  1. "If a player is pitching in a game that is tied at the end of regulation play, he may finish such tie game regardless of the number of innings, provided he did not pitch the previous day or the first game of a doulbe-header on the same day."

    All his innings are legal.

I knew they were legal, but thought it odd the way the TSSAA can limit the number of innings one way and then can let a pitcher throw unlimited innings another.

  2. Aaron is a big strong kid and 127 would have him below 12 per inning. That is way below the average for a high school pitcher. Now add his warm up pitches each inning and before the game and the total goes 200+

Another poster reminded me of the TSSAA rule that a high school pitcher can't throw 10 innings on consecutive days, but 11 is fine in one game.

  3. and a signee of the University of Tennessee threw a complete game (11 innings) yesterday in a 1-0 win over Gibbs HS. Aaron had 20 K's in the game while throwing a 1 hitter. Aaron also scored the winning run for Loudon.

All this sounds like great news, but at what cost? 11 innings = how many game pitches + warm up pitches? Sadly some coaches just never get it.

  4. Just a thought, but isn't Diane Psihogios the "Principal" at Powell??? Isn't Kim Kallenberg the "Assistant Principal" at Powell??? Where were they when Danny was last a head coach???

If Danny wants the job, I hope he gets it.

  5. I don't have time to add these players to the list right now (wife just called :) ), but I did want to get them announced: B)

David Delugach, a 5'9"/187lb LHP at Memphis University School signed with Christian Brothers University. Also, Mason Mosby, a 5'11"/221lb SS/3B/1B committed to Rhodes College to play both football and baseball.

These 3 seniors fom USJ have verbally comitted

  6. Some revised 3-AAA tournament times...

District Tournament Games at Powell High School

Campbell Co v. Powell - Thur., May 5th at 5:00

Oak Ridge v. Karns - Thur., May 5th at 7:30

    Halls v. Campbell Co/Powell winner - Fri., May 6th at 5:00 (Revised)

Central v. Clinton - Fri., May 6th at 7:30 (Revised)

  7. WHO HAS HALLS PLAYED? THEIR OWN DISTRICT IS VERY WEAK. OTHER THAN HALLS, NO ONE IN THEIR DISTRICT HAS A WINNING RECORD. YORK INSTUTUTE, COOKEVILLE, MARYVILLE,LENIOR CITY, NONE OF THESE SCHOOLS HAS A WINNING RECORD. I KNOW THEY HAVE PLAYED A FEW GOOD TEAMS, BUT, COLLIERVILLE BEAT THEM AND FARRAGUT WOULD HAVE BEAT THEM IF IT HAD NOT RAINED. THEIR LACK OF A TOUGH SCHEDULE ISN'T GOING TO HELP THEM GET TO THE STATE. I COULD BE VERY WRONG, BUT, IT'S JUST A THOUGHT.

You are in for a big suprise if you doubt what Knoxville Halls can do on the baseball field. Karns is 14-10-1 in District 3AAA and Central, Oak Ridge and Karns can play with anyone on any given day.

  8. I played grant escue and he is a very good player and congratulations to him for Stanford...they recruited a very good player

Grant Escue was a member of the East Tennessee Stars summer team that won many games. A number of those players now are on the Knoxville Halls high school team.

  9. Start time is 6:00 at the Ballpark at Farragut!

We'll save you a seat, Bizzazz!  I'm guessing Hiwassee Vol and Soup Kitchen will even make appearances for this one!

I told AdDad25 last week that I had to work Wednesday night, so sadly I will be a no show. Have fun, I'll miss being there. :D

  10. coachfro,

Halls wins in 5 innings today as Daniel Larson throws a one hitter. Final score 10-0

I'm not sure of the number of K's, but Daniel had a good number. It was my first time seeing him pitch this year and he has improved greatly over last season. I talked with one scout and also saw Coach Simcox. I assume Coach Simcox was there to see Jeffery Lockwood.

  11. What did he look like?

    Grad,

The Box Score listed O'Dell, Ewton (4) and Dobbs for SoddyDaisy.

    Halls 003 600 X - 9 10 3

    The first game listed:

    Halls 101 000 0 - 2 4 2

    Oolte 000 000 1 - 1 4 3

Good Luck to all the rest of the way.
