  1. Enough of the jealousy talk. Enough already.

DC's got nothing but a tough road ahead of them.. and we all know that.

to paraphrase Mark Twain: "It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt."

That includes on these message boards. A little friendly rivalry is great, but goodness people. We're looking at Haywood at home tonight, BTW or Mitchell in Sub-State and then hopefully a trip to the Murphy Center.

Enough of the arrogance that is posted here, remember the years during Butch's tenure before Montrell, Brian, and Perry? exactly... so calm down everyone. Smile and cheer that we're proud, but don't forget where the program was a few recent years ago as well.

Edit: just read trojanz1 post, I think he said everything I did in one sentence.

We could all grow up just a little, don't ya think?

  2. Turn off the caps.

    Space out your posts.

This was one hard to read thread...

The kids probably deserved what they got. There's always more to the story. It's tournament time, and you're not going to get the same officiating that you're used to during the regular season.

Argue all you wish, but what can change at this point? nothing.

  3. Want to see a program that's gone from excellence to the brink of existence?

    Dyer County High School.

when I marched (graduated in 2001) we were busting at the seams as a AA/Div 1 band. won more trophies in my four years than just about any class.

Our director retired I believe in 2003... and that's when it all fell apart.

enter today.. a pathetic excuse for a band, who can't seem to keep a decent director. It's a shame really. and the administration doesn't want to help out either.

  4. This state tournament run can go either way. I agree with Codeyh's comment. Just like NCAA is showing this year. ANYTHING can happen on ANY Friday night.

    Thanks for noticing. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Anyone know if a local radio station will be broadcasting the game over the internet?? I can't get to DC as I'm stuck working in Nashvegas.. and it looks like WASL/WTRO dropped the ball on internet radio.

  5. To me, this is DC's 2nd biggest game of the year.

Coming off a big win, and being able to re-focus quickly on the task at hand shows great discipline amongst the coaching staff, and the young players. This type of focus needs to happen, and happen quick.

If the NCAA season has been ANY example.. Any team can win on Any Given Night.

DC needs to be on upset watch, because Crockett County's going to be playing for keeps.

DC also needs a solid win with great execution, to keep the momentum going for the playoffs.

  6. I honestly hope DC isn't looking past Riptown to the possibly epic game against Dyersburg. Ripley can very easily steal one away from DC.

It feels good knowing that DC might not have to go to Orange Mound or Frasier for a first round playoff game...

I might just have to take Fri/Sat off work to come 'home' and catch DC/DHS.

  7. Nice to see them earning some banners for the still 'new' gym...

Speaking of DC and runs at State... Anyone hear what Brian Fisk is going to do now?? Lipscomb's season is done, and he just finished a GREAT collegiate career.. curious to see what his plans are!!

  8. Seeing DC's success this year makes me wish i still had my apartment in Murfreesboro.. walking distance to the Murphy center!!!

I'm looking foward to seeing them there though.. just worried that BTW or Liberty is just going to be too much..

  9. If the announcers can call the game without getting excited for their home team hitting a basket, or yelling at the ref because of a bad call.. i listen.

personally, being a dyer county alumni, i have to say the staff from WTRO/WASL 1450 AM do a great job at keeping their composure during the game.

I'm sure EVERYONE remembers the past few years, as the girls went 33-1 ... as the boys team went to state back to back times... i admit, the guys got excited on the air and for good reason!!!

but to my original point, for a loudmouth redneck to get on the air and try to call a game, is a shame... because they get wrapped up in cheering for their kids or their friend's kids instead of relaying the game to listeners.

Just have class about it... do your job... celebrate off the air!! ;)

  10. I'll be upset if the tourney leaves MTSU. I've learned the drive to the Glass House like the back of my hand. I can't imagine anywhere else being able to hold the tourney like the 'Boro does. And don't forget about the new highway that'll go from Dickson to the Boro, and I think back up to Cookeville? maybe? That shows that even the TDOT knows that the tourney should stay in Murphy's Center!

If something is NOT broken, DON'T attempt to fix it.

  11. Dad just came in and asked me to find scores... Anyone know?? That game should have been a BATTLE! I honestly think the winner of this game will bring a gold ball to shelby county again.
