  1. According to the only first hand report i've heard so far, the coach went ballistic over an inadvertent whistle call that went against him late in the game. Although it was only a 2 point game, by the time he had been tech'd twice and wouldn't calm down, the game was called.

Made me think of the old CSN&Y song. "Teach your children well."

There are many things that can fall into this same line of thinking such as coaches tempers setting bad examples, profanity and poor conduct from coaches and parents alike, lack of commitment by players, families and coaches, lack of focus on making the kids better, or quitting in the middle of season or even at a national event.

  2. the mom dont know how to keep her mouth shut.she told everybody how rick recruited her and found her a job.she has already talked about the maryville apartment,i will not mention names on that end yet.it will come out when her kid is yelled at. shame on maryville, hope u get whats coming to.i can see you doing it for football but for a girl basketball player, hope its worth it.

She is just a 15 year old kid and everyone needs to let it go. If you have proof she was recruited, report it or just let it go.

  3. AAU in Tennessee is considering some changes that may bring more games to participants. I know there are several travel teams that play in Tennessee but do not play AAU. If your team is not participating in AAU now, what would help influence you to participate in AAU?

I applaud TN AAU for wanting to do more within TN. More SRT's would be nice and I like the idea of allowing more teams from sub-state to advance to state. However, we must be careful not to allow the state tourney to be lessened or de-valued by allowing less than qualified teams into tourney. Some sub-states in some age groups may have another few teams that can compete but some sub-states are not even full or have a big drop off in competition after the first two teams.

Also, some teams will not register for AAU regardless, choosing to play just locally while others like to just trophy hunt and complain about no competition. Some of the younger teams have many kids from the same school playing and this is fine too. In summary, no matter what TN AAU does some teams will still not participate for their own reasons. Just my 2 cents worth.

  4. The Tennessee Elite finshed 5th this year!! Congratulations girls on a great tourney.

Team Pride-Gold was in the national championship game vs. defending champions Georgia Ice but unfortunately were losing by 17 (I think) at the half. Either way congratulations to those girls as well despite the outcome of that game. I hope they won.....I will post when they finish the brackets.

Nevertheless, an awesome accomplishment for both teams to represent Tennessee so well. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Congratulations to Clifford Coleman of TN Team Pride on another great coaching job. Congrads to all the girls for working hard and representing TN well. Also, congrads to TN Elite on a great job as well.
