  1. Andrews deserved the 8-AAA MVP. Giordani Taylor is a really good player, but he is not in the same category as Andrews...and Franklin Co's coach knows this...or at least he should. Go ask every coach in 8-AAA who they think is MVP and I bet you 6 out of 7 say Emmanuel Andrews, and the other one might even say it now just to cover his tail.

  2. Lawrence County looked like they wanted it more. Shelbyville had no answer for FRESHMAN Emily Williams. Her ball handling skills are amazing. Hannah Dawson foulded out for the second time in the tournament and it caused Shelbyville problems in the last few minutes. The only problem I saw with Law Co winning was during their celebration, they left Shelbyville waiting to shake hands a bit too long, but I guess if I had just won the tourney against Shelbyville...I'd be jumping around too! Anyway, congrats to the Lady Wildcats. Great game and great job beating Shelbyville! Good luck in the region!

  3. Shelbyville's Deonta Twilley was ejected tonight in a game vs. Lawrence County for throwing an elbow on a player who had just committed a foul against him. Twilley will now be suspended for two games...including the 8-AAA Championship and 1st round region game.

I think Twilley deserved a technical foul for throwing the elbow, but I thought ejecting him was too much! Any thoughts on this from those that saw it?

  4. Ok so let me start by saying the refs didn't get Lincoln County beat by 30 points. The Lady Falcons didn't play well at all and deserved to lose, but the officiating at that game was absolutely the worst I have ever seen in 8-AAA...EVER. Those three refs were totally clueless...and it was not just against Lincoln County. I guess I do have to say they were consistent with their terrible calls. Both coaches were furious at times with the officiating. If you were at the game, you know exactly what I'm talking about. I don't know if the 8-AAA officiating supervisor was there or not, but if he was, he has to do something with these three. They do not deserve to do another game.

I know since my team is on the losing end that it seems like I'm just sour grapes, but I think the Shelbyville fans would agree with me. They blew several calls in the boys game as well. At one point in the girls game in the second half, 14 fouls had been called against the Lady Falcons, with just three being called against Shelbyville. Lincoln County is an aggressive team, but come on. I will say congrats to the Eaglettes, they played a great game without Janie Graves. They deserved the win and they are a fantastic team. I just hope that the officials supervisor takes notice of these three officials and does not let them back in a gym anywhere around here.

  5. Lincoln County beat Coffee County last night 51-49 and it was a great finish. LC trailed at the end of the first quarter 13-2 and was 0-11 from the floor. Eventually in the fourth quarter LC took the lead for the first time in the game. The game was tied at 49 when LC got a backdoor layup from Brett Hurst to win the game. For some reason, CC took their last time-out with 3 mins left in the game, and when LC scored the game winning basket, CC could not stop the clock with 3 seconds to go. Anyway, it was an exciting finish and congrats to the Falcons for fighting back and not throwing in the towel after the bad start!

  6. Sounds to me like we have some sore losers on here from Cookeville. You lost the game. Get over it. And as far as Falcon fans being cocky? I've never thought that. I've been to Cookeville and there is an arrogance with some fans there...not all fans, but some. Anyway, this game is over. Congrats Falcons, now get ready for Coffee County!!! Good luck to you too Cavs.
