  1. Easy now. It was a mistake. Get over it. Now, any comments about the game.
  2. It looks like this game is for the region! What do you think?
  3. Good luck tonite Cougars! It looks like the rain is going to stay away. I hope the field is in good condition. I look forward to an exciting game tonite, and I hope and pray that both sides stay injury free!
  4. I hope so because hopefully the later I am up means that I am getting some action in the early a.m. hours of Saturday Hope the rumor about the fight at practice is just that.........."a rumor" It is suppose to be a rain game. Goodpasture has alot of team speed, and if it is raining all game, it will turn the game into a slug-fest.
  5. They won't be in a position to run it up this week. Sycamore isn't going to be there just to shine the Cougars district title rings because they want them for themselves. I agree. I know whenever you have a district championchip on the line, both teams will come out swinging. I antisipate Goodpasture trying to impose its will against Sycamore. I wish I knew how good Sycamore is, but I know if you have a chance to win a championchip, you have to be a good football team!
  6. That is a very true statement. Coach Martin will put in as many freshman and sophomores as he can "if" the game is in hand. Sometimes you will see the score increase, but that is only if the lower classmen score. He also is very concervative with his play calling when the lower classmen go in, for obvious reasons.
  7. POWER RUNNING GAME! You have not seen a power running game yet. After Friday Night you will remember the the name STEPHON DAWSON. Go to Goodpasture's web sight to see his stats. http://goodpasturefootball.com/index.ph ... e&Itemid=1 And he isn't all that fast. Now with that said, I dont think Goodpasture can beat you with the pass. Or maybe their is no need to pass when you run it the way they do. Goodpasture wins this one going away. And they will run it up if they can. 38 to 10 My post about Sycamore's running game did not imply that they would run it down Goodpasture's throat but I would like to thank you for giving the Sycamore players some bulletin board material for this week. Goodpasture better be able to throw it because Sycamore isn't going to allow them to run it at will against their defense. I CAN ASSURE YOU OF THAT ONE!!!! Pearl-Cohn, Station Camp, & Greenbrier haven't beaten Sycamore in recent years based souly on their strong running games. All of those teams had to THROW THE FOOTBALL at some point or another in order to beat the War Eagles. Goodpasture is going to have to do the same thing as well. Trust me Goodpasture can throw the ball. The quarterback (#3) is getting better every game. Not only can he throw, but he can scramble. There trio of receivers are (#28), he is a senior who is a possesion reciever. (#9) is a junior, and he is the fastest player on the roster, if he gets an opening, he can take it to the house. And (#15) is a sophomore Tight end. He does a better job receiving then he does blocking, but makes alot of first downs. With that trio of receivers, Goodpasture has the weapons to have a very good passing game. The problem is they have been running for 200 to 300 yards a game, and they have not needed to go to the passing game. With the BIG offensive line, along with the two fullbacks we have (#32 and #29), passing has not been necessary. I would like to see them continue to run the ball, while mixing in some passing to keep the defense honest. All in all, until a team shows Coach Martin that they can stop Goodpasture's running attack, he will keep it coming, and I would too!
  8. Thank you. I do anticipate a good game. If they are a power running team, that means that it will be strength against strength. Goodpasture's front seven is very big and strong, so it will be fun to watch. Friday can not come soon enough.
  9. Sycamore usually has a very good team that does not beat itself. I dont know what type of team they have, but I do not think it will be by 21. I think Goodpasture will be the favorite, but anytime you play someone in there back yard, anything can happen!
  10. I hope that Goodpasture starts to open it up a little against Sycamore. I know that they have a BIG offensive line, but if they want to make it deep into the playoffs, they need to keep teams honest. When teams stack 8 and sometimes 9 in the box, you have to make them pay. What type of offense and defense does Sycamore run?
  11. Wow, that did not take long to start the public vs private debate. Hmmmmm, maybe we should talk about this for the 100th time? No, I think I will talk about the upcoming game and the players. That is what this thread is about, isnt it?
  12. Region game! It looks like Goodpasture is starting to get on a roll! I dont know much about Sycamore. How are they doing, and what do you all think about this upcoming game?
  13. Good game last night. The boys looked a little rusty, but I guess that can be expected coming off of a bye week. They really could not pass much because of the conditions, but it was nice to see them try and go deep so it keeps the defensive safties honest. The line played well, and after a rough first quarter, our quarterback had a nice game. Keep improving boys, and good luck next week against Sycamore!
