  1. you mean where we get down and pray?

No, before the home games when we took the field to take grounders and fly balls and what not. We would turn all the music off before we took the field and no one on the team spoke and neither did the coaches during the entire round. The infield had this really complicated throw around session and then coach would hit balls to the outfield; first two throws to second, one to third, one to home. Since no one was speaking, the cut off men had to line themselves up with the correct base and they would decide whether or not the ball needed to be cut off or not. I always thought it was a pretty cool drill that got us focused and ready to play and helped us get into the visitors head a little bit.

  2. Baylor, Mccallie, and webb... thats it now. we play 2 games against baylor and mccallie

Cool, does Coach W still have the team do the silent warm up before home games?

  3. I played for Webb a few years ago (class of 04). Nice to hear they should do well this year. What schools are in the East region now? When I played it was Webb, Catholic, Notre Dame, Baylor and McCallie but I've heard ND and KCHS both left DII.

  4. Regular season doesn't mean anything unfortunately...

As a former Webb player I can assure you that the seeding between these three teams (Baylor, Webb, McCallie) has always been important.

That was all I could find.

  6. Hey guys let's don't try to turn this into a Smalley v Simpson thing. Seems to me some want to prove their guy is the "best" by knocking the other guy. Smalls is too classy for that as is Simpson. There is certainly reason to differ on opinions but don't do it by knocking the other guy. I would take either one of them( along with Higdon, Farrow, Williams, Green, Henry, Sorahand others) and be happy

Hey BriC--where are you in school these days?

Trinity University down in San Antonio, TX. I'm redshirting this year.

  7. Simpson at Baylor has the area's best stuff, and I don't want to hear about Soddy knocking him out of the game in 30 degree weather on opening day. Smalley is a close second with great stuff as well. Simpson will be a legit SEC pitcher in a couple years...

Simpson isn't even the best pitcher at Baylor, let alone the area.

  8. As of now Webb is 3-0 against respectable opponents in Karns, Central, and Oak Ridge. Webb picked it up against Karns in the second inning and against Central (the game they played later) when AJ Kirby went down to an ankle injury and was carted off the field, but the Jordan Wormsley threw awesome to pull out the victory 10-6. The other pitchers from Webb are strong too including Gosselin, Kimmons, and Blair. And from my understanding Baylor and McCallie have some good pitchers this year too. But we will see when region play begins.

    ILOVETHISSPORT,

    do you play for Webb?

  9. Catholic has alot of holes to fill with the departure of the Sheridans, Ishii, Bentley, Hermanson, Smith, and Horton. The only person they have back that made an impact last season is Nick McFadden.
