1999 Goodpasture @ Tyner

Goodpasture won 21-18 in a game that should have been dominated by Tyner because they blocked 2 extra points and Tyner failed on a 2 point try on their last score. Tyner's line averaged nearly 300 lbs., whil Goodpasture's line featured 2 guards who were 5-7 & 5-8 respectively. It truly was a great high school football game.

Goodpasture was a 3 seed in '99. They finished in a 3-way tie for 1st with Lipscomb & Smith Co. & were seeded 3rd.

Can anyone give me the details of the game? It sounds like it was a great one.

Callie Binkley, Goodpasture 2B, signed with Gulf Coast CC yesterday and Amanda Richards, Goodpasture C, will sign with NW Shoals CC today. They are two very fine young ladies who were the only two 8th graders on the 1999 Goodpasture State Champion team.

Goodpasture - Hendersonville has been rained out. They will try again Friday at 3:00 at Drake's Creek.
