Does anyone have any information on Hollow-Rock Bruceton? On paper they look to be a contender.
Whitwell vs. Gordonsville has been pushed back till 6pm.

Croz worst nightmare Starting off the season with an L in region play to big brother
Nah that region games gets moved to week 10. If it's for a region championship the national guard may have to get called in. lol

Oh, I don't doubt it. I think we will be 2A eventually. How soon is the question. Our growth has exploded the last couple of years.
Can you imagine Carthage vs. Gordonsville being moved to a week 10 game with a region title on the line. GES has 325 and NMS has 242 so it's going to be close every classification.

It might, and might not. We increased by 50 students in 2 years, and we'll have a similar number in 2 years, but it's likely to drop a little in the classification after.
Croz I see Gordonsville in a 2A region with Carthage, Trousdale, Cannon and Jackson and maybe Westmoreland. If Westmoreland stays in a west region you could take either Monterey or York.

This rivalry has about 3 more years. The next reclassification will end it.

To me Gordonsville has had the ingredients this year to make a deep playoff run, but for some reason it hasn't come together at times.
I think a win Friday night and a possible rematch with Clay Co certainly makes this season feel like more of a success.
South Pitt is always a tough team and place to play and I feel like they are better than what their fans are letting on.

Looks like Watertown had zero interest in traveling next week to Tyner. The looming move to 3A is only making the end of a bad season worse.

The Gville/JB score was way closer than it should've been, but there some reasons for that. Mainly, JB's gameplan. They wanted to run the clock and they did. I think Gville had 3 possessions each half. They scored easily on their first 2. I think the 3rd ended on 4th down inside the 10. In the 2nd half we were eat up by penalties, and the 3rd possession of the 2nd half was when we took a knee.
Thanks for some explanation on that. I was wondering what happened after the first two possessions. Croz any injuries to speak of.

No need to keep creating these threads for the Trousdale games. It’s hard to believe but yes they are pitiful this year. Gordy is 2-32 against the jackets since 1987 but will get win number three next Friday night. Enjoy.
It's crazy to think all the good teams that have come through Gordonsville only 2 wins in the last 34 games. That just gives you an idea of the choke hold Trousdale has had for so many years on 1A/2A football in this area.
I see where Trousdales youth football teams are a combined 14-1 this year so help is on the way. It's just currently in 1st - 6th grade.

Both of these teams have open weeks this week. Before the season started I thought Upperman was the favorite in the region by a significant margin but that's why they play the game. I feel like DeKalb has played better this year than most thought they would and Upperman has played below expectations. Thoughts....

Gordonsville hasn't won this game since 2016, but that looks to change this year. I wasn't impressed with the Gordonsville/Jo Byrns score but I think this game is decided by halftime.
-
Is Gordonsville starting to put the pieces together and play as good as the score shows or is Coalfield having a bad game or not as good as expected.

47-0 Smith County in the third.

Are the milk jugs out in force tonight.

Gville up 27-0 at half.

I don't think Lebanon is in the same conversation with Oakland. Lebanon certainly has better teams than they have had in the past and they are going to benefit in the win column from a weak region, but not sure they are at the Maryland/Oakland level yet.

You mean this Watertown?
Championships State Playoff Championships None State Mythical Championships District Championships 1971, 1976, 1979, 1985, 2018, 2019, 2020 Team Records Overall Record 427-331-13 Winning Pct. 56% State Playoff Titles 0 State Mythical Titles Watertown's best chance at a championship came a few years ago and was probably thwarted by not leaving a certain player at QB. The combination of Gentry closing the gate on Hwy 70, and the move to 3A in a few years, will probably make for some lean years at Watertown.

I'm taking DeKalb in this one. I was impressed with the way they handled the size of Carthage Friday. DeKalb 27-13.

Lebanon wins this one pretty convincingly . With Maynard gone from Cookeville, Lebanon may keep their foot on the gas a little longer. I can't figure Cookeville out. What are they the 5th biggest public school in the state, yet they seem to rarely compete in any sport.
-
These two teams usually play each other pretty well and the winner probably looks to get a home playoff game behind Upperman. Who you got?

I've been here since May of 2002 and have always enjoyed the T.

I was thinking the Gordy faithful probably weren’t very happy after tonight!
H2O you know it's hard to keep secrets in a small town, and the performance on the field certainly could validate some of the grumblings.

Lots of questions/thoughts/grumblings in the stands tonight concerning summer preparation and the heart of an important position on the field for Gordonsville.
Watertown is good enough to win their region while the jury although swayed is still out on Gordonsville.

Talk about a crazy first half. Gordonsville was leading 32-7 at half.
