When i graduated i had heard that this would be Alsups last year due to JD (his son) graduating. I thought there may be some truth to that when they brought in Wells from Smyrna and my logic was that Wells would take over, i mean why would he leave Smyrna to go to Blackman?
Our linebackers are the strongest part of our defense, not to mention with Kenny and Greg being Seniors to provide that leadership that the Blaze will need. Kenny will be fresh and get stronger as the game goes on due to him missing alot of time this year. The best way to stop the Wing T is to keep them on the sideline, and with Blackman a run it up the gut, 4 yards in a cloud of dust offense, look for WC defense to wear down as the game goes on. With Mimms running all over the field and Merideth/Miles pounding the ball and running over people will be to much for WC to handle.

Trust me Freud wouldnt give TnVols23 the time of day cause nothing is wrong with him. He is a tru fan. Plus Freud focused on Dreams and early childhood during his career. His psycoanalytic (i really stink at spelling) theory was composed pretty much on dream interpretation alone.

Man i cant disagree any more. I love going to a Vols game and hearing the band strike up Rocky Top. The part after everyone sings and the drums hit, it gives me goosebumps everytime. I think if you have been to a Vols game then you would know the greatness of it.
TnVols23 love the quote, that Georgia, Florida, and Alabama so far this year. Another meeting with Auburn will be in the near future and i think we will be able to get them. Dont count on Ainge throwing 5 more picks. BTW does anyone else think that Schaffer (sp?) will transfer to another school after this year?

Believe me, with the last two years of supporting Blackman i have learned that no game is a gimmie. I just dont know much about WC except they cant throw.
The winner plays Cookeville? Man i remember 2 years ago Blackman went up to Cookeville in the 2nd round of the playoffs. It was raining cats and dogs out there. Blackman was down by 7 with fourth and goal in the 4th Quarter. Prince dropped back (even though Justin Amburgey should have been playing but for some reason in practice that week Ed Mays found the need to hit our starting qb and mess up his shoulder

We ended up winning in OT and i remember running on the field and i literally sank into the field due to saturation. Good times.Now Tennessee is getting ran all over. I think this is going to be an interesting game. Bad spot on that call.

Whew, jet leg has gotten its mingly fingers around my neck. I have been in Arizona dealing with family business but it feels good to finally be back and be on coacht. Didnt get to see last nights game but if we put up 49 points, then i have no complaints. I agree that this IS a playoff game. The blaze are trying to get back to the playoffs after a one year absence. I think that the backfield of Blackman will be to much for WC to handle. When Blackman wins (

Well i still say that the program is the best football movie. i dont think it was too Hollywood at all. What about the part with the two linebackers who would spit in each others mouth to get fired up, (i know that many people will not see any point in that and consider it gross, and well im with ya to an extinct). But what i liked most about the program is that is showed the darker side of college football. I mean the one linebacker couldnt even read so all he was relying on was getting to the NFL, the he breaks his leg and his NFL dreams go down the drain. it also had some of the best on the field shooting i think there has ever been.

Haha, funny thing to talk about 8-tracks. My mom kept almost all of her old ones and we have an 8-track player in the attic. It still works, to. I discovered alot of my favorite bands thanks to listening to those old things. Just off the the top of my head i know she has Skynard, Kiss, Queen, Leif Garret, David Cassidy just to name a few.

Umm, is Lavergne even consider a school anymore? LOL what makes this even more sweet is that no one from Lavergne is on here. Funny thing, my Junior year when we played at Lavergne in Basketball our whole student section brought cans of Lysol to the game and we all walked in and sprayed down the bleachers before we sat down. just a little story i wanted to tell but i had to relate it to the the contex of my reply.

yeah college is getting harder for me to. I had a rough draft over my essay in political science class, my process analysis essay in English was due, i had a test in my Adv. Alg and Trig class today as well as a test in Psychology class today over the hippocampus, thalmus, cerebellum, the rods and cones in the eyes, auditory canals and neurotransmitters. Thank goodness today is over.

You know now that you reminded me of that play..... . You may be right about that. Man, I hated your QB!!! I get my football yrs mixed up sometimes b/c I am thinking of the graduation yrs and not season yrs. However, I do know that yall beat us two in a row when Coach Moose was still the head coach there. The last yr that my son played it WAS at Lebanon and that was 99. We went to the semi's that year losing to state champs Sevier County, and yall almost took it from us that game but the final was 7-3.. the year before was when we won the state in 98 and it was at Floyd. ( no contest in that one....

I know that the soccer team has one of the best goalies in the county in Erin. The last i read she had i think 6 shutouts. I think they play siegel next Wed, but dont take that to the bank.

oakland i could have told you most of those coaches were going to quit before they announced it. The class of 2004 was the best athletically/academically that blackman had. Look at all the sports and in most cases the people you have associated blackman with for the past 4 years are gone. anyways alot of the coaches had told their players that last year would be their last.

I think with this being such a big game and storied Rivalry, i truly feel if Oakland can hold their own for the first quarter then Riverdale will get angry and Oakland will stay calm and execute their game plan. I think Riverdale's heads are getting a little big and if they cant put this game away early against a team that they should dominate, then their might be a few arguments and yelling in the locker room, huddle, and sideline.

Hmm, i cant believe i havnt seen this thread b4. Anyways, Blackman has had a good run at the sports side of things every since they oppened. Im just going off the top of my head so i might not be 100% right

We have 1 regular season district championship, 1 region title and 1 district title
Volleyball
Back to back state runner up (that stinks every time i say that) plus the Gatorade Player of the year with Lindsey Sisco
Soccer
Girls won 3 season championships in a row, i believe the guys won 1
Softball
I believe the gals won a regular season title
Wrestling
Kenny was 2nd in the state
Football
five playoff games the first 2 years (Riverdale didnt do that)
Tennis
We have had quite a few players to win individual championships, and LK Caffey went to the state tournament.
So with blackman being relatively new, i think we have held it down.

Riverdale is the best academic school in Rutherford County. That is the most important thing, but being the best at all the sports isnt bad either. thumb

ok lets look at things realistically. In Murfreesboro alone there are 4 school (OHS, Siegel, BHS, and RHS. Now granted Siegel is in its 2nd year and Blackman is going into its 5th, so with all these school in the boro area alone, i guess everyone just so happens to live in Riverdale's zone? there is no way you can tell me that all the good ball players in the county are zoned for Riverdale. And they never have an off/ rebuilding year, unlike lets say Oakland and Blackman. Now logically explain how that happens, because unless i am missing something i dont see how that is possible. SECOND, if you can say that Rankin did not try to get Rico to come back to RHS illegally then you need to open your eyes. Like i said when all of that went down look who was in charge of the schools, there was no way you would have been able to prove it. Look on these boards ppl and you will read stories about Riverdale recruiting. I am not bitter, i have been at games when the Blaze have handed it to Riverdale in other sports and i am proud with that. Even though Blackman has had 2 rebuilding years in football doesnt take away from the accomplishments we have had in other sports. I am not complaining, i am grown up, and i have the right to say whatever i wish. Im pretty sure im not the only person who has these same thoughts.
