  1. Here comes the annual "what about Rick Smith" sub thread again. OC is not exactly in a position to hand pick a coach, and I'm sure Rick would like to get back into HS bball again. Any other susp.. I mean prospects for the job yet??

  2. Check the TSSAA web site @ www.TSSAA.org and follow the links from schedules. There have been some bugs on the girls' schedules, but the boys' link works. Both teams are playing in the same Christmas tourney this year.

  3. Two programs in West Tennessee are definitely worth mention: Crockett County and McKenzie. Each program has enjoyed tremendous success over the past few seasons after almost decades of losing. Their coaching staffs deserve tons of praise for not only building teams, but building programs.

  4. The same reason all the boys' programs struggle: the inconsistency of the pool of male athletes year in and year out in a rural school. Milan, Humboldt, and Trenton are always going to have several athletic players. GC is fortunate to have 1 or 2 every few years.

  5. ODB,

You are nuts!!!!! All reports have Porter guilty of simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time! My gosh, who's a bad example to youth, someone who spreads rumors and can't spell! They are the STEELERS in honor of the steel workers of Pittsburgh, not STEALERS! Wake up and get a life!

  6. McNairy Central: Kenny Walker; tragically killed in a car accident prior to his senior year.

Mike Walker; should be in the NBA, Scored triple doubles v. Penny Hardaway in 2 defeats of Hardaway's National Champion AAU teams.

Neal Walker; great shooter on great teams in 81-83

Bolivar: Ashley Champion: 6-5 monster, currently @ UTC

    Cameron Crisp: currently at TTU

Adamsville: Matt Hoover; Union University standout, played overseas

Hardin County: Corrie Johnson; Mr. Basketball, held state and national 3 pointer records forseveral years

    Justin Burdine; Murray State standout

  7. Any player coming out of Don Meyer's program would make an excellent head coach. The fact that each player did so much teaching during the camps really benefitted each of them.

Would the Lipscomb-Meyer connection work against Pierce or other Lipscomb players?? Seems like the political environment nailed the younger Coach Meyer.
