1. QUOTE(hackashaq @ Feb 3 2007 - 10:59 PM) 826357585[/snapback]

eloquent pontification - smooth and gracious - thanks for your adulation but I don't need it. huge axe to grind - duh!! are you sherlock holmes or 007 ! - you are brilliant, let me guess, drivers ed major? like i said it has to do with young people getting ripped. think about this - why do you think i selected the name hackashaq??? also in your brilliant review of my remarks - WHO said it wasn't earned??? Wasn't me. Have you tried this method and it didn't work??? believe me, Bolivar/Liberty have earned it, Sammy Fisher and his '70s Lexington teams earned it , and Lexington will earn it again in the future when the right system is in place.

You say you know the "lonely feeling" , comparing yourself to Gardner's situation, DO YOU?? gag, forgive me, i don't mean "to pile on" here, but if that is so - could it be that you have that "enormous lack of character" you so "eloquently pontificated" about? Do you know the lonely feeling some good solid young people might feel when their spirit has been broken by one that is hiding behind the name coach and is allowed to rule with an iron fist??? You say "Coach" Gardner and "VERY good basketball coach" all in the same breath and with great respect, go ahead defend him, you sound like an expert to me - i'll check back with you next week....... at that point "you will have earned" that "lonely feeling".

The Eloquent Pontificator , Axe Grinder, or hackashaq - take your pick beave

Thank you for once agian proving my point........

I would venture to say that you are trying to live through your child, or were not good enough to play. Either way, I hope you never make a choice, or life deals you something you cannot handle, and people treat you the way you choose to handle this situation.

In the above post, I never defended, and I cannot, and will not, defend the actions that are being reported. But for you to contend that Coach Gardner is such and awful coach is ignorant. I chalk it up to ignorance, not a mean-spirited ignorance, but lack of knowledge about the game and what goes on in practice and in and out of the school setting. I do this because of your statements about Bomar. If you only knew half of what he has personally done for him, you might think a little differently, but I doubt you would.

Go ahead and rip me if you wish, I will bow out.

  2. This "respect" you so eloquently pontificate about is earned not given. After reading post after post of spewed negativity towards the coach, I have come to the conclusion you have a HUGE axe to grind with Coach Gardner; and his reported/alleged indiscretion has given you the podium to voice your displeasure.

I think it shows an enourmous lack of character to kick a man while he is down. I hope, if you ever find yourself in a tough situation, that people will not pile on you. It is a lonely feeling, I know.

I don't know what happened, but what I do know is that Coach Gardner is a VERY good basketball coach. Ask anyone else in the profession and they will tell you so.

  3. Just ask the players if they fill prepared for games, are having fun this season, or even want to be there- if they are honest, they will all answer no.

And just what do they fill, the Gatorade jugs?

This is one of the reasons I stopped reading these boards. All you so-called fans and armchair quarterbacks kill me.

JCS has graduated a ton of talent the last two years. DCA was a great game with an stud at tailback, and Southside was just a better team. If you could not see that, you don't know football. Assistant coaches are promoted for a reason, they EARN it. Did you ever bother to ask who was responsible for that JCS defense the last few seasons?

The only way to have "fun" is to win. High School athletics ceases to be "fun" when people lose thier jobs over the outcome of those contests. If you don't want to work, quit. If you want to have "fun", go to the circus.

  4. But officiating in West Tennessee is not going to get better so we had better just stink it up and get used to it.l

You guys need to talk to others around the state. They seem to think that our officials are pretty good compared to the ones they have.

  5. The way the brackets were drawn, the best teams are in the finals. The only semi-upset was Forrest over Red Boiling Springs, and Forrest did what it took to win down the stretch.

Jackson County IS the best A team there. Forrest will have to pull off a miracle to win.

We have an All-West Tennessee AA final.

Shelbyville and Wilson Central are the best two AAA teams there.

All you have to do is look at the scores. They are low scoring and close. The officials are doing a good job of NOT becoming a part of the game.

Madison had a chance to win, they just were unable to convert. Not bad for a third year school that is loaded with Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors. They will get their chance next season.

  6. I would like to congratulate Union City on a big win on the road at Middleton. Most of all, congratulations to the Humboldt Viknings for beating MC. What I do not understand is.... How can UC get in what is perceieved as "the easier bracket," and Humboldt (who has beaten UC three times already and most notably in the Region Championship) get in the bracket with the top two teams in the state (Cosby and Grace Baptist)? TSSAA ought to do away with the blind draw and rank the teams in some type of system, making the top ranked team play the lowest of the eight ranked teams and so. UC may make it to the championship, and Humboldt may not, but I will go ahead and guarantee a Humboldt win if they both make it to the championship. Go Vikings.

    FYI..

I do not believe it is a blind draw. The bracket is set well before the district and regional tournaments begin. It is all a matter of whether you win or lose your region game.

  7. You got to be retared to put something like that unless you mean ladys basketball. In a scrimge early in the year both lake county and union city beat dyersburg. Lake County beat Dyersburg at dyersburg with out their football players (2 witch start (springer and coplin) and a very important bench player in sep) by 20 points. I think that dyersburg would be happy to finish 4th in district 14a and Crockett would be happy finishin 5th or 6th. I dont wanna hear that from the weakest AA district in the state. Dyer Co. Obion. Gibson and Milian are horrible and Martin stinks too. I've seen all these teams play ex milian but to be last in this dictrict you have to be the absolute pits. Thanks for the setup so that i could shoot this crap down.

    Wow :thumb:

  8. The winner of the Lake County/Greenfield game will go to state. The loser will more then likely have to play Madison Academic Magnet in Jackson and I'm not so sure that either Lake County or Greenfield will be able to pull that one off. Congrats to both teams on the huge wins and good luck the rest of the way.

The Middleton/Madison game Monday is HUGE. The winner will be in the state tournament.

Don't be surprised if the loser has to travel to Middleton. They are one of the most athletic teams I have seen this year, and Coach Berkley does a good job of putting them in a position to win.

Madison is well coached as well, and they have three pretty good guards. They also have a presence in the middle. If they shoot the ball well, you could be right. <_<

  9. Can you say "Deja Vu All Over Again"? Who besides me was in that rowdy South Fulton gym in 1996 when the Lady Falcons upset the top-ranked, 31-0 Lady Bulldogs, also in the regional semifinals? Granted, that was a better Gleason team and a better LC team that night...but that doesn't diminish the significance of this win.

Someone told me last week that Lake County's girls might have just as good a chance of going to the 'Boro as the boys, if not better. I don't know what the teams in Region 8A have, but the Lady Falcons have probably as much athleticism as anyone.

Quick history lesson, for those that haven't followed LC recently: The last regional title for the Lady Falcons came in 1994 when LaSheka Bolden hit a buzzer-beating 5-foot jumper to beat (you guessed it) Gleason at (you guessed it again) Trenton. The end result -- a state tournament Final Four appearance before falling to eventual champ Oneida. Since then, LC has played in the regional title game twice, falling to Bradford both times.

Greenfield is no slouch, but they are no Gleason, either. I like Lake County's chances.

    I was.

    I'm still in shock...................

  10. In spite of the fact, that beave has called people on this forum: ignorant, uneducated, and an idiot.

You are the only person I called those names, and for that, I do apologize. I doubt I would have done that in your face, so why do it while sitting behind the keyboard.

I believe TheWarden banged the nail home.

    Got a diaper to change...............
