  1. Your coach is a member of the TFCA, thus he shafted his own players. Instead of gripping about it on this web site, talk to your coach and tell him you don't want them to have an all state team. He has a voice in the TFCA. It's a possibilty that TC will not have as many on the AP All State team as they should because the coach refuses to turn in statistics to the media. I noticed that the Tennessean has no statistics from TC, but hopefully that will not affect who should be on the AP All State team. In my opinion a coach is responsible for promoting his players.

Why should the coach be responsible for promoting his own players? That aint his job. He is hired to win football games and I have to say our coach does one heck of a job at that. Did anyone see the state championship game? Welch had 203 yrds rushing 4TD's. Dillehay had 157 rushing and 135 passing 3TDs. B.Satterfield had over 100 yrds in punt returns. Them good enough stats for ya? So yall go ahead and shaft our players, it's gonna be ok, but I that kicked everyone's tail that they lined up against this year. Take that into consideration.

  2. They souldn't even have this poll if it is gonna work out this way. I don't care if the coaches did not turn in stats or not, some people needed to be on the team. This just goes to show how invalid the results of this poll are. Even though TC has had people on it in the past, if they cannot get everyone to go in the same direction then they would be better off not even having their all state. I know that they voted on the team before the state championship game, but all they had to do is to watch the game and that should be evidence enough that we got shafted as did many of the best teams in the state.

  3. That slogan is the Bulldog's...I have used that for years.

By the way.........I predict that the arrogance of the TC fans will exist for more than five years. Besides "Dodgeball" Satterfield won't stay put in 1a if things get moved around on classes.....watch and see....let here comes the wrath!

Man, you guys up there are still talking trash after getting spanked by the jackets. I thought we might have earned some respect. Dodgeball? Haha. We are where we belong and should have been the whole time. We moved to 3A. Haha. Dodgeball. Boys, move up there and see how you like it. We went to 3A for money. Smith Co., Macon Co., Portland, those games will bring 7 thousand at least. Goodpasture and David Lipscomb have about 500 fans combined. Man we raked in the dough in 3A and went to the semis our first 2 years, only lost 2 games in 01 and 1 in 02. We just chalked up our 6th state championship. Dodgeball. You boys just remember you got to come to the creekbank next year and opponents on the creekbank have about a "fat kid's chance in dodgeball" there. That is if you get there.

  5. ur rite snoball Coach Satt. is a very strict coach and he won't have kids who aren't willing to get out there and get with it ... with that said it doesn't do much for the team's numbers but that's probably the reason TC has been so successful over the years. It's pretty safe to say if you play football in Trousdale Co. then you know and love the game. If all his players are dedicated and willing to go through his conditioning then I'd say it's better to have those kids. But it would be nice for Trousdale to pick up a couple extra guys just so everyone will get off their backs bout runnin up the score....maybe with a third string people stop all the whining... but then again if they're still winning like they are people are still gonna hate. It also helps the team out when those extra toes are removed :thumb:

Every winter Coach Satt opens up the door to all who want to play. I say that will probably start when they start weights which, if I know him well, next monday. Yeah, they don't rest long in Hartsville. Anyway, there will be about 55 guys start in the winter. Gradually those numbers will decrease and there will be less than 40 in spring practice. When the summer comes Coach Clint cranks it up with many long hours. What is left by season is about 30 players. HOwever, these players are hard as rocks, tough, and better conditioned than anyone in the state. They often win games early in the year because they use the no huddle to gas their opponents. A small turnout for football numberwise is not seen as a bad thing by Coach Satt as long as you have about 11-13 guys who are tough and can go both ways. All you need is 11 good ones. TC looks at teams with 70 guys and think to themselves "their program can't be that hard."

  6. ACDC FAN, I think if you have a job with the Star you should take responsibility and have your picks in on time. I also stand by my comments that all Cloudland people can say is that Hampton is supposed to be in 2A. Well, if they were supposed to be in 2A, they would be there. It's not some big conspiracy. I am going to love the next 2 years. The beatings that Hampton will lay on Cloudland (in every sport) will get worse and worse.

I did not see the 2001 Trousdale Co. team play but I did see this year's team play. And I am quite positive that the 2001 Cloudland team would beat THIS YEAR'S Trousdale team and they would have went on to win state.

