Are you saying we should also take all the kids in the Memphis area that are from Mississippi and eliminate them or award alternate titles? Should we award an extra softball state title to the team with the most wins within the state borders? After all, the games were played in Mississippi. GET OVER IT. What about FB? There was a team from Mississippi that won a TSSAA DII - A FB state crown either this year or last. Do we give two state titles then? That Bingham kid is fast a poo through a goose and deserves every title he got and NO ONE else should get another one.

Originally, the A Championship game was CPA vs. DCA. However, if the DCA tailback is hurt, it is anyone's championship to win. My bets are Boyd B if Wooden is down.

ok, they moved for a church. they moved across the street. ok ok. Bottom line, they are in MS and shouldn't be allowed to play in T$$AA, period. That isn't to take anything away from the win. I give them all the congrats in the world for a job well done. But, they should play MS.

Look, if just over the border is ok, then what about 5 miles. What about 10.. 20 .. 30? Just use the borders of the state. simple.

um, yea!! T$$AA football is basically silly. The fact that a MS team has a championship is just an ! to that. 8 divisions is a joke, but we all know who to blam for that -- Vador. However, if the T$$AA could maintain control of its schools and attempt to be a voice of reason, we wouldn't have this problem.

TSSAA has long forgotten to care about the students in the schools which it governs. however, there are two ways to lower ticket prices:

A) raise the amount of money each school pays on the front end.

tell darth vador and his house of horrors to drop their lawsuit.

The cost of tickets and parking is crazy. Student rates are insane. But, T$$AA has to survive somehow.

I think we need to look at the cause of the ridiculous ticket costs and not just the result of higher prices. If you eliminate the cause, you eliminate the need.

First, BA can form its own league with McCallie and Baylor. That will eliminate 90% of the problem right there.

Second, well, the cost of catastrophic insurance is probably high. They could set it up to where each school covers itself. This would not be popular.

Third, have a T$$AA fee per player to play. Such as each player on every T$$AA sport pays 5 bucks for the season. This would also not be popular. In fact, I am not sure this would cover their ticket revenue, but it might allow them not to charge such a crazy price.

Last, people could not go to the events. This is also not popular. I think attendance was hurt this year in the region and district tournaments. Such a ridiculous price.

Think of teachers:

3 district games: $15

3 region game: $18

State games plus parking: $25

How is a teacher supposed to go support their kids? take out a loan.

that can be summed up like this:

TO WIN in Div I or Div II individual tourny is often the same.

TO PLACE in Div. I is MUCH MUCH more challenging than Div. II.

In other words, the best DII can go with the best DI. However, the 4th or 3rd place guy in DII is likely not nearly as good as DI. 5th and 6th in DII is a JOKE!!!! They really should only have 3 places in DII.

McCallie and Bradley WIN

Looks like McCallie made some GREAT COACHING decisions pushing 40 though 60 up a weight. I know they didn't get wins there, but it kept it close. Lets hear that story. Was it a good decision, or one that backfired on McCallie and they overcame it anyway. Either way, McCallie won the thing.

here is a question:

For years, everyone has known that the best wrestling overall is in chattanooga. Outside, Ryan, Nashville really has no team with tradition -- maybe overton. Memphis, well Memphis and Knoxville duke it out for the worst city every year. But this year 3 of the 4 dual team finalists were out of Chatt. Is this the first time that has happened? Or, have they ever had 4 of the 4 in the finals? State Duals is pretty new. I am curious as to the Chattanooga domination in this new thing.

this thread is funny. Not to many people going further back than 3 or 4 years. Shazzon was a bad mamma jamma. You are forgetting about guys like David Vance (McC) or Carletello (sp) from Ryan. Even a Bubba Miller would have to be considered (guess I am showing my age). No one that I have seen has mentioned anyone from before the late '80s. Memphis schools have not even been mentioned. Of course, other than Germantown, do they wrestle in Memphis? Anyway, we need some old guys to come on here and give us some perspective on this one.

Remember, the above guys wreslted in the pre coward era where everyone wreslted together instead of the cowards pushing out the Ryans, McCs, and Baylors. Some of the "modern" guys would not have won more than one championship in the old days.

I am weighing in at a cool 260. When you knew me, I was around 240, lost to about 215 and well, the rest is history. The girls dig it.

oh yes, we had us some fun. Chief spent most of the time in, well, we'll say an altered state of mind. I am not sure if he went to any meetings. In fact, I think I am the only person who went to more than one meeting out of all of us. We all had fun though. Burbon Street is dirty, but there are plenty of distractions to keep your mind off that. Things are going well. Hope the offseason brings many fine recruits who can block, run, and are smart enough to learn all about the letters!!!

The real reason CoachT needs all the moderators is b/c he fired me. not that I didn't deserve it, but it usually takes 3 or 4 people to replace the great ones.
