  1. Dresden had lots of mistakes last night. Was looking for a cleaner game. They couldn't get their running game going against Crockett Co. Crockett wins 50-20 on scoreboard and Crockett JV scored 2 TD's to McKenzie 0 that did not show on the scoreboard. What's some McKenzie folks thoughts on the scrimmage and the Cavaliers?

  2. Let's get for real...Who has Liberty played? Yes, week 1 was a close game with Henry Co., but Southside, Northside and Chester Co. isn't that brutal of a schedule. YES, they are talented, but not tested at all! Just my opinion :thumb:

    You tell me:

    at Henry Co.

    Haywood

    JCM

    at Fayette Ware

    at Jackson North Side

    Jackson South Side

    at McNairy Central

    Bolivar Central

    at Lexington

    Chester Co.

  3. Covington @ Westview

    Dyersburg @ Haywood

    Obion @ Ripley

    Peabody @ Gibson

Milan @ Crockett ( Game of the Week)

Another regular season is drawing to a end with one big game that everyone wants to see. For those interested the OC @ Ripley game is a Thursday night game. Lets pickem. Westview, D'burg, Ripley, Peabody, and Milan.

    Westview

    Dyersburg

    Obion

    Peabody

    Crockett

  4. If I were to rank these 5 teams based on tonights play, (and we know what rankings do to people on this board)

    My ranking in order -

    1- Huntingdon

    2- McKenzie

    3- Crockett

    4- Bolivar

    5- Lexington

I know everyone didn't show everything, but taking tonights 3 quarters of play from each team, this is my story and I am stickin' to it!

  5. Crockett County

    Boliver

    Lexington

    McKenzie

    I think these are all.

    Bolivar vs. Huntingdon

    Bolivar vs. McKenzie

    Lexington vs. Huntingdon

    Crockett Co. vs. Huntingdon

    McKenzie vs. Lexington

    Lexington vs. Crockett Co.

    McKenzie vs. Crockett Co.

    In that order.....starting at 6:30

  6. QUOTE(N2Choctaws @ Mar 5 2007 - 09:24 PM) 826401339[/snapback]Too bad it's not enough to get Coach McCord coach of the year in District 13AA. Great job by the entire coaching staff and especially McCord.

Because Coach McCord was 8-4 with last years 3 win team. He lost to Crockett, TCA, and Gibson County with that team. Then 4 players that were not on last years 3 win team came on. They are good, but HE didn't turn it around, the transfers did. That's why he is not coach of the year!

  7. im a charger fan and this is what i know for a fact if covington continues to play 10 to 15 yards off the crockett recievers it will be a long night they have to get in there face and allow the defence time to get to the quarterback if they can do that then it will be a game, im not worried about the run defence we play the run good but we can not allow the recievers to run free with that said any team who makes it to the big one i will support because this is all about regeion 7-3a

    Great post! And very honest..

I went 14-2 with my first round picks....Missed White House beating Notre Dame and Haywood beating Sheffield....Not bad for first round.... How did others do that picked?

  9. South Side will be the only winner from Region 6 in the 1st round.

Good call Teddavid...I was bashed earlier this season for talking about how weak Region 6 was...They probably think that I'm still wrong, but the facts are - the only team to win from region 6, won by 7 after giving up 35 points! I stand behind all earlier post of mine, Region 6 is/was weak this year..

  10. haywood's defense only 15 a game in this region. oh yeah, only gave up 13 TOTAL to mighty crockett at their place. lot more than that on d burg AND covington.

I hate to do this on this thread, because the thread is about Jarvis' health. But the topic throughout the thread has somehow changed. With that said, I just want to remind everyone that the field was wet and muddy and there was about a 30 mph wind that night. Haywood's defense is good, but the weather took the speed of Crockett and evened the playing field. And oh by the way, we still WON!

  12. Do you fear a letdown after that huge Covington win? That`s the only way the Cavs will lose this game. I just don`t see that happening. Haywood has some really good athletes who can make some plays and shouldn`t be overlooked, but CC is clearly the better team.

Don't think it is a let down, just wonder how long the starters play. Win or lose, CC is #1 seed. Do you risk postseason run in a close 4th quarter game just to go undefeated? That is what a lot of CC fans fear. If you play for the undefeated season in a tight game and lose a star, you get criticized. If you rest the starters and end up 9-1, you get criticized. I know the CC staff will make the right decision and care less who criticizes.

By the way VG, you threatened to close this thread down... and since, this thread has gone to "pot". Did you notice that?

  13. I think most people in this region are just tired of hearing how weak we are compared to the region 7-3A teams. Its ironic that cavcav notes the state runner up team but declines to note that the same team got beat by McNairy Central in week four that year.

So McNairy should have been state champs?

And the Steelers had to win 4 in a row last year to even get in the playoffs, then won the Super Bowl...How many teams beat them last year? Not a good point.

This is my absolute last post on this thread. I said that earlier, but must reply one more time. Any one of the 3 teams in Region 7 that are NOT going to be in the playoffs would have loved to have been in Region 6(with at least 2 of the 3 playoff bound)....And bringing up that FW beat Haywood, so did Dyer Co., but they had to play the whole region and did not qualify for the state playoffs...Ya'll have fun! :P

  14. I don't think the starters just sit the whole game. PA preaches that you do not take a day off, nor a week off. The team practices, prepares for, and plays Manassas just like they do Milan. So for him to let the starters sit, would be a huge surprise. I do expect him to get a lead and run the ball/clock to get the game over with.

Crockett78 - you are big on the defense of CC this year. They have been great. Did you happen to notice that we went to a 4-4 alignment on defense against Covington instead of the traditional CC 5-3? Shut down the Covington running game too!

  15.

Actually FW did beat Haywood 18-16 earlier this season. Haywood appears to be the team that's going to wind up as the #4 seed going to the playoffs in your region.

I will say that there are three teams in Region 7 that are better than Region 6's #2 seed in Lexington (or should I say eventual #2 seed).

FW would not be a #4 seed in Region 7. Because they wouldn't have a week off to play Mcnairy and Chester Co. in region play. The 3 teams in Region 7 that will not make the playoffs have a combined 14-14 record. Worst Record is 4-5, which is Dyer Co. Haywood won the right games, late in the season, when their starting QB returned from injury. I still say it is a fact that if any team in Region 6 had to play the schedule of Region 7 (not a one game wonder), Southside would be the only playoff team and they would be battling for the Region title.

The highlighted statement you made proves my first point! This region is weak! When this regions #2 would be, at best, the #4 seed in Region 7, it is a weak region for 3A.

Again this is an opinion and I know it is not a popular one with Region 6 supporters. So I will leave this thread alone and let them think it is a strong region.