Well I've said it before and I will say it again. This year's TC team was not great compared to the TC teams of the past. OUr 97 and 98 teams were the best 1a teams that I have ever seen. Ever. This years players were not the athletes we had back then. Our first two seasons in 3a in 01 and 02 would have beaten this years team by at least 14 if not 21. This year's team was solid, played very hard, and made few mistakes. I'm quite positive that the Cloudland team in 01 would have not beaten TC in 01. TC made it to the 3a semis and beat the defending state champs that year, ending their 29 game win streak. I wish we could travel back in time and see, cause I would bet my truck on it. That mountain, run the ball every play, type of football is soo easy to stop, evidence of what happened to Hampton this year. They got blanked and those teams like that will continue to get beat if they refuse to change into a more modern offense. Football evolves like everything else and you must be willing to change

  7. Vader, Actually on the Coalfield game, my first pick was my true pick. That Thursday night, I forgot to call my picks in so Jamie and Tim made them up for me that week and made "me" pick Coalfield. Sometimes I like to fire teams up before games to try to make them have better results. I was going to pick Trousdale big over Hampton to fire the 'Dogs up but couldn't do it. Sometimes when you see crazy picks by someone in the paper, it usually means they weren't there the Thursday of picks and someone gave them something nuts. I'm excited about Hampton's team in two years and next year, boy they are going to be good with the expirience they have. They may have a shot at state down the road. I stand by the 2-A comment however. Not to support Cloudland, because I thought it was bad taste what they were saying by the fence in that game. I think this Hampton team would've made the second or third round in 2-A this year, which is more than we could've said about most of the 2-A teams in that region in a long dang time.

And 419, I really believe Cloudland's 2001 team would've beaten Trousdale's 2001 team, or come close. Even if they wouldn't have beaten them, I honestly think Cloudland would've ran for 300-plus yards against them. Heck, I think they would've ran for 300 yards on Dobyns-Bennett that year and probably got beat. Cloudland's line averaged 305 that year and they had three quality tailbacks and Byrd which is the reason I say that 419. 419, prior to the season Cloudland whipped up on Tennessee High (who had an unbeaten season up until the quarterfinals in 4-A) thanks to their running game and massive size. Those in this area can vouch for how tough TN High usually is. I'm not taking anything away from TC that year - but Stanton did say that. I'd say he meant it based on the fact that when they played Cloudland the year before, they would've beaten them 40-something to 6 or whatever it was, but they couldn't run past Byrd who was a freshman. Byrd gave Corey Anderson all he wanted. But Corey Anderson was a monsted on the line and gave CHS all they wanted too. Austin-East was awesome those two years. 419, I doubt you saw Byrd play - this is the reason I say what I say - he was good enough to change some games around by himself.

Their problem that year was a lack of a passing game and a lack of pass defense. Ezell-Harding's passing offense in 2001 was the best high school offense I had ever seen. I knew Erik Davis would have a good career at Vanderbilt when I saw him in the BlueCross Bowl that year.

Austin-East was just dominant both years. Their last year in 2-A, with the same D-1 players, they lost to Alcoa big (that was the year Alcoa beat Maryville and won the state, or was it the year after) then they move up in 3-A and win the state. That tells you how tough 2-A is.

Anyways, I'm going to shut up on this thread - shut it down, the season's over! - CONGRATS TO TROUSDALE. It's a shame that Dillehay didn't win Mr. Football. He was the best HS quarterback I've seen since Byrd and he really deserved it numbers wise.

Wes Satterfield, Coach Clint's older son, was a better quarterback than Dillehay. Everyone in TC knows that. I don't agree with you one bit that Cloudland would beat TC in 01. If you think we were good this year, the 01 team would have beaten this team by at least 14 maybe 21. You obviously did not see us play that year, and I wish you would have. Too bad. You would probably think differently. Plus we had the great T.T. Harper, who won 3A mr. football the next year with Wes Satt by his side. Harper was amazing, kind of like reggie bush for usc. They were a great duo. However, AE did hold them in check pretty good.

  9. I do not know how many seniors Trousdale will lose but with only 27 kids on the team you would have to think that next year would be a down year for them.

They only have about 30 players each year anyway. I do think they will lose alot and have to regroup. Time will only tell if they will be a contender next year. But in 1A I would never count them out. Coach Satt will have them boys playing at the best of their abilities. I bet they will be back in the weight room next week. Matter of fact, I know they will, if Satt is anything like he use to be. Always hungry for more.

  10. WOW! Way to top off a great season. No one deserves it more than this LA team. Great game. The team has made history.

    GO HOG-EYE!

Wilson Cates played an amazing game. So did Reeder and Vaughn. The offensive line deserves alot of the credit. They controlled the game.

i agree with that congrats to a great season, but honestly who would have thought that livingston would have made it this far? Hats off to Cates,Reeder,Vaughn, and the offensive line. Cates has my respect, did anyone see the reverse option on the three yard line in the second quarter? That was one of the best plays from a QB i have seen since Payne from Trousdale in the state championship game in 97,98.

Congrats to Livingston on a great season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. You aint seen a crowd till you've seen a good matchup at the creekbank!!!!!!!!! TC has the most loyal fans I've ever seen in my life, good luck to them tomorrow too I'll be there early ready to go.

