Hmmmmmm, well, from what I know about the district, Clinton would certainly be better if it could have kept several players that went to Grace and Anderson County. But would Clinton have been better than Anderson County? I'm not convinced. AC seems to have a pretty high caliber of coaches. Another team in the district -- Halls -- has suffered a lot of defections over the years and so can make the same argument. Grace's QB is a Halls kid. You just play with the hand you're dealt I suppose and it's the coaches' responsibility to find a way to get the players to achieve.

 

It's beyond that and I'm not blaming anybody but Clinton. Pyke, Patrick, and Minga would make Clinton a different team, 3 all state players. This problem has been going on for about 10 years, getting it fixed should be priority number one for the coaches. Kids are going to transfer but at a certain point it hurts the game, high school ball shouldn't be about that.

If we can keep players at home neither of those schools would be in the same league as Clinton. But we also need coaching. I'll support JK but he still hasn't proven himself. And they obviously still have problems from an administrative standpoint because they could have just hired Scotty.

I was there. I don't know why people are suprised we didn't bring 5k to the game after watching it. If coach Kerr can keep kids at Clinton they'll be alright. Stability is the number one problem. Add Camion Patrick and a couple of more and we have a different game. We probably still don't win but it's a completely different team.

This really isn't a slam on Kerr but i will never understand why they didn't hire Scotty. They have been making some strange decisions over there for a while now.

As far as the team goes they play hard and will always have my support. Hopefully we will beat Central Friday.

I think the QB coming back will give us a bigger boost than most think but i would still say HV by a couple of scores.

I'm looking forward to the trip to DB but I would have to pick the Indians in this one. Clinton's QB will still be out and we are trying find a big play guy. I do see see this team improving and think they have some talent but we were not impressive at Halls.

We got a new kicker last week! Hasn't ever played football, but u can't tell that by watching him kick extra points!

We have a kicker? That's exciting. We used to just let whoever score kick the pat.

I like the odds of him getting it done on West End. The state school people are already showing some nervousness about it too...THAT is a great sign.

This is all smoke & mirrors with offseason hype. As soon as Vandy wins 3 games this season some of these recruits will look elsewhere. If Franklin does turn Vandy around he will get poached by a bigger school. Who knows if this guy can even be a good head coach?

Well put. They don't have 4 of the top 5 players in the state. All of that is subjective, but i don't think anyone else would have the same top 5 you have.

We looked a little better. I hope everyone will be healthy by the Halls game. We need all our starters so hopefully we can get out to an early 1-0 district record. If we lose the Halls game, its gonna be a long season.

You are right about that. Like last year i think the Halls game could be the biggest game of the year.

lol, my favorites are the lady mavs that take up a couple of seats and bring their cowbells they wear at home to the game to sit in the opposing teams section so they can block your view and be as obnoxious as possible.

I agree, I hope we get the best man for the job. That being said I would hire coach Herrell. A players coach and I think he understands the Xs and Os and specifics better than Shattuck did. A great qb in his day.

My advice would be to stay the course and have a productive offseason. (players and coaches)The 2010 team was young and i think we will have a better team next year. Also Patrick was hurt in the second half, and Powell and Pyke didnt even dress, we are a different team without those three. And now it looks like we were a couple of plays away from making the playoffs. But having said all of that at times i think our execution(penalties, turnovers,etc.) is horrible and that all goes back to coaching. But we will be more experienced next year, and i'm still excited about the future.

Whats funny you all cant stop talking about AC... LOL Clinton we will make it 12and 1 after this year and you all will be at home when playoffs start....

I just hope we come out and play sharp and don't have many penalties or turnovers. I think that will give us a good chance to win.
