how are you all gonna hang with our speed? from what everyone has been saying, you all arent very fast.... physical but not fast.... those things do catch up to you.

I am a Smith Co. fan and let me tell ya that Speed doesnt matter when you have 3 or 4 opposing jerseys in the backfield on every play and thats what the Big tigers will do. But i dont see where everyone says that Macon is slow. They dont look like slow polks to me.

Falcons you better be ready to play physical and I hope you can tackle because that JOSH HUDSON is a slippery little booger.Im not sure you boys in Knox can be to physical since no one can touch you.

OK to all of the Macon fans and BigB,

When was the last time Macon beat Smith Co.(before this year) or had a postseason appereance.Its been a while we looked at yall as a Cannon Co., Jackson Co. or even a RBS. Nothing at all...TC is the team we played the next week after MC and they beat us all the time so we was DEFINATLY looking past yall and to them,Why wouldnt we? No matter who the team is they always look foward to the big games and dont concentrate on the gimmes.

Macon you are much improved and CONGRATS on that. Smith Co. came up there with the BIG head and got shut down PLAIN AND SIMPLE. Its a different ballgame this time cause we know its not a gimme and to only look at MC. Im not taking anything away from MC because i think they are avery good ballteam and deserve to be region champs and were they are now. You do have the talent to beat SC and we know that NOW. But SC still wins 35-14 they want it to bad.

MC has NEVER been a dominant team or to Beat SC year in and out...So to say we wasnt overlooking them is just crazy.

If Macon does beat SC i will be pulling for you guys all the way

Home field advantage is alternated between regions every year. Last year Crockett won region 6 and it was their (6 3-A) year to host. This year was region 5's year to host, so who ever won region 5 would gain home field advantage through out the playoffs. Greenbrier won region 5 3-A, going 6-0, so they get to host this year. Being ranked in any poll other than your region poll doesn't have any effect on who will host.

 

That's the way it is set up by the TSSAA.

Our line played great and Michael Wilmore is just AWESOME... Ive seen some really good backs but Michael is the best at staying on his feet than ive ever seen,PERIOD. THE KID WONT GO DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!

DEFENSE PLAYED GREAT our starting Cornerback played last night that didnt play in week 10 and that was big for us defending the pass(and hes only a soph).it was a big difference when Smith has to play for something total yrds in the 1st game 380 and in the 2nd 160. way to go owls

you better have them helmets strapped on tight cause were coming and it aint gonna be pretty for ya. When #30 lays that hit on ya its all over. we are a different team now that we know that yall aint the same ole Tigers( were coming to play this time )

Even though we won this against Peetwn we didnt play that well on offense.

My brother #4 dropped two passes that should have been TDs ( and that doesnt happen) and a ball was hiked over the punters head that resulted in a fumble and a TD for Peetwn if we fix that the score is 48-13.... I know about excuses and complaining, just letting ya know what could happen friday night after we fix those couple of prob

Don't you know that if he can kick it into the endzone every time, there won't be any return.  That should be Macon County's best defense against a return....kick it into the endzone every time.  That's a no brainer.

 

I doubt seriously he can kick it into the endzone EVERY TIME, or if he could, nobody would know if Macon Co. had problems covering kicks.

This is what I'm saying. Not saying the kid isn't a good kicker. Not trying to downgrade him or anything. Just simply making a statement that he can't put the ball anywhere he wants to like ya'll believe or it would be in the endzone. He's a good FG kicker though. Great leg strength there.

ANYTIME you kick the ball to a player you have a chance of it being returned regardless who touches the ball, so if this kid could kick it out of the endzone EVERYTIME, the only sensible thing to do is let him NAIL it. And you have nothing to worry about on special teams.

The only reason to kick it up high is to run the time out at the end of the game so they dont have a offensive possession, that is if you have a kicker like that.

Cedric Wilkerson of Northwest should be a front runner for the 4a Mr. Football award. 2028 yards on 227 carries and 23 TD's. The kid never comes off the feild he is a super athlete. He has overcome the lose of his father just this year and dedicated the season in the memory of his father. He does all the kicking duties for the vikings and also plays saftey on defense. He has 70 or so tackles and 4 int's. He should be a front runner for this award.

Never heard of Cedric but i mostly keep up with 3a football.

GOOD LUCK to him on his season and his canidacy for mr football.

My heart goes out to him and his family, i really hope they are doing well.

I will say this....Macon County will have to play disciplined this week ( which I'm pretty sure they can do...not saying they haven't been )....considering the offense that these other Yellow Jackets run....discipline is a must on the defensive side of the football for Macon County. Morgan Hix- Smith Co. BEST TE/LB in the state. He is definately a head knocker with 106 tackles and a great blocker. He is a blocker for Michael Wilmore which has 1535 yards(4th in state),NUFF said about his blocking. He also has 29 catches for about 450 yards (leads team) so he can catch and run. AWESOME PLAYER

Portland has a good chance, They will beat Walker Valley prob by 21 but when they come to Smith Co it will be a different story. Smith Co. had a TD called back because a Portland player had grabbed a SC player by the back of the jersey and they called holdin on us for some reason. The TD came back plus 10 yards for holdin, That upset our coach off when he seen they called that on us and started raisin cane, that is where one of our unsportmanlike conduct came from 15 more yards back. So instead of a TD we went 25 yards back. If that wasnt the case

Portland played one heck of a game and deserved the win, they took advantage of our second string corner and passed on us all night(very smart football i might add). Our starter will return this week and our secondary will be back in order after Mirrorman jumps that butt for them.

Im not making excuses because Portland played an outstanding game.

Congrats Portland caint wait till ya come on down to BIG CARTHAGE, and meet the MIGHT OWLS again.

Considering how both teams played i left the field very pleased with a loss, It was the BEST game ive seen all season.