  14. Good luck to Goodpasture tonite! I know it will be a wet game. I hope that both teams stay healthy.
  15. im not from macon kitty brown, i've done made it plain on here im from westmoreland and yes there have been post on the friendship boards. I DID'NT ask you to feel any pain just keep on taking lunch money away. i have posted on macon threads, got close kin in the program and it's just like a rich kid with everything to make fun of a winless program. gee maybe next year tssaa will let yall have more time-outs or let you offer a sign'n bonus. Next thing you know you two will be talking about my daddy can beat up your daddy. Who cares. This is about the kids, the rules are the rules. Everyone knows how both of you feel, we get it. Now let it go and lets talk about the actual game and the players..........please.
  16. I just found out from one of the coach's that the game has been moved to McGavock. I do not know why, but it will be a home game for McGavock.
  17. No I am not wrong. What I am saying is that TSSAA has set the rules, and you dont like it. Ok we all get it! I did not say all public's have open enrollment. I said the schools that have the best advantage under this system are public's with open enrollment. As you know, there are threads on CoacT set up for this "public vs private" debate. Why dont you go post on those threads, or write as many letters as you want to TSSAA because they make the rules, we just play by them. This is suppose to be about the boys! Nothing you say will change the rules as they are set up right now! So why do you continue to complain. Alcoa has beat us at State 3 out of the last 4 years. They have open enrollment, and they are a great team. Do I complain about that, NO. I say good for them. I know in the long run it makes Goodpasture better. Our school can either complain or work harder. We choose to work harder. So stop the bickering, and lets talk about the boys! YOU know down deep in your heart that it is not right for goodpasture to be playing some of the public schools they are playing. no goodpasture did'nt make the rules but you know it is still an unfair advantage. you are a very intelligent and honest person. i can tell by all your post and you know im some what right. now if you let public schools do the same then it would be equal. I do agree that if everything is the same, but one school can recruit and the other can't, well then obviously the school that can recruit will have the advantage. That is why TSSAA has the qualifier, and that is why we are playing in a region full of 4A teams. I think we will have to agree on that. Reguarless, I do want to talk about the kids and not these other issues. The adults set the rules, and the kids play. I love watching high school football, and I love Goodpasture and the way they do things. I do realize that Goodpasture has advantages, but I love the way they teach there kids the game of football, and the game of life!

  19. I dont know if you have heard but they just got done with realignment. Goodpasture has 350 students and they are playing in 3A. Also, the region they are in now is all 4A teams except for one. And yes, we do like milk and cookies! IT DOES NOT MATTER IF GOODPASTURE HAS 100 STUDENTS, if they get to hand pick the best players. what does the enrollment mean, if you get the best players you can have. THE enrollment means nothing when you get to pick the best of the best. you let me pick who i want and i'll play anybody and i don't care if their enrollment is 3000 or 1000 or 400. Tssa is wrong bad! and you are if you think it's big to beat a public school who does not have these LUX. i HATE TO THINK IF I COULD RECRUITT I COULD'NT BEAT A PUBLIC SCHOOL. These are facts and if put to a vote it would be UNANIMOUS! IT'S A JOKE. YOU CAN YELL ALL YOU WANT, but Goodpasture does not recruit 60 kids to play football. 90% of the kids who go to Goodpasture went before high school started (Goodpasture is K thru 12). And every year Goodpasture gets 1 to 2 kids who want to transfer in, but those kids WANT to be part of Goodpasture. And sorry to say it, but the schools with the biggest advantage are the open enrollement public schools! But you dont care about that do you!
  20. I dont know if you have heard but they just got done with realignment. Goodpasture has 350 students and they are playing in 3A. Also, the region they are in now is all 4A teams except for one. And yes, we do like milk and cookies!
  21. who cares both schools get to recruitt, they should win every game. man you act like they should'nt win after getting to pick the best players in the mid-state. come on. it's like somebody's high school j.v. playing somebody;s grade school. duh! who's gonna win. yae, yae win won. gee wonder why? Well obviously the people who care are GOODPASTURE fans! And isnt this a Goodpasture thread? I thought so. So why dont you go complain to the TSSAA.
  22. I heard from one of the players that #74 (Mason) an OL/DL injured his knee this week and will be out for the year. If this is true, we wish him and his family the best.
  23. I sort of see his point Is that 100% cotton or a 50/50 blend? It looks like Goodpasture is as healthy as they have been all year. How is McGavock looking in the injury department?