TC fans are the craziest people ever. It is entertaining just to stand on the fence in the endzone and hear them yell at the opposing team. They heckle the players all game long calling them out by name. I've never heard some of the names and curse words they use. That is one reason the creekbank is what it is. The creekbank is like any other field, till you have played at it and felt the electricity in the air. IT is a different type of atmosphere and the fans make it so.

Hey SC also has some good fans, especially that student section. However, as a TC fan, I know that they don't get to much to cheer about when they play Hartsville. Haha, just joking, but seriously. The TC/SC game is always a great atmosphere that everyone should make an effort to watch if you haven't seen the two play yet. Do it before you die.

  12. Austin East's coach at that time, Stanton Stevens (one of the state's best and currently at Oak Ridge), said that Cloudland would've beaten Trousdale.

dbras, in 2000 Cloudland lost 26-8 to an Austin-East team in 2-A that had two Division 1-A signees that season.

Without the two Division 1-A signees on the team, Austin-East beat Trousdale 33-7 the following season before winning the State Championship.

I was covering the Mr. Football/State Championship Preview banquet the Monday after that game and heard Stanton tell Mike Lunsford directly that Cloudland would've beaten Trousdale that year because of the Byrd-man.

And Vader, not one time have I taken up for Cloudland this year or put down Hampton. I didn't talk bad about the Dogs after the TC game. As a matter of fact, I built up the Dogs all year long... if you read the paper, you know that.

    --- Wes

Ain't no way on God's green earth that Cloudland would have knocked off TC in '01. That statement is rediculous. TC beat the defending state champs, Portland, in Portland ending a 29 game win streak the week before they played AE. The game was only 7-0 at halftime and kind of fell apart for TC in the second half. Stanton was probably boosting Lunfords confidence. I hope so. Surely he doesn't really believe that. As for signees, there were 3 D1 players playing at AE that night. One of them is Corey Anderson, UT's starting fullback. He is 6'3 275 and runs about a 4.6. Oh yeah, he played DT for AE. That is how fast that team was.

  13. Kevin Smithson (QB) from Temple

    Seth Skogen (WR) from Temple

    Josh Smith (FB) from Temple

All three of these guys are worthy of the award.

.....Well dont get me wrong but temple has very good athletes and size too and i have the respect from them very much. But in an offense based around the passing game defenses have a step up on them. But i agree with those predictions and skogen and smith are just juniors!!!!

But if you are going to do all state predictions look at who shut them down or did the best effort of doing so. my prediction for the cb was #11 from trousdale who covered skogen and from what i saw he did well. in there region (temples) cb's didnt do so well. but if temple was to go deeper into the playoffs i wish i could have seen how skogen could have done.

  14. You guys just had the team, big ,strong ,fast ,phyical and very well coached, Hampton is young and will get better, you showed them where the bar is. Your team and fans showed nothing but class and you deserve to be champions. I,m not one to hide and not stand up to the things I'' ve said. You deffineately were the better team. Only one question, why in the heck is the Dunn kid not a Mr football finalist. You have several players deserving of all state. Great Job and good luck.

Yeah this message is for pujo and pujo alone. I see now that you are complementing our team as you should. Heck this week you had me thinking that we were going to play the Tampa Bay Bucs with Mike Alstott at fb and Cadillac Williams at tb. You claimed that we would see what power football really is and that we would not be able to stop you all. Well you were wrong, very wrong. You are eating crow and spitting feathers. Power football? Power football? What do you all call power football. Let me ask you a question, and it can be retorical because we all know the answer. Who showed who how to play power football? Who hit who? Who, at the end of the game, didn't want any more? Who won the hitting contest? Well all know the answers, there is no need for you to respond. This isn't even one of TC's best teams. Still we do the same things year in and out, we took the fight to those big boys. Heck even our receivers were running over your defense. #18 got trucked by a 155lbs. wide out. Before you, pujo, start running that mouth again, you better be able to back that stuff up. Come out of them mountains and play some real football.

Now after saying that to pujo, we respect yall very much. We wish yall luck in the future and I thought you all had a good atmosphere for high school football. As I said, good luck in the future and thanks for the hospitality that we were shown.

  15. I don't much think you would have backpeddled through 1a . You barely beat a FRA team that didn't even make the playoffs in region5 1a. The better privates in 1a destroyed FRA. South Pitt or Cloudland would have gave you a heck of a ballgame. Boyd and CPA were real strong.

The FRA was crazy. We had 3 TD's of 30 or more yards called back and it had rained the day before and all that afternoon. They didn't even have time to paint the field. We would have moved through 1A in '02 like a hot knife through butter. We went 13-1 in 3A that year and lost in OT in the semis on a 2 pt conversion that Fulton got across the goaline. They turned the ball over 4 times in the state finals and still only got beat 7 points the next week. I saw the 1a state championship, CPA was the slowest team to ever win a state title. T.T. Harper would have had 5 TDs at least against them. Boyd had like 9 downs inside the 10 and didn't even score. I'm sure we could have punched one of those in.

