I will respond to this, since I am Ashley's mom.

She did not receive a personal invitation to play for the Express. Not sure where you get your information, but maybe you need to check it out first before you post.

Yes the invite was there for your daughter to come out for Nautilus Express. The coach call and email the coach from Vol and no return call or email. He also sent word through the girls that palyed on the team the year before. One of the girls text her and her reponse was "the coach is to mean". The funny thing is I do not think that your daughter and him have ever met so how could she know if he was mean or not. Maybe

Coach Myers never said a word to her or us and besides that is not a personal invite. Also the girls talking to her during a game is not a personal invite. Our phone number is in the phone book. A personal invite is receiving a call from the coach. We did not receive a phone call. I do not understand why you feel the need to post about our family when you do not know us at all. You want to know about Ashley and what she said or did not say, please feel free to give us a call, 357-3917 because I will not be on this site anymore, it is nothing but people talking about things they know nothing about.

I hope you have a great day.

  3. As a parent of one of the girls you have listed, I really don't think this is your job to tell these girls what they need to work on. THAT IS COACH MYERS JOB. Why do you want to cause problems within our team? It seems to me the girls get along great and HOPEFULLY they do not read coacht. My advice to you is work at home with your own child to improve her skills and we will work with our girls at home on their skills that THAT COACH MYERS has told them to work on.

  4. Well here we go, I guess? Coach Meyers has had a chance to be with his new team of LADY VOLUNTEERS. What does he think after leaveing Va.? Does he have them ready to play on Friday night? Offense (check), Defense (check), starters (????). My pick:

1: McFarland (point-guard)- Moves the ball quickly, not selfish, and has varsity level experience. from what i hear.

2: Porter (shooting-guard)- Very fast, can shoot the long ball, against a zone defense, and has varsity level exp.

3: Price (guard)- Handles pressure good, can shoot the long ball as well, could have a great game, it's all up to her.

4: Lindholm (guard)-Quick and never say die attitude. Good learner and makes things happen. Watch the turnovers.

5: Walker (Center) I think that's her last name. Clean up the boards! You will know when it's your time to shoot.

Try running there legs off with the fast -break in the open court. If you have to run off screens to breakdown the middle and get inside of the paint for a quick jumpshot, because of the zone defense ( You probably will see first before they man up), set your pix hard and let them know that you are here to play. KEEP THE BALL MOVING,YOUR GUARNTEED A EASY BASKET!!!

Switch it up when they do start to play man-2-man and start feeding it inside:

1: Huddle (point-guard)- Great passer, breaksdown 1-on-1 defense, and can get it inside. Work on that defense.

2: Porter/alternate Anderson (Shooting guard)-When you need a 3 to bring you back or keep you futher ahead. watch your passes.

3: Odell/alternate Adkins( Forward) Both physically strong and can be of force on the offensive/defensive boards.

4: Walker (Small Forward) Post up underneath and let them feed you(your turn to shoot). Clean up the boards strong

5: Gilliam (Power Forward) Great player, good moves to the basket, will bring her "A" game for this season.

Try going with the height advantage, see if it plays to your favor. First look off each pass is to the inside player posted on the blocks.

Who ever starts, it's not when you play. It's what you contribute when you do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOOD LUCK AND GO LADY FALCONS!!!

  5. geno74,

I'm sorry if I took it the wrong way. Just alot of people have been saying stuff about his age. I care a great deal about your youngest son. He is top notch. I don't know your oldest one that well. Good luck to both of your sons in college and to you and your wife.

    GO FALCONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. like i have said before im chuckys dad.listen to your post, gee how old is chucky?theres no other way to take your post other than very negative toward chucky.why do you need to know how old chucky is?anyone who post something negative about a kid or a team is the lowest .i miss the old days when you could give a man an attitude adjustment, lord knows there is alot of mean people who does not care what they say even if it hurts a kid.for all you people who downs any kid on this computer, what comes around goes around.after these kids go to college we support every kid in northeast,we are fans of vince redd at virg, whitten at dallas, seal at lmu, nuchols at etsu, sensabaugh at etsu and we will be fans of chambers ,odom, harrison, bailey, porter, buchanan, minnick and the rest that play college ball, why cant fans be for all kids to further their careers.

