  17. That is certainly exciting news and I am proud of these girls but I have to ask a question. I had no doubt if they went to a tournament like this they could easily win it. My question is Why did this team , with all that talent NOT play at the 18U A ASA nationals when they had qualified. I know the Xplosion went down to Florida because their coach is connected to USFA and the Xplosion was NOT able to qualify for 18U Gold. ( It is very hard to qualify for gold by the way) I am baffled. A lot of the firebird players are trying for college scholarships. There are no college coaches at USFA , they are all at the 16U A ASA Nationals and at the 18U A ASA Natioals and later at 18U Gold ASA Nationals. There are some talented girls on the firebirds team. ( This team even beat a team -Indiana magic- that did qualify for 18U ASA gold) As good as they were why play in a lower end nationals with no exposure? The best 18U players arent at this tournament to play against. Please dont feel I am being critical. I am just baffled.

Amen Bluesfan......If you’re able to qualify for ASA Nationals, it’s an experience you will always remember.

    Congrats

  18. Coaches nominate players - then other coaches at the meeting vote on them - some make it - some dont - schedule of team, level of competition and if the coaches who are present at the meeting have played against them then they have actual proof of a players profile - just because a player makes it one year does not constitute that that player makes it the next year - but stats are not all they go by - plus most stats are not exactly correct - people outside of coaches usually dont keep stats the same way - some people consider a fielder's choice a hit - again - they are voted on by coaches - they could have been nominated but the coaches at the meeting did not vote them in - so - there would lie why your player did not make the list

So, who exactly was in attendance for that meeting. List . . .

  19. Hickman County is underrated.  They looked really good in district 11.  I think they will put up a fight in the region.  I believe they go up against Hunters Lane.  If their pitcher has the right ump, watch out!

    825673476[/snapback]

I agree with Hickman County. Because I haven't heard much on them until District tournament time. But it sounds like they are playing very good. Some big wins last week for HC. Also Hunters Lane is not ever given much respect around town.
