, along with Benji Cunningham. They dont have the breakaway threat at running back this year like they did with Benji last year. But they are a better team in my opinion. They have size on the line, they have speed at wide receiver. They are better at tight end, and there defense is better. I think there a year from doing something special, but the quicker these kids grow up on the field, the quicker they will be that good. They have the potential to accomplish anything they want this year, the question is, are they ready for it?

I will admit I do not know much about this years Greenbrier team. I have reviewed there schedule, and the last time I saw them play was last year against Station Camp. I did like the atmosphere at there field. For Goodpasture, if they continue to mature and play hard, the sky is the limit for this team. I think they might be one year early, because of the amount of juniors and sophomores they have starting, or playing major minutes. I am sure last week will be a major wake up call for them. The last time this happened this year, Coach Martin got them back on the right track against DL. I would like to think that if Goodpasture plays to there potential, they can play with anyone in 3A. Wow, I hope you get off your country high horse soon. I hate to tell you this, but alot of the boys on Goodpasture are "country boys"! So what does that make them? As far as the field, relax. I am sure Coach Martin and his staff are not the first coaching staff to be concearned about a field. I know you are trying to build this "us against the world theme", but it just wont work. You can try and slat anything I say to your benefit. What I said if you go back and read it is that Goodpasture needs to be ready every game. They came off the bye week, and they looked uninspired. There were ALOT of penalties, and they let it get to them. As I said, Goodpasture can't do that and expect to win. And if you read what I said, I also said that if that happens, they WILL lose. And what I also said is that Goodpasture better be ready for everyone's best game, reguardless if they are country or not! Now back to the Greenbrier game! The last time I saw Greenbrier play was last year against Station Camp. They always have a good team, and are well coached. I am looking forward to Friday night. I would also like to wish Sycamore good luck against White House. That should be a very good game as well.

I understand what you are saying, but what I am saying is Goodpasture played no where near the level they have been playing at the last four weeks. It was obvious to us on the sidelines that they thought they could just show up and Sycamore would tremble. To Sycamore's credit, they played hard but Goodpasture made that game alot closer than it should have been. There was approximately 175 yards in penalties on offense and one touchdown called back. And the only touchdown that Sycamore got was on a drive where Goodpasture was called for 45 yards worth of "unsportsmanlike conduct penalties". If you were there, you know what I mean. Sycamore played hard, and played with pride. Everyone associated with the Sycamore program should be proud. This Goodpasture team must understand that they must give a top level effort every night. If they do not, they will get beat. And for some teams, if they beat Goodpasture, it will make there season. So the Goodpasture boys need to understand that they are going to get every teams best effort! That being said, last week was last week. Onto the Greenbrier game. This game will be a great game. I expect both teams will give there best. It looks like rain again next Friday. I hope it stays dry so the boys can determine the outcome instead of the weather.

Other than the Whites Creek game, the Sycamore game was the worst Goodpasture has played all year. They had 8 plays of 20+ yards and one touchdown called back because of penalties. They looked flat, and it looked like they thought they could walk on the field and win. I love Goodpasture, but the truth is the truth. Thankfully they won. I know Coach Martin and his staff will use that performance to their advantage. I am sure Goodpasture will be much more prepared to play this coming week. I have faith in our coach's and players to refocus.
