i have been told by daryl l. from south eastern aau that roane state will still be the location and that the tournament date wouldn't change from the original date. an attempt was made to change the date with roane state, but they couldn't due to prior agreements with another organization. sorry, silverbullet. you must be from future champions? were you the gentleman that was at our meeting at seymour? i believe that the changes that were discussed at that meeting will take place next year. these changes could have been made this year if the discussion about the change had of been during our summer meeting. at this point, the change would hurt the hosting organization, as far as funds, too badly. i am all for other organizations participating in the aau state tournament, but i feel strongly about there being a pre-qualification of a wrestler having to compete in at least one aau tournament prior to the state tournament. i'm sure many do not agree with this, but, as a coach myself, i have to look out for my wrestlers.

the state aau tournament will be held at Roane State Community College, march 15-16 2003. any aau card holder is welcome to sign-up for this tournament. also, for you usa wrestlers, you can purchase an aau card at the tournament site to be able to wrestle. last year we had over 600 wrestlers and are planning for more this year. hope to see you there.

saw a pretty good freshman team from kingston play against some jv teams this year. i believe the only lost one game to anderson co.. did see that game in person. kingston dominated the game but shot themselves in the foot on several occassions to lose the game 22-18. from what i have seen from this group, they are pretty special, with talent on both sides of the ball. the only obstacle they will have will be playing as a team, not playing as individuals. other than that, kingston looks pretty good for the next 3 years, at least. anyone else seen them play?

it is my understanding that the front headlock has been ruled illegal. is it the front headlock or is it the "gator roll" from the front headlock? need some claification on this. tried to go to the nfhs site to find out, but it takes forever for the publication to download.

i quess you guys forgot that we wrestle in the knoxville area also. we have a few guys that have competed at state and are returning this year! like ely from gibbs at 125, floyd from south doyle, driggers from kingston, etc. don't sell the knoxville kid's short. there are other wrestling teams north of cleveland! the programs aren't in the same league as bradley central, YET, but are quickly moving in that direction. the kid's from knoxville area WILL make some noise this year.

can anyone tell me why more of the dII schools in the state do not offer wrestling? i understand the title 9 thing, but it kind of suprises me that ttu or mtsu doesn't have a wrestling team. any other thoughts on the reasons?
