What is the coaching quality at Central? Crawford is a really good playoff coach...and playoffs are a lot different than regular season.

Surely we can find him a coaching job at CPA!

Could it be Jeff Rutledge? I know he wanted the Brentwood job a couple years ago.

Congratulations to a fantastic effort in the district tournament and a great year! Good job Coach Maddox. You proved coaching is still the key and you are one of the best.

Not at all.  I don't get it why would it be?  Oh that's right, objectivity based on truth is a foreign concept to those like you, but it is not to everyone.  I can give credit, where credit it is due.  Some times it is deserved, some times it is not, this is one of those times it is, when other times it hasn't, pretty simple actually.

Sorry...."coach". I forgot how fair and balanced your input has been over the years.

I am very happy to see that they are a school team, and not an AAU or recruited team this year.

 

Not sure why it's changed  up, whether Maddux knew he was about to get busted, the administration made him stop recruiting, or the parents who housed prior superstars, or paid their tuition, realized their own kids could play more, if they stopped doing that.  

 

Whatever the reason, they now appear to play with the same standards the rest of the athletic teams at CPA do.

 

As it should be, and always should have been.  And they still win.  Imagine that...

West TN vs Middle TN.........history tells us Ravenwood should win.

CPA did not pick those players. Those players picked CPA. CPA has not broken a single TSSAA rule in basketball since Drew Maddox arrived. And i am pretty sure the TSSAA is privy to all the rumors of cheating that are spread through out the state. If they are cheating, they would be in trouble. there is no way you can get away with cheating and be on everyone's radar if you are guilty.

The best coach in the state may very well be Ricky Bowers or Ingle Martin. Would Cleveland ever make a run at one of them?

Moonwink at least come up with your own shtick and quit trying to emulate the idiot in Maryville. Crawford wanted to come back to Middle TN, Brentwood needed a coach good enough to compete with the best competition in TN, they got together and both parties are happy. Why do you care?

I told you who it would be and I'm not even in the know in Brentwood anymore. Prove me wrong. Guess what you can't.

you are correct that wood got screwed big time. however crawford is not an innocent. he was contacted by keydel about a month into the season about coming back to bwood. they waited until this week to announce to try to hide that fact.

Second semester.....not a bad choice of an up and comer.

Looks like there is a coach out there that has all the answers needed to beat CPA....except he has no team.

Well it's been a long season and time to move on. I'm glad I reserved a final entry and since my connection to CPA basketball is graduating I will probably never even visit this board again. My association with CPA is solely as a grandfather of a player. I do not go to the affiliated church and my goal is not to bring anyone to the Lord by my association nor am I too worried about presenting the Christian image of the school some of you refer to. To the close supporters of the school/church if I have embarressed you by embattling some of the opponents of CPA on this board and was not reflective of your views/intent toward your fellow man I apologize. I just refuse to allow people to make abusive remarks without recourse. I know very little about basketball and would never have even posted without what I felt was a need to not let inflammatory comments go unchecked.

Congratulations to Jackson SS for a great game and excellant game plan. To anyone that felt CPA supporters did not appreciate that team you were obviously not in the tunnel when both teams left the building. Every CPA supporter congratulated the SS players and the coaches and their parents. They were all humble and gracious and handled their win with class! Do I think CPA could win in a rematch? Absolutely! Could SS win another one? Absolutely. To redandblack 63 that accused CPA fans of blaming late calls...from what I have seen on here that is a stretch. Charges can go either way. The traveling call on Johnson that would have given CPA the ball with a tie game and a little over 9 seconds left....the rule says a player not in control of the ball that goes to the floor to gain control is allowed to slide without a travel call but we will never know if it made a difference. Calls went both ways all night.

To my "buddy" kbrks....I hope some day you get over it. I was told by a knowledgeable source that I have full confidence in *(see what I did there) that you were not retained at CPA because you dressed down some assistants in front of the team....loosing all confidence and respect of the players, parents, coaches, and administration. If that was true there was no way you could be allowed to continue coaching there. You have said you had no vengeful feelings but I was told you would attend games and sit in the stands making notes. I guess you were just trying to learn a few things and improve your coaching skills. I am sorry I can't be more Christ-like concerning you but the bottom line is I don't like you. You present yourself as intelluctually and morally superior to others on the board. I find it strange a grown man with no immediate connection to a particular school being discussed even posts. If I did not have a grandson on the team I would never have posted.....still wouldn't have if not for the need to defend the team. You probably need counselling.

To rulefollower.... get a new schtick! Your claim to fame is you saw a Facebook post from one mom to another. You have brought it up several times and claim to have sent it to TSSAA. Quit stalking FB and get a life. Awfully sophomoric of you.

To Drew Maddox....thank you for all you have done in the lives of everyone you have touched. You have served as a father figure to many young men that lacked that element in their life and have taught them so many lessons beyond basketball. My family will be forever grateful to you and the other coaches that have filled that gap. I agree with you....you will forever be my grandson's coach!

NO..NO...NO...only kbrks has reliable sources and all his accusing sources are truthful. No way they were found non-credible. After this week I will mosey toward the sunset but I reserve one more post before I go.

And BTW................a 3-Peat will still be incredibly difficult but would still be AWESOME! And I don't give a rat's behind what "HE" thinks!