  16. Hampton fans, I just want to let yall know that this TC team is not even one of the best we have had. I don't know if they would rate in the top 20 all time at TCHS. The team of ours that got beat in the 3A semis a couple of years ago that had T.T. Harper and Coach Satterfield's oldest son, would have backpeddled to the burro in 1A. This team that ya'll are playing friday is not in that league. However, I still don't know if ya'll realize what you are getting. This team just bumped down after playing four years in 3A. They have a lot of seniors and know how to win. They are still very athletic and are well coached and prepared. THis ain't our first rodeo either. Look for a close on friday night, but, if I was a betting man, my money would be on Hartsville.

  17. I have a feeling TC will come out and try to pass a lot. Use their speed to their advantage and all that. But what I would like to see the most is them come out and not throw a pass and run the ball right down Hampton's throat. Now, I don't know how good Hamton is, and you don't know how good TC is, but everything will shake out Fri. If TC comes out firing on all cylinders I think we will win, but I don't know what to expect from Hampton, except for a lot of running. For that matter, I don't know what to expect from TC. But wouldn't it be nice if those Jackets could run like the old days, I've heard enough of "This is how power football is supposed to be played" by these Hampton fans. I always thought we invented power football way back in '22 with our first state title? Maybe they just teach that only in history class in Hartsville. :thumb:

  18. Why does it matter when our guys are leaving and what venue they are going to be doing thier walk-throughs at. I really don't think you will get any creditable info like that on here. I would say that the only ones who know where practice will be held are the TC coaches themselfs. When I played, and we went to Onida to play, we (the players) didn't know where we were practicing till we were about 30 min from where we were to do it. Its kinda like millitary warfare that way, you get the briefing on your mission while you are on your way. Details on the fly.

But I have been wrong before, good luck finding loose lips to sink ships.

Hey that is always the case with Coach Satt. He is always paranoid that somebody is gonna see him practice. He won't even let the kids know who they are scrimmaging in the fall. I hear he burns every handout that he gives to the kids too because the garbage in Hartsville goes to Carthage and he thinks they are out to steal his secrets. What makes anyone think that he will give out his agenda during the playoffs. Word in Harstville is that the players don't know when they are leaving or on what day. I don't think even the assistant coaches know when, even if they do they will be fired if they tell. "A slip of the lip, sinks the ship" he use to tell us back when I played.

  19. i know TC doesnt have anyone that heavy but whens the last time you saw a 300lb lineman catch a 185lb back? we run and pass and play good D. just a good allaround team, doesnt mean we cant be beat though. gl to you guys and congrats on a great season no matter what happens friday night! :thumb:

Last time I saw a 300lb lineman catch a running back was Michael Scriggs in the state championship for TC. He ran USJ's quarterback down from behind all the way across the field. He was the #2 recruit in the state though.

  20. Was that against RBS? :thumb:

And no it wasn't against RBS. They set the record in the state championship in '97 and broke their own record in '98 verses Clarksville Academy and USJ respectively. They also racked up over 400 in the '98 semis verses South Pitt who had Eddie Moore, an all-american linebacker at UT and playing for the Dolphins right now. Now that we have added the pass, you better be well coached and prepared. Time will tell

  21. First of all,yes we have saw the GV film and several more, the people who need to know about you're team and all the players and everything you do, are well aware. You don't have to tell us anything, and we don't need to tell you anything. Your coaches will know all about us and likewise. Were not in shock. If we can beat you we will,if not. big deal. It won't be the end of the world. You are a highschool team, you are beatable. If you think you have a college team, why in the heck did you drop to the lowest classifacation. If we don't beat you ,I hope to heck ,someone does. You need to be brouht back to earth.

I never claimed that TC was worldbeaters. They are not. This team would have been waxed by the Hartsville 3A teams that went to the semis. Nevertheless, they are in 1A. The difference in my mind is that you claim that if you don't win it "won't be the end of the world". In Hartsville, however, IT WILL. Football is life, this is not a game. It is much more than that. Our kids know that. THey have spent their entire lives watching their brothers and cousins win the state, idolizing their favorite players, and dreaming each day since kindergarden about taking that gold ball in their hands and kissing it. Our kids will play as if someone burnt their house down to obtain that goal. I'm sure yours will do the same. As for the comment about our kids not hitting hard in a previous post, you tell me after the game how hard they hit. We will find out who wants it most, and you hampton fans better hopes it keeps raining and that the field is a slop come fri. It might swing the advantage in your favor.
