  1. Going 34-3 before the N. Greene loss lead to Unaka on top for the past year or so. Happy Valley must beat a quality opponent. They can be dangerous, but guards looking at the ball as they dribble lead to missed open shot opportunities and turnovers. I still can't believe the guards go off of screens to their left with their right hand. Amazing....
  2. Not blaming, she and I know what she is capable of. Babb is doing her part so Megan needs to do hers.
  3. I have been doing my domestic duties. The poll is up.
  4. Sorry it took so long. Church, Crown Moulding, Chair Rail and Columns. 1. Elizabethton (9-2) Beat Science Hill, Beat South Greene and Beat Chucky Doak; Seems to be taking care of business; Played teams with a height advantage and are using it well;Play a sorry conference team Tuesday hopefully they can beat who they are supposed to beat, unlike UHS. 2. Unaka (4-1) Beat Johnson Co., Lost to North Greene; Until Megan Johnson decides to step-up and play like a Senior, it may be an up-and-down year for the Rangers; Play a weak UH team Tuesday. 3. Cloudland (6-3) Lost to South Greene, Beat Providence Middle School; Schedule is not on CoachT so who they play is a mystery, maybe its Cranberry, NC or some other lowly private school. Someone fill me in. 4. Happy Valley (6-3) Beat Chucky Doak, Beat North; They have not beat anyone of any substance (UH, Volunteer, Hampton, Chucky Doak and North); Play South Greene and Crockett this week. 5. Hampton (3-4) Beat Crockett Wednesday; That's all I know. Another of the scheduless teams on here; Still must prove themselves.
  5. You sound like a bitter player or former player who has lost playing time to others and you just can't take it.
  6. Sorry about the flood. I'll take the "Ted" way.
  7. I didn't know your wife was in town? Please potential! When has potential ever won a game? Or are you just a misled psycho wandering aimlessly across middle TN fighting for the good of underpaid teachers everywhere? To re-embrace an old quote "Get a CLUE"!
  8. Showing your true bias. Unaka beat one of the AA powers which had already beat Cloudland and still they sit below the two. Your objectivity is clouded my friend being so far away. But even if you rank your beloved Betsy ahead of them, how can you justify the Cloudland ranking when like opponents are involved (Too much emphasis on relatives playing for the Landers). Also, not have seen them play, picking a split with both Cloudland and Hampton is bold. How about a Elizabethton- Unicoi split? I don't think that will happen, because OBJECTIVELY, EHS is better than Unicoi. Betsy better find a point guard and entry passes to Pietrowski and Bush and quit slinging up the 3's so freely or who knows the may not make the region. All Unaka has to do is beat UH or North Greene and a Region birth is in hand. I think your wife needs to take you to the wood shed!!
  9. 1. Unaka (3-0) Buzzer beater to beat Unicoi; still only undefeated team; No outside shooting and still won; Don't know how many times that will happen 2.(tie) Elizabethton (6-2) Lost to Collierville by 8; Beat a Rye Cove Middle School Beat an improving HV team; I guess they proved they could handle the press for 4 quarters. PG still a ? 2.(tie) Cloudland (3-2) Lost to Unicoi; Beat a rebuilding Johnson Co. team; Still seem to be reliant on 2 or 3 girls; but should get better with experience 4. Happy Valley (4-3) Lost to Claiborne Co.; Beat an average JJ Kelly team; Lost to Elizabethton; They need guards to step up & take the heat off of Williams 5. Hampton (2-4) Don't know much about who they beat or lost too; They don't have a regular poster or press coverage to keep me informed Not much has changed since last week & how do I get in on the free food?!
  10. I know cyclonefan indicated a slaughter vs Rye Cove. I need an update. HV played at 4 so I need that score too. Thanks.
  11. I agree with most of your post and I really enjoy the honesty (something you usually don't get on here). I think they go as Crapps goes. If she is hot from outside watch out! If she is not they collapse down on Michaela and make it tough on her. I have yet to see a true point guard that can handle the press and penetrate then dish. Victoria is probably the best option as she can do a little of everything. Sometimes you must play the player who can get it done whether it looks good or not. Coach Chambers has a similar dilemma, however he uses Sallee Taylor as the point, when in an ideal situation she would play a 3. But she protects the ball and makes things happen. I firmly believe as long as teams press EHS they will struggle. They may still win, but it won't be pretty. Just my observations.
  12. Just wanted game analysis type stuff. No guards, Good rebounding, only go as so and so goes. Things like that. Not looking for a Unaka plug. Being a former b-ball coach I like to analyze games of all types. Just read your other thread Sorry!!!
