  1. Real life experience says that those small town kids that actually leave the small town have a hard time adjusting to life outside of the small town

Well..I don't know your "real life experience", but we have had kids several work in the White House and several more attend Harvard.  You can take shots at small towns...but at the end of the day you are still sitting at home and our small town football team moves on to play another great small town football team.  Losers are still Losers no matter what excuse they have, or what cheap shots they take.

  2. Don't want to get off topic guys, but just wanna say something Uknoit touched on the other night. Thanks to all service men and women present, past and future. Without you guys, we would not enjoy the freedom of Friday Night Lights. A big Thanks to all of you who have served.

    Amen

  3. I'm getting some feedback in the Ju Ju Hut.  So far the spirit animal appears to be a Hawk.  Think he is flying around Rockwood's practice field getting info.  Or it could just be me flying around in this hut....?  I hope this thing doesn't get affected by the stripes and they let the players on the field decide the outcome.  We are all too deep in the season to have anything decided by something controversial.  Course we are all human, so we all make mistakes.  Still, you work year round for these moments.....!  Hungry Tigers....Hungry Injuns'.   Hope the arrows are sharp and are true to their target.  Kippee Ki Ya......Amigos.

    Kazakara

That peace pipe may be getting to you Kazaam....I am just glad we are not playing a dern private school a third week in a row...I hope Hampton takes care of Grace...but I am not so sure they will do it.  We all know the RHS and OHS game will be a smash mouth football game.  The team that capitalizes on the mistakes of the other team will win this one.  I am not going to talk much trash...I got much respect for the Indians.  Our programs mirror each other in a lot of ways.  I look forward to Friday getting here and going up to the reservation to take on the Tribe.

  4. We aren't happy that Grace's runningback was injured.  He is a good kid.  We miss him.  With that said we are happy we beat Grace, and the new transfer helps add another dimension to our offense.  It also adds to the uncertainty of how good we really are.  6 carries= 100+.  Our team is loving it.  It opens everyone up to have a big game.  Boyd's 5-5 record is very deceptive.  They are much better than 5-5, but it is hard to tell just how good they really are.  Only the play-offs will decide that.  I know Oneida is enjoying this week, but next week will be tough no matter who wins this one.  Good luck to all the teams in our district.  We believe our district is very tough.  I know Meigs will give Grace all they want.  That will be a good game too.  It is too bad they play each other the 1st round.  Greenback will roll, Midway and Harriman will both represent.  Both have very good lines.

  5. I thought private schools were only guilty of searching for talent.  :popcorneater:

Squashing this rumor...We have had 3 of his brothers play here at Rockwood.  He should have been here all along.  On top of that we have lost 3 starters to Private schools in the past 3 years  1 has signed to Georgia Tech.   We have lost 2 other starters to moves going out of state. It is about time we got one of our own back.

  6. Rockwood and Grace has had a bitter rivalry at times, but our school has and will continue to pray for the McKamey family.  We will also rejoice in the fact that through Christ, the McKamey's will be reunited with Will.  He was a great athlete, competitor, and did his talk through his actions on the field.  God be with you, comfort you, and give you peace in your time of need.

Romans 8:28  And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

    God Bless!

  7. I think there are some internal issues going on at Oliver Springs, have been told the entire staff may lose their job. This would have been an intriguing matchup to watch.

It definitely sounds pretty embarassing what took place, but I don't think anyone except the people that were there know the full story.  The referees sound like they had a lot to do with what went down.  Coaches could have done something too...It really is a shame that it went down like it did.

  8. About being on radio, the AD said they could broadcast from the visitors sideline...channel 12 - BBB - wanted to broadcast the game live On tv and the AD wanted to charge them to do it...which Gca had the right to do, but c'mon, why charge when everyone in RoCo gives gca's personal reasonable accommodations and hospitality...Gca has a bad reputation not because of players, but because of admin, coaches and parents. Warranted or not that's the perception.

Well said. Once more another example.

  9. I can't stand Grace as much as anyone on this board.  I think all privates should play in their own league, at least when it comes to the playoffs.  If privates play in a public arena,  they should play in 6A.  I love Rockwood but I realize we are heavy underdogs (just like we were last year when GCA scores with 26 ticks left to barely beat us). McKamey will try to score 100 on us if he can as the feeling for us from the GCA side is much the same.  You fake a punt on Greenback up 43 with a minute to go and wonder why no one likes your school. GO TIGERS!!!!!!! #AnybodyButGrace2013

One more example of the lack of class...and I agree McKamey will try and run the score up.   The tigers better get their minds right and take this game personal.  Remember being freshman and sophomores playing a jv game being down 30 to nothing in the 1st quarter.  After they took their friday night starters out and finally let coaches on the field like they said they would from the start,  The rest of the game was 14-14.  44-14 final score.   I am still angry about it the lack of class shown that day.

  10. I've read this whole thread...put it to bed: Kyron & Demarcus the RW xfers - are awesome kids. The largest majority of the RW family still love them and wish them nothing but the best. Quite frankly I don't care if you recruit or even pay for kids...these are all still kids. Kids deserve opportunities adults are supposed to act like adults and live and exemplify a higher standard.

Nice try posing as a Rockwood fan.  You got the picture off our Website two days ago.  I agree that kids are kids and to leave them alone.  There is a reason Grace is the most hated team in East Tennessee.  They have shown no class in the past.  Not the kids, the adults.  Coaches play JV games like they are Friday Nights with Rosters and the whole deal.  Secondly, Grace doesn't allow space for visting Coaches, Film Girls, or the Visiting Broadcasting People.  Third, they have and do recruit kids to their programs.  They have been caught cheating, but only after they won championships. yes, they were stripped of their Basketball championships, meanwhile the teams that they faced were stripped of the opportunity to win the championship.  As a christian and head of my schools FCA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, it is embarassing and a disgrace when a school claims to wear the Christian Banner, but then the actions they portray speak louder.  Why would any athiest want to become Christian when this private school claims something but their actions prove otherwise.  Finally, Private schools should play private schools.  Public should play Public.  Oh Yes and GO TIGERS!!!

  11. Greenback must be the real deal to spank Coalfield the way they did.  Looking forward to seeing how they do against the Indians.  As for O.S.-Coalfield, should be an interesting game.  O.S. may be turning a corner and becoming a contender.  The Jury is still not in on that one though.  Coalfield seemed to have bitten off more than they can chew this season.  I have heard they are banged up pretty bad also.  Two great games this week.   We will see who contends and who pretends.

  12. I actually want OS to make the playoffs so they'll hopefully run into Grace. Grace will let them see what 70 feels like

OS hasn't run the score up on anyone intentially.  Half-time of Oakdale was 60-21.  They scored four times alone on Defense and Special teams.  1st half took 2 hours to play in that game too.  Impossible not to have 80 + points scored.

  13. It's hard to rep the no huddle spread pace in practice that the eagles with throw at you this year. I know nothing about oliver springs but this is the best Oakdale team in many years talent wise and the pace they play at wears teams of similar talent down. Oakdale gets the w here I believe.

Everyone has gone to this spread no huddle offense.

  14. It is a district match up between one of the largest schools in 2a vs the smallest public school in the state. Oakdale is definitely out manned but I've heard they're a little better this year than years past. Don't know much about OS but they lost pretty easily to an injured York team who apparently isn't very good. Would love to see the under dog pull it off.

OS is no longer the biggest 2A School.  They have around 380 students.  A big drop off from wha they used to be.
