  1. big o , you are right about the Dyersburg-obion central battles. they sure used to really have some barn burners. my favorite one was during the 1991 season at Dyersburg when denver whitby was a SR. Billy Mac Jones had a career high 36points and 23 rebounds against the rebels even after fouling out with 4 minutes left in the 4th. the trojans lost 72-73 on a last second buzzer beater by denver whitby. Dyersburg however thought they could avenge the loss at the pit later that season but the good ol homecooking was too tough to tame with the trojans suffering a 104- 76 loss in a very heated battle.

  2. from dyer county its defitnitly brian fisk. fisk is currently at lipscomb university and posted 20 pts 2 reb 2 asst 2 steals with 8-10 shooting from the field to lead lipscomb against nebraska in their last game. brian is just a freshman and has had some remarkable games so far but then again has had a few down games. playing very well so far.,

  3. you mean to tell me that someone outside of giles co thinks they are over rated....

jmsballa im not sure you realize the talent yet, you really have to consider the quality of teams that northside plays... they have a very tough schedule and these boys are only juniors. while i still feel that tyler smith of giles co is the best junior in the state, the delks are defitnitly right behind tyler. 15 years of me watching high school basketball cant possibly be that wrong, during those 15 yrs i also had the great opportunity to see their uncle tony delk perform numerous times. i strongly feel that the twins will perform better at the college level than they do now...

  4. ifiruledtheworld, u aint too bad on the rankings. i dont care what everyone else says you do a good job of the west tn rankings. i still beleive halls will jump all the way on your list to # 1 before its over with....

in response to lake co's 24 point performance as u stated earlier it was just plain ugly no matter how good dyer co's defense is... looks like dyer county has been making a lot teams look ugly and have those bad hair days here lately

  5. haha i think thats it... he was responding to my thread on dyersburg fans not being on here.

heres a point to ponder on the game, dyer county has lost only 1 game at the new teepee and that was to ripley last season. the choctaws have now won 37 of their last 38 home games....... including a blowout of dyersburg last season

  6. the choctaws really seem to be on a mission to prove they can play with anyone, especially since alot of folks had wrote them off after the departure of fisk, crittendon, byrd, and benjamin. butch hopkins(coach)really desreves alot of credit for this one...

  7. i take dyer county by 5-10, the trojans have yet to see a team with this calber defense. it will be too much for dyersburg to handle. i do think dyersburg will break the choctaws streak of 5 consecutive games of holding opponents to below 40 points. heres my prediction

    dyer county-49, dyersburg-41

  8. choctaws are now 6-0 with a 51-39 win over the ripley tigers. antonio mitchell had an excellent game with 25 points. choctaws have held every team but greenfield to less than 40 points. as i stated earlier, offense bring the fans, defense wins championships.

  9. id say you are right, it should be a good game. just hope we come out on top..tough week for the choctaws with dyersburg coming in friday nite also. ripley is the team that beat dyer co at dyer co during senior nite last year which ended a 33 game home win streak. ripley can run with anyone almost but dyer co can defend anyone for that matter and at least slow the tempo of the game down and stay in the game.

  10. any predictions on this game tonite?/ havent seen ripley this year yet but sources say there are extremely tough. should be an intersting match up with ripleys runnin offense and dyer county's incredible defense which is allowing only 34 points per game... ive always said defense wins games and championships while offense packs the house, guess we'll see tonite......

  11. dyer county improved their record to 5-0 with a win over crockett co tonite by a score of 66-33. the defense had another very strong showing as the only team to score more than 40 points on the choctaws has been greenfield with a 44 point outing. the avg points allowed is 34 per game