  7. gen074,

Why does it matter? Why do you care? Do you know the TSSAA rules about the age requirement? It was not Chucky's option to be held back. I know there is several players the same age playing. As long as it is legal WHY DO YOU CARE?

I sit and wonder why you would post something like this and there is only one reason to down Chucky. WHY? Chucky and your son played AABC baseball together and it really makes me very angry that you Gene Ofiero who had two son's who played at Volunteer that we stood behind and supported through out their High School years would post like that in the only way i see it,negative.we back all players in northeast,it would be nice to see just positive post on this sight.if you dont understand how to write positive post, read some of stokelys post and you will learn.

  8. i agree about jay,he has been just fine and were glad to have him at vol,he has stayed all night with us and was a real gentleman.he is a falcon now so you better lay off of him.i agree with meodan about the wing t it might be a good off but we still are just scoring 14 a game.i just hate to see a team live or die by one off,i like west coast and hurry up off threw in the mix.i felt for the punter the coaches threw to the dogs, the boy had not even punted in a scrimmage much less the biggest game of the year and it showed,he can kick but thats asking way to much.during warmups chuck was holding extra points and jarvis kicked his right hand so hard he was shaking his hand.big chance to take and on extra point what would be better than a free shot on the qb while hes holding the snap.i seen alot of cheap shots and late hits that should have been called, bad job by the refs,i know their going to miss calls but cheap shots and late hits are a different story, kids can get hurt.i think cherokee beat us by them playing their best game and vol playing their worst, thats players and coaches.i think our def got tired, little bit of rest in the first half goes a long way in the second half.coaches dont get upset by our fans chatting on here,we just love football and when vol loses some of us get tore up and go home and scream at our wives, beat the dog. :lol:just kidding. were behind the coaches and team 110%just look at the crowd we had.we have a better team than the chiefs and i know were still going to make the playoffs.rem last year north killed us and we won 5 in a row.seniors this is your last year make the most of it ,we need more leaders.please no more delays,it even tore up my 9 yr old girl, she was screaming at chuck to run aplay, she even rode him saturday by saying you should have called your own play chuck your the qb,chuck just shook his head and i couldnt help but laugh.lets see you all take one game at a time.good luck fri.

  9. This is Chucky's mom. I justed wanted to thank everyone for their support of my son. I would also like to clear up a misunderstanding concerning where my son will be attending school next year. It will be Volunteer High School. The misunderstaning has occured because he has a first cousin that will be attending DB this fall. Again we thank you for you support. GO FALCONS!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  10. I would like to say I'm sorry if I offended anyone with my comments. I do not know if you have any children, but when you see someone writing comments about your child being able to be found anywhere when he has had a good year it bothers you. I just wonder how many sophmores in the state of TN are leading their conference in scoring. this isnt about mvp award,i really dont know who deserves it.i just really believe it was an unfair comment.

  11. I want to wish the Falcons luck for tomorrow night. Please put Wednesday's game behind you and learn from it. You are a great team. Good luck tomorrow. I also want to say that Chucky cannot be the player he is without his teammates, that is what basketball is about "TEAM". GO FALCONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. What upset me were the comments that you could find a Chucky anywhere, that is degrading Chucky. Next about the racial remark, white guy, is something I've been trying to teach Chucky that he has a good as a chance to play college ball has anyone, but it is real hard when comments like that are made. Like Chucky said, he would much rather be on a winning team playing for district championship than being MVP. I don't think the Falcons are playing like they are capable of playing and Elizabethton is playing awesome.

  13. chuck played aau with redd and brown and he said those guys are good guys.cyclones could have beat anyone last night, great game. you need to realize all year i cheered for whitten, went to cheer on local boys lawson and nuchols at etsu and will cheer for redd at va and brown at etsu.i back all players from local schools who go to college.maybe etown could back athletes all over northeast not just in etown.there is life after high school sports which is why alot of athletes play sports ,for a great college education.i bet kings coach wouldnt like you hurting his program, remember you talked about coaching at king.
