I would like to point out then when talking about east vs middle teams over the years this is a message board for what was 5A football, so Maryville until this year is not something that can be mentioned along with Alcoa and so on.

It's true the East Tennessee teams are competitve, which makes for exciting games! HOWEVER at the end of the day Middle Tennessee teams come out with the win, more than they do with the loss- therefore Middle Tennessee teams are a better/different caliber of football- Especially in Rutherford County where ther are always 3-4 Teams that could be most in the state and sometimes don't even make the playoffs- which will absolutely happen this year with the new classification in 6-A Riverdale, Oakland, Blackman, and Smyrna are all contenders to be considered excellent football teams that could be anyone on any given day, and only 2 will be guaranteed a birth to the playoffs- Which shows the dominance. Oakridge, Ootewah, and so on are good teams over the years yet they always fall short when looking at the overall picture.

If Riverdale comes out hyped up and excited to play football like they did last week against Wilson Central, I predict it Riverdale will win by at least 2 TD's. Last week Riverdale looked like Riverdale football for the first time in a while. Smyrna has not lived up to the hype this year, and we will see what they are truly about Friday. Turnovers and ball possesion will play a large part in this game. My predictioin Riverdale 28 Smyrna 10.

Yes that is true. Riverdale had a player who illegally played as a pick up player for an elite team, during a tournament. The rules are in TSSAA that a player can not practice or play with an elite or "summer team" during the highschool season. The player violated the rule, unfortunatley there is nothing the coach or players can do about the situation because they were unaware of the player, playing for another team during the season. It is quite a heartbreaker for the other RHS players, to have worked so hard and come so far during the season, to have it cut short on something they cannot control. It truly is a bad situation. Also if you do know the name of the player please keep his name off the boards. Thanks

The only intersting part about the game is how un coached blackman is. I thought Riverdale played good, Blackman has alot of work to do if they want to make it throught the ditrict without being the laughing stock.

Lets make sure we dont single out a player and make them look bad on this thred. Did any teams play this weekend and what was the outcome. Season starts this week...I know I cant wait its guna be great!!

For the Murfreesboro people who cant make it to cleveland...will the game be broadcast on the radio like Jeff Jordan or will we just not have a radio..anybody know?

I am by no means trying to take anything away from the Riverdale team because they are good and are well coached.  But I don't understand why people seem to think that Coffee Co is so weak or unable to beat them or anyone else in the state.  They too have quiet a bit of talent.  So I guess we will see when it gets started and in May who is doing what.

Your absolutely right Coffe Co does have most of their starters back, but they are stil weak. Yes they shocked the softball world by beating Riverdale last year, but this is a whole new year...

It seems that Soddy Daisy is always one of the best.....but the better watch out for the Lady Warriors of Riverdale......they are an amazing team filled with so much talent.

I read everything I just dont like to post on these threads because there are too many people who are so argumenative and I honestly just dont want to deal with them I argue enough during football....I like to enjoy basketball....yeah I saw your mom at the game...lol

Yeah there were 8T's for cookeville that night but when RHS played at Cookeville they beat them by about 20 so I think RHS proved they dont need home cooking to win.....and for the siegel game the refs were extremely horrible both ways so dont try to blame that on the refs siegel lost and that is then end they are still number one in the district with 2 big games left and RHS has the right to be excited bout beating Siegel cuz whether youll admit it or not the sielgel nation does have an effect on some players...and Siegel is an all around outstanding team that deserves all the credit they get but dont just throw RHS team spirit and heart out the window its not fair to the players or fans

Rankin kinda has to leave first and he hasnt done that yet.

It was a great game...it came down to the wire and OHS came away with the win

Actually VT is interested in Dave as a punt returner and DB.So you dont know what your talking about.He is VT material but more than likely will not be going there.