  13. I finally found a score for the Elizabethton game. Thanks. I have to rely on you guys until the afternoon paper the next day. So GLee, after your first official look at the Cyclones what's your take? I'd like to see if our opinions are similar or totally different.
  14. Krich quit making excuses for Unicoi and give Unaka some credit. It seems like you are going above and beyond to stay neutral. Just call it like you see it.
  15. This is typical Tennessee fan talk. Just like in 1986 win Tennessee beat Miami in the Sugar Bowl 35-7 and Oklahoma won the National Championship. Many Tenessee fans said since UT beat Miami 35-7 and Miami beat Oklahoma 28-16 then Tennessee could beat Oklahoma 63-23 and THEY should be National Champions. Come on coach, you know the only way to settle anything is on the floor.
  16. Unaka won on a last second put back by Logan Wagenseller to win by one. Unaka had as big as a 10 point lead in the 1st half but Unicoi came back on some missed 2 footers by Unaka and some timely 3's by the Lady Blue Devils. Ingle was held in check as both teams played good defense. The lack of outside shooting by Unaka put most of the weight of the game on Tiffanie Babb as Unicoi had no one who could guard her. The overall game was sloppy but the fantastic finish made it a game worth watching. Test #1 passed by the Lady Rangers...many more to come.
  17. You have to add the 2 freshman. 32 & 15
  18. And how many State Tournament appearances with all of that talent? Anyone with any sense, especially someone who has coached, should know that 42 & 14 were the 2 best Vikings on the court. If you isolate 42 on the floor, no one in the gym could stop her but her. 42 is, in my opinion, on her way to a nice college scholarship (health & grades pending). And with all of those Vance teams who dominated a few years ago, how many District, Regional or Sub-State titles followed?? Character & Pride go a long way, but you can do that having the best 5 on the floor. Again, just my observation & opinion.
  19. Eliz. was scheduled to play Unaka last time they played in HV Tourney but Wilson changed it.
  20. I never said Betsy wasn't any good...and to think about it, I don't know if I would want to be grouped with those teams, if you know what I mean. All I'm saying is you can't play a tougher schedule if no one will play you. Plus according to CoachT Elizabethton Strength of Schedule is 35th and Unaka's is 4th.
  21. To beat a dead horse when Elizabethton, Science Hill, TN High, etc.. choose to play Unaka.
  22. I wa here, however I saw the middle game for each. TN High for Cloudland and Crockett for Elizabethton. But, with past experiences with Mitchell County at the UNC Camps with Oliver Springs and Unaka, I know they press and run the entire game. This leads me to believe that they both had a problem with the press. In the TN High game, Cloudland had some problems with TN High's press but I really think the coach doesn't know what she is doing. But give Birchfield credit, key timeouts, substitutions and the will to compete kept them in the game. Coachh17 said and I'll quote "TN High wins by 25". With the right people on the floor and some teamwork who knows. In the Elizabethton game, it was over before it started. Crockett's top post did not play (not that it would have mattered) so Betsy was a head taller at most positions and when Michaela & Mariah were on the floor together, they could have volleyballed it back and forth until it went in if they needed to (they didn't). Another curious thing I noticed was on 2 occasions on a fastbreak or set offense I can't remember now, they passed it to Michaela who was 2 feet from the goal and she passed back out for a 3 before looking to see if she was unguarded (which she was). Didn't make sense but....
  23. To answer your question. The major polls in every sport will NOT put a team with a loss ahead of another without a loss, unless their are more than 5 teams. To my knowledge Kingston and Loudon weren't exactly Powerhouses and Crockett and Hampton have, what, maybe one player over 5"10". So theoretically, a team with 2 6'2" posts should be able to shoot lay-ups at will, get every rebound and alter shots with their presence. Not taking anything away from Elizabethton (but the Top spot, I guess) but the "High Quality" teams are a little suspect to me. And if they cannot find a point guard, a team that pressures, ie. Mitchell Co., will beat them. If any thing maybe Cloudland should be rated ahead of them. At least they did play TN High. My "Honest Opinion".
  24. Thanks for the insight on Cloudland. As I said on the other thread, I think those 2 freshman will be special.
  25. 1. Unaka (2-0) - Only undefeated county team; Won 2 games without Coach Chambers 2. (tie) Elizabethton (4-1) - (If you count HoF Games) Lost to Mitchell Co. after blowing a double-digit lead; Looked good vs Crockett; whipped Hampton 2. (tie) Cloudland (4-1) - Beat Crockett in OT; Knocked off AAA TN High and lost to Mitchel Co. by double-digits 4. Happy Valley (3-2) (I think) - Beat an awful UH team; Continued whipping the inferior by Volunteer team; Lost to Science Hill 5. Hampton (?-?) - Lost 3 games; In-fighting seems to be a problem
