CougarBrown, You are part of the problem. If you don't have anything to add about this weeks game, don't post. You are trying to stir up the stink. You are trying to bait WH fans into your sour grapes. I'm sure you can find a fan at any game to say something stupid. Again lets make this about GP/WH football. Great point BallFan44! But I do understand CougarBrown's point that we hear it all the time, and it gets old real quick. Everyone knows the rules, there is nothing any of us can do about it, so lets just enjoy the game!

I respect your comments. Thats what makes high school football great, you never know whats going to happen. I think this game will be very close, maybe the homefield will make a difference.

Here we go again about the public vs privates. Goodpasture is actually a 1A size school and they play in 3A, and Whitehouse is 4A. So enough of that. We dont make the rules, we just play by them. Every team in our new region is 4A except for Westmoreland. How about talking about the game!

I hope people continue to underestimate Goodpasture. They are young, but they are talented! You better be ready for a physical football game because that is what they bring. There line is playing very good on both sides of the ball. They average 300lbs across the board. They also have a very good linebacking core, and very athletic and fast db's. With the way they are running the ball with there fullbacks, along with the quarterback play and the two real good wide receivers they have, they are going to be tough to beat! And if it is a close game, they have a very good field goal kicker. I think the later in the year it gets, the more confidence this young team will get. I think that is a tribute to Coach Martin and his coaching staff. They just keep improving game by game. Good luck to both teams, this should be a very exciting game. Dude...you lost me on this one. Who is underestimating Goodpasture? Certainly not me. Saying the jury is still our is not underestimating. If you are as good as you think...we should see on Friday. I have seen White House...and they are solid. A win like you had over DL is impressive. The loss you had to CPA is not. That's why I said the jury is still out. What I am saying is that Goodpasture has been underestimated by alot of people this year. I also understand the reason for it, which is there youth. That is what explains there ups and downs this year. I defeniately think that next year can be a special year for Goodpasture, but this year, they can be very good if they can continue to gain confidence and expierence. White House is a very good team, and I thought that this game would be the best game in the region this year. Goodpasture needs to be ready to defend the passing game of Whitehouse, and Whitehouse better be ready to defend Goodpastures run game! Good luck and good health to both teams.

I think you nailed it CPA4Ever! The young Cougars are getting better as the season goes on! I am hoping that they keep progressing so they are playing there best football of the season in the playoffs!

I was very impressed with the total effort of Goodpasture vs David Lipscomb. I know that White House is a well coached team, and they have a very good quarterback. I dont know what type of offensive and defensive line White House has, but it seems that Goodpasture is starting to get it. All there youth is getting more and more expierence, which is starting to make them more consistant. And the seniors are stepping up. Next week can not come quick enough!

What a game for Goodpasture! First of all, thank you to David Lipscomb for playing and acting with class! The young cougars are starting to get it! I have been saying all year that Goodpasture is mostly sophomores and juniors and they can be very good if they grow up! They have been inconsistant, but it looks like they are starting to play together as a team! Offensively, they had the power running game going, along with some very timely passing. They did not throw as much as they had planned to because they didnt have to. Defensively they played a very good game. They also had 6 starters that did not play the first quarter, and one starter did not play the whole game. Great game boys, good luck Mustangs, and lets build on this victory Goodpasture!

Thank you. I hate it when we are talking about high school football and then someone wants to turn it into a "private vs public" issue. The rules are made by TSSAA! We follow them! Enough said! Stop complaining. I love the way Coach Martin runs his program! Both on and off the field. I do not always agree with what he does or what players he plays, but I do know he has a plan, and he does a great job of building men! You have to respect that! No coach or program is perfect, but I like the way they do things at Goodpasture!

Dont knock the education that is available at Goodpasture and David Lipscomb. The academics at these schools are very good. I dont know about recruiting, but I do know that kids come out of Goodpasture prepared for college!! So if you want to rip Goodpasture stick to thier excellent coaching staff, winning tradition, or high rate of students who go to college. I know that both Goodpasture and David Lipscomb are programs that many aspire to be like, and that is why people rip them because it is easier to rip them to complement them! Goodpasture is a class school, and they always put the team first. FYI, there are 5 starters that are sitting the first quarter because they were late to class earlier this week. One starter is not going to play at all in the game! Recruiting or not, private or not, you have to respect a coach and a staff that is willing to teach young men life lessons! As for the game, I hope it does not rain, and I look forward to a great game! Go Cougars!

Is David Lipscomb 4A and Goodpasture 3A? With all the new classification i haven't got use to yet. Yes you are correct. David Lipscomb is 4A and Goodpasture is 3A.

Hitting that stride ....comes a lil easier against winless Stratford...doesn't it your sooo funny...you kill me Well eventhough Stratford in winless, they've lost to pretty good teams. Lipscomb has also lost to two very good teams. As someone else said except for a breakdown or two these were games we could have won. Who have you guys beaten Westmoreland? Macon County? You didn't even score on Whites Creek!! Please dont start about Goodpasture's schedule! Every year they play anyone, anywhere! Look at their non-region schedule every year and they are always a very tough schedule. They also usually play schools in higher classifications so they can be ready for the playoffs!

I agree that Goodpasture should be a special team next year! But I do think they can be a very good team by the end of this year if they continue to learn and grow. It seems like there are a couple of players they have that can get much more involved, but I think the coaching staff is trying to build up to it. Lipscomb is always a great challenge. I think this game could go either way. It should come down to which team makes the least mistakes. Go Cougars!

I just heard that the Goodpasture/David Lipscomb game will be the Friday night television game!

I love it! I agree that this should be a good game. I am curious to see how Coach Martin calls this game. We have two good receivers and a good tight end. I would like to see them go downfield a little more and try and loosen up the defense. Goodpasture has a good, but not great running game. But I think they have the potential to be a very good pass offense. They have a couple of really fast kids that I would like to see them get the ball in space. Maybe a reverse. On defense, the Cougars look to be much improved. I think this team will get better as the season goes on regardless if they win or lose. Coach Martin is getting them ready to be playing thier best ball at the end of the year. They are a sophomore and junior heavy team, and as soon as they start playing more consistant, you will see a big change. Coach Martin always schedules hard teams, and I thank him for that. He always gets his team ready, and the Mustangs will be a great game this Friday.
