Late 90s lost in 1A Clinic Bowl to Trousdale Co.

Yet CA has the only male state title of any Clarksville school (basketball) and only state finals appearance (football).

Google is your friend...

Region 6 lost a team as Clarksville Academy appealed and was moved to DII yesterday.

Stewart is several steps down from Givens. UC picks a score next week. Somewhat surprised that NCS only managed 33 yds, I figured UC would dominate but not to THAT level. Congrats

Excuse me...we LET you back in the game. Recruited/gained two new players....lol. NCS being Private or "semi" private....yes... so the private/public debate goes on and yes...we also have gotten better. It doesn;t matter to us. You have to stop us...NO ONE Has. We were scoring 2 TD's to your 1.
Lot of irony coming from a school with open zoning...not complaining or saying its wrong one way or the other but it is funny to read.

Westmoreland will be the team to beat MOST years in that group, no doubt about it.

I don't think the problem with privates is so much "recruiting". Its the fact that there kids can come from anywhere and there are no zones. But I agree that the public open enrollment is much more of a problem. A small tuition and willingness of parents and kids to get to school are the only roadblocks. Lots of school systems in west Tennessee are still under federal injunctions that require kids to go to certain schools. That is exactly why Jackson public school football is very subpar and the privates are pretty good. Gibson county has special school districts in all cities. And when the white flight hit Humboldt hard they got the feds involved and sued. Now the school zones are strictly enforced. If Milan Humboldt Medina and Trenton wanted to have open zones and all the athletes chose to go to one school that school would be an absolute juggernaut. But anyway that's just my opinion. And before the Blount County goons reply let me say this...You guys don't cheat because there are no TSSAA rules against open enrollment so therefore getting players outside of your school district is perfectly legal. However I think everyone would just like to once hear one of you say it definitely helps. Not to take away from the hard work your players put in or the great coaching you have but any coach will tell you great players make great coaches.

1A in East TN is so bad this year, bunch of teams in the west side of the braket that could have won the east this year.

There are a good amount of candidates for this job. I do believe moving back to 3A was kind of a down point for certain candidates. Alexander would be a quality hire, but he is always applying for other jobs and I don't think he would be a long-term fit. 2 other names that I'd keep an eye on are the OC at CPA, I think his name is Haywood....and BGA assistant David Peden.
I can not confirm or deny who is doing the hiring, but from sources RP and a couple of board members are in charge of search.
Haywood would end up being a monster home run, anyone would be lucky to have him as HC.

Sounds like an odd situation...

I remember being down there several years ago and thinking it was a nice facility. Stadium looked like it was in the inner city not in a rural county.
-
Man Cheatham has a tough sale on their hands, awful administration at the county level & shockingly poor facilities when I came by this year.
-
Haven't had the talent or the leadership come through that we had 10 years ago either...
-
Lol may want to pump the brakes a bit there with the criticism of Coach Williams. State champion as an assistant coach , multiple district titles, state Quarterfinal, Semifinal & a State Championship appearance....
You could do a heck of a lot worse

RBS, anyone who saw them play in years prior to his arrival would agree, amazing job. Not to mention the current starting FR QB at Macon Co grew up at RBS and moved for HS. Kid is very good and would have made RBS that much better.

McEwen should win but PC will.

Nevermind its not worth the time...

Lol, put it this way CA up 43-0 HC fumbled inside 15 with 30 secs left CA hands it straight up middle goes to half. If they wanted to run up the score that was the time.
-
Does it really matter either way...of course not, just people wanting to stir the pot.
-
But from what I heard today everyone is fine and ready to go for next week.

They have 23 kids dressed out, certain positions their aren't anyone but "starters".

Disagree that it's a horrible place to teach, there's an emphasis on student success in the classroom and that shows as its one of the better performing districts in the state especially given the areas demographics. As far as athletics goes though you have a point. The support for middle school and developmental programs by the district is non-exsistent.
