  1. Not much height at East but very athletic, quick as cats, and shoots from the outside pretty well.

I don't really know anything about East as far as size goes. Walters could dominate this game if they don't have any size. I would say that the Eagles have played a tougher schedule (c'mon, they've played CPA four times. Two close games and two blowouts, looks like.) and that they most likely have better guard play than DC and will be harder to turn over. But schedules can be thrown out the window at this point.

Maybe some CPA or East fans can fill us in on what the eagles look like heighth-wise.

  2. From the other JH fan club member he said JH also cool to Bama- Saban wants to move him from RB that is the fact Jack !

    You are forgetting OSU

Alabama wants to move him to get him on the field. They have 4 returning backs next year, bringing in 3 with this years class....one of them the top HS rusher of all time....and 2 top rated probables for the 2014 class. They really like him but no place to put him.

  3. Dont worry, I'm betting she makes a change at the end of the season and would give 100-1 odds.

I think the problem Ravenwood will run into is that high quality coaches with great experience and success wont work for her because the word is out. You will get either a really young guy with limited experience, or you will get a retread that doesnt have a great pedigree. Franklin and Independence ran into the same problem, although Franklin already had their guy picked out before the firing happened so it didnt matter quite as much. Principals with bad athletic reputations dont get great applicants or a great selection.

She will probably make a change to get the heat off but if you have always made chocolate cake and now want vanilla cake you have to use a different cake mix. It will be more of the same. BTW....she tried to hire 2 young, inexperienced guys the last time but they both knew better.

  4. It is confusing why this problem even exists. Ravenwood's top administrator was at Brentwood when a change was made that has led to the success of the last several years. She,ah the top administrator....:)....saw that athletics and academics can co-exist and work as a positive for the school. I have always thought she....the top administrator.....was afraid a good coach was threatening to her position and she is unwilling to "share the power". One thing is certain, in the coming years if nothing has changed she will have people rocking the boat to get changes made.

  5. DAD1, from your earlier post it is apparent your son was one of the ones that beat my son. I still think he has Rankin's number when it comes to games, like Rankin had Shad's number.

I just wish he had gotten Blackman, like he should have.

That was a special year for us. I'm glad that was the year we got Rdale...maybe a little down. The job Crawford did, especially in the playoffs, was special.....of course us having an NFL OC didn't hurt. Cleveland will not realize how good Crawford is until they make the playoffs. He is a different coach in post season...really special. I guess he got some of that at Riverdale. How many championships would he have had with the tallent at Blackmon over the years? I have no doubt he will be successful in Cleveland...good tradition and from what he says he has good administrative support. Sounds like a really good combination. Go Cleveland!

  6. 1 post about Coach Crawford

0.5 day later... 2 dads of former players of Crawford are on Cleveland Thread showing support for him.

Thanks guys, those were 1st class posts.

and we are starting to see his work take form w/ the program

I'm one of the dad's and by chance I stayed in your town Saturday night. After Ron took the job I talked to him and he told me about the Baldheaded Bistro....I had to try it.....superb!!!! You have a great football coach and a great restaurant! I'll be back to visit both!

  7. Ima former player. And never lost a game during my CHS years. As a alum I'm very excited for the future of Cleveland football. Crawford is a great coach that will have talent every year unlike what he had at brentwood. The future looks bright.

My son played for Coach Crawford on the 2002 Championship team at Brentwood and I know him very well. He has been a great influence on many young lives in Middle Tennessee and is a great man. If you like great defense you are going to love him. You are lucky to have him and Diane in your community.

  8. Oh, contrare! I'm not a CPA hater at all. As far as my credibility, you wouldn't know a thing about that because I choose to keep most of what I know to myself rather than fuel the Coacht fire. I will say that the current athletic atmosphere at CPA is a far cry from just a few years ago. I preferred the days when a CPA kid could play a sport and be a part of a team with a chance of playtime. The only kids I recognize now on the basketball team are riding the pines.

So.....since you don't know the starters they should not be playing?

  9. “Bitter, loser, no integrity, failure, failed coach, marginal coach, ex-coach, no coach, etc.†I love it, because all it shows that you and 2 or 3 others really have nothing to say to offer any type of proof of your side of the issue. All this little group does is simply use the age old ploy “since we can’t prove our point with facts or truth then we must attack the character,†much like untrustworthy politicians or lawyers who use that ploy because winning is all that matters. Sorry, never works, people see right through it and all it proves is that you’ve lost the debate on the issues. So please, for my sake of the debate/argument (as well as others that are like minded), keep on doing what you are doing.

    Tried to warn you......

  10. Would love to hear the story of how Coach Maddux was named the new coach and any other insight you can give on the inner workings of CPA. Maybe you can fill us in on what Drew does within the admissions office and how that directly relates to his basketball team. Any insight would be appreciated. :thumb:

Just go back to last February/March and check his posts. He has no lack of desire to share his story and infinite wisdom.

  11. As a supporter of Brentwood football I got to know Ron Crawford very well the past 10 years. I hope you guys realize what you have now...in my opinion one of the finest men and arguably one of the best football coaches in Tennessee. He is maybe THE best defensive mind in high school football. Enjoy.....support him and love on him cause he is special!

  12. Really all I meant was we will see who was right and wrong about Crawford's politics. If we see basically the same lineup this year (with the exception of graduated seniors, of course) then I will admit that I was wrong and that Crawford really did have the best players on the field. But if we see some big changes and certain players never see the field that got a lot of playing time last year, my point will be proven.

Since I'm old and will probably not only forget who you are and this thread entirely can I count on you coming back if you are wrong and admitting as such? If I'm wrong I will.....if I remember what I was wrong about! Sorry if I jumped you hard but I'm an old timer that remembers 0-10 and 2-8 and what a great job the last 2 coaches have done. There were a lot of bleek times back then. I just know the Winfrey kid played because he knew the offense well and they had no one better. Had there been someone better....let's say an Austen Everson....on the bench I assure you he would have played.
