  2. Wes Adams for McMinn Central is an excellent sophmore. He is averaging about 10 points a game and has the best basketball IQ. He played for the Tennessee Travelers 15 and under team this summer. As he matures he is going to be an excellent player. From what I understand he is already getting letters from Division 1 programs.

  3. McMinn Central will be a factor in the district and region. Once they learn to play together and get tougher on the defensive end. They have some young players that are going to be very good. They have a big guy in Rob Bledsoe, a tough rebounder in Beau Brown, and a confident point in Ryan Armstrong. They also have a sophmore in Wes Adams that can be one of the top players in the district when he learns how good he can be.

  4. There are 2 teams. Andy Rines coaches one team and their 3 best players are: Grant Dominsc that plays for Bearden High School, Wes Adams that plays for McMinn Central, and Stephen Kite that plays for South-Doyle High School.

Brendan Plavich coaches the other team and their 3 best players are: Stephen McClellan from Dalton, GA, Point Guard (do not remember his name) from Shelbyville, TN, and Sam Shacklett from Dalton, GA.

  5. Yes, Beau Brown is getting some minutes. But when you talk about underclassmen you have to look at potential. Beau is physically mature and is a 6-0 to 6-1 post player. Wes Adams is a 6-1 Freshmen that will probably be a 6-3 to 6-4 wing player that can shoot. Both are going to be very good players for McMinn Central, that compliment each other well.

  6. Natasha Anderson is a tranfer who moved into the York school area from the state of georgia. She is the best player nobody has heard of, and may very well be the best player in tennesee this year. She's a 6 foot pitcher that may throw it about 64 or 65, and thats a legit 64 or 65. Hits it a long way too.

  7. Christina Rayes (don't think thats the right spelling) of kinsgton would have to be right up there with any cf in the state of tennessee. she has all the tools. Cara Stiles from soddy ,does alot of really nice things. I saw both at ut advance camp and they were both really nice players.

  8. some of you always call it recruting? why? most of the time the coaches have nothing to do with it. good programs draw/recruit themselves. if you are a good baseball player in knoxville then everyone assumes you get recruited to farragut when really you go because it has a great program and players get better. same is true in men and womens basketball. if ya live in the tri cities they may pick science hill or women around shelbyville, oak ridge, or sevier county always migrate to those programs. its not recruiting its called wanted to be at the best possible place to get better and excell at a particular sport.

  9. well it would make since if the tssaa would make all teams play with one ball, hopefully a yellow one since that is what all college teams play with. but that would make to much sense . we all know tssaa does nothing that makes sense

  10. I worked the advanced camp at ut and most of the signess/walk-ons were there. One that was there that you have not talked about is the shortstop from erwin/unico county. she's a stud, she will be a good outfielder there. coach weekley is very high on all the walk-on players. As for someone saying he wished he would have stayed at chattanooga i think not. and as most of you know he has been one that has always recruited tennessee kids. weren't alexander brewer reed and the like all from tennessee? so lets don't group him with the previous coach up there. and most of you don't understand this but to play on the very highest level you have to get kids from out of state and in softball the west coast. ask phillip fulmer and pat summitt (they like weekley seem to get the best the state has to offer) they seem to do ok with out of state kids haha and no one says anything about them not recruting the state. i think coach weekley will have the lady vols in the top ten in the nation in a few years. and he will get the best instate players we have to offer. he didn't just get to be the head coach and the hitting coach for the olympic team without knowing something.

  11. well having seen them play alot since coach b has been the head coach there one thing that has been constant and that is he PLAYS THE BEST PLAYERS and if all is even, ability level for example, and they all work hard they will all get playing time. but in sports some play and some sit thats just the breaks. i think most of these girls wanted to be apart of something special and on a really good team. competition is what drives players to get better. and sometimes ya either get better or get left behind. and knowing coach b like i do i would say he told these young ladies that he was bringing in alot of good players. because most true players want to be pushed by other good players. and they want to play with other good players. its all about the program and the team not a couple individuals

  12. Ill have to agree that the southeast tennessee area around athens and cleveland is one of the best areas in the whole state. lets don't leave out meigs and polk counties. wasn't that many years ago when they were the two of the top aa teams in the state.of course they have cycled down. as to someone saying mcminn hasn't ever been there. three years ago they might have won the whole things had not 3 acl tears knocked bryant, weir, and roundtree out of action. that was the year gist was miss basketball. cleveland has the most talent this year but they are young but they have about 8 or 9 that are really really good. mcminn's very talented and latham i don believe will mean a huge diference. she was on a very bad team at sweeetwater and as good as she was couldn't help them win. all she did was score about 1500 there by herself. central is central good kids that work extremely hard and a great coaching staff. meigs will be back up in couple years. they have some nice freshman and eighth graders.

  13. I hope you people are not surprised by TSSAA going to Memphis. When has the TSSAA ever done something that made since. Now we have a state championship on the far end of the state. Whats next one win football team making the playoffs. Oh wait a minute we already have that. Maybe basketball teams that can lose three games from the start of the distict tournament and still win a state championship. Wait we already have that too. Remember people the T$$AA is all about money. It has all those huge saleries to pay that it has to make money any way it can. Did you people know Tennessee is one of the only state high school sports agency that doesn't answer to anyone. The do things the way they want to with out having to justify them. Talk about giving the prisoners the key to the jail. One time I would like to see what those people make. But that won't happen because they are not a public orgnazation. Can you believe that. A state run high school sports orgnazation that can do what ever it wants. I maybe wrong about somethings and if I am and you know for sure please correct me. People never be surprised by anything the T$$AA does, Unless it makes sense.
