Just wondering what Powell's and Hall's strengths are this year. I know Halls has O'Laughlin, but I don't know much more about them and Powell I don't have a clue.

 

I was impressed with the Powell/Fulton outcome and it sounded like Powell had their way. Hall's looks a little out of sorts after the Sevier Co game. I know this game will be a battle though. Good luck to both teams.

the other key players would definitely be brady brown, logan stansberry, and jared long without a doubt.

Halls will go as far as O'Laughlin will carry them, if his shoulder is not good to go then this game will be out of hand.

O'laughlin has a lot of skill and natural talent yes i agree, BUT if you notice he's not done a thing since his sophmore year. You can argue all day and say he was hurt but the fact is he didnt do a single thing last year before he got hurt....

what players are gonna stand out you think and whose gonna come out with a win?

he's a heck of a running back theres no doubt about that and he could possibly be on the all state team for running back but i dont think he's near as good of linebacker as he is runningback i think he's just an above average linebacker but i hope the best for the kid i'd like to see him play later on

devilsden you have never been more wrong about these kids, i have watched these kids grow up sense they were in second grade until there freshman year they lost a total of 5 games they lost one there freshman year and sense they've been on varsity they have lost 14 that's a coachin problem not a player problem you obviously know very little if you want to say how crappy they are at each position yes some may not be great but ther are several that are ball players like jake and corey they have almost as many tackles now not even halfway throgh the season then anybody had for there full season last year that's more then average they might be two of halls best linebackers in a long time, on the line might be small but it's not a blockin problem it's the play callin everybody knows that we're only gonna run about four different plays so it's not that hard to defend. if you think it's a o line problem look at the catholic schrimage jake long and ben mcfalls controlled a kid that has a full ride to tennessee all night he made one tackle all night. about the running backs we are stacked at the rb position we just cant get off the ball because they know our every move. will beeler and g can catch just about anything you throw to them(if josh could actually throw) our db chad and gibson and g and blake do what there supposed to do you can't expect them to stop an offense over and over when they're on the field for 20 minutes at a time

i heard halls defense looked very good last night at dobyns bennett, and that the first team shut there all-state running back down and they didnt have a single touchdown

I was slightly surprised that I had not seen a thread about this league anywhere. This passing league doesn't have many teams and not many combined wins from last year as a group.

 

I did not get to see yesterday's games, but I did see the Halls games today. Halls appeared to have some athletes with decent speed. Halls won their two games today over South Doyle and Powell (33-13). I was told by a Webb fan that Halls had looked very good both days. Their only loss was a close one to Webb. There are no numbers on the players but I was told that O'Laughlin, Bright, Gresham and Burton were leading Halls in catches and TDs. I also think that Dowdy and Coffman are getting most of the varsity snaps and both are looking pretty good. There are also games on the practice field that are mainly for JV players and these games do not have refs or any score being kept. A storm rolled in tonight, so I did not stay to watch the Halls JV team play.

 

If anybody wants to post the results/scores from the games or comment on the games, I would love to hear some input.

well webb won the whole thing. webb beat halls in the semi's by a touchdown i think halls looked better then i've seen in a long time the second half but they just started out slow the first half the offense wasnt movin the ball andthe defense wasnt doin that well either. powell beat harden valley in the semi's also so powell got to go to the champion ship which wasnt even a game the real game was halls and webb

i seen one boy last year from halls his name was jared long. I watched several freshman games last season and he stood out. He was a heck of a running back and linebacker. At running back he would hit the holes full speed and if there wasn't a hole there he would make one. On defense i dont think i seen a play that he wasn't in on the tackle and he wasn't just jumpin on the piles he was makin the hits and boy could he lay a hit. he's got the size too. He's got an older brother named jake long that'll be a senior i think this year and that kids a head hunter not very big but he's got that "nasty" football attitude

who cares he was terrible he had one of the worst work ethics i've ever seen the kid never showed up for winter workouts which he was punished for by being suspended from spring practice and in which he thought was funny
