  1. If I were "The Decider", (Gotta Love Bush), I would at least interview two high school coaches just for grins and giggles...Bud Brandon at Wilson Central and Chris Fryer at Mt. Juliet...Fryer's wife is a TTU grad and either would be a good fit, especially if they really want to win...go ahead, rip me..

  2. The District 9 AAA All Tournament Team:

    Beech:

    Ginny Carroll & Katora Fleming

    Smyrna:

    Alex Adams & Dymon Raynor

    Wilson Central:

Chelsea Burroughs, Jessyca Christopher & Jasmine Hassell

    Mt. Juliet:

Britt Bell, Jordan Nixon, Rebecca Sharpe & Taylor Hall, (MVP)

    Good Luck in the Regions!

  3. Didn't bother to "quote" whichever poster complained about the "environmental" factor. IT WAS 72 degrees at game time in FEBRUARY. Consequently, the storms that followed.

The Wilson Central girls getting there late. Bud said he screwed up. Didn't realize the bridge on East Division was closed and they had to take the long way around, simple explanation.

Coat toss. I told Bud before the game the over/under on his coat toss was the third quarter. He obliged...in the third quarter.

It was a fun game, good atmosphere, two good student sections. My hope is that we repeat all this in the District Finals at Mt. Juliet.

  4. Congrats to LaVergne on their win at Smyrna. Like I posted previously, this team is loaded with talent. From the box score it looks like there was great individual effort on both ends of the floor. Don't think anyone wants to play them here in the closing part of the season and into the tournament.

  5. With the thought of knowing I'm going to get ripped, the title of this thread should be: Lavergne's Girls, Undercoached. Way, way too much talent for this team to be so disfunctional. They have it all, amazing guard play, good inside presence and great athleticism. They seem to freelance too much on offense and play lackluster defense. From an outsiders perspective, this all boils down to coaching and attutide.

  6. In AAA I think you really have to give consideration to Hillsboro. While they were good when Jessica Mooney was there, this year they have a complete team. They have height inside with the two Harrison girls, my guess one is 6'2" and the other 6'4"? Their guard play is more than solid and they have size there too. They probably won't play man all year because they don't have to, just pack it back in the zone and make you beat them from the outside while daring teams to come inside. The guards are good enough to beat you on the fast break and in their half court offense they will beat you off the dribble and penetrate dumping off inside to one of the towers or kick it out for a three. They seem very disciplined and run the system well. I guess time will tell if they can bring a gold ball back to Metro.

  7. Great players, discipline, SIZE (Tall), and really good guard play is what I saw against Mt. Juliet. They packed in the zone on defense, (don't think they played man all night), and challenged MJ to beat them from the outside. With their talent I wouldn't think it would be necessary to ever play man unless they play a team ripping 70% from three land. Don't think you guys can play the "respect" card any longer with this team and would consider Hillsboro a favorite to take it this year. The target is squarely on your back now. Good Luck.

  8. Confused Barronsboy with your query. Mt. Juliet has gone to the second round of the playoffs the past two seasons under Coach Perry. The program is on a major upswing and will continue for the foreseeable future. Maybe I misunderstood what you were saying.

  9. I think from the boxscore that Wilson Central and Beech went into overtime, but it was early in the morning and my eyes are getting worse. What I was saying in my previous post was that Hendersonville has some really, really good talent, with size in their underclassmen. Not to be outdone, Mt. Juliet also has outstanding talent coming up from the middle school ranks as well as Chelsea Brown, Britt Bell and Carissa Peterson who are sophomores. Over the next few years with all of district 9 AAA getting better, the other regions in the state may be taking a back seat. This will prove to be the state title winners district for a while in my humble opinion.
