  1. Baylor, N.Dame, Ooltewah, Tyner on one side and CSAS, R.Bank, Cleveland, McCallie are on the other side of the bracket. It seems as though these should have been the semi-final games but that is the way they have been setup!

The brackets are wacky!! The best 4 teams all with winning records are on the same side (Ooltewah/Tyner/McCallie/Cleveland. The other side is Red Bank/CSAS/Baylor/Notre Dame. I wonder who drew up theses brackets? Could it have been the host school??

  2. Mountainair: Being a Baylor basketball parent, I agree with you about McCallie's team. Wonder how they would be if they played the kids that played on the team since middle school. Oh that's right, they either quit or warm the bench since all of the Atlanta transfers came to McCallie.

What's really sad about your comments is that of the 12 players that McCallie dresses, only 3 are boarders. That means 9 are from the Chattanooga area. So I'd be careful in saying that McCallie has recutited and play only Atlanta kids.

  3. Should be pretty good. Tavares Jefferson is injured and unlikely to play the entire season. That kills any chance they had of making a State Championship run in D-II. Miles is good but not the scorer or distributed that Jefferson is. Trent Wallace is 6-8 and multi-skilled...can handle, shoot the three and score inside...if he keeps his head on straight in terms of focus (not an attitude deal at all, just focus and needs to relax) he could be really good and help this team alot. Gary Pope is a solid player, needs to incorporate perimeter skills into his game...has the skill but hasnt done it in games yet. This team will probably make state tourney but wont go much further than 1st round.

What happened to Tavares Jefferson? That kid can play.

  4. Josh Smith is one of the best linebackers in the whole world. He is rough and tough and will hit u in the mouth every play. He WILL go to the NFL someday and be the next Joe Montana. BUT...... he will have to lose all that fat. I think he is weighing around 300 pounds right now. But anyway, GO JOSH!!!!

  5. What happened was it was a moving screen or a charge, but it was off of a screen. The player who got ran over on the foul got to shoot free throws. He made his first one that made the score 66 to 61 and then the refs talked something over by possibly being persuaded by Temple's coach and they took away South Pittsburg's points and just gave them the ball, and that was the end of South Pittsburg's run.

The reason that south pitt didn't get to shoot the free throws is the new rule this year. The new rule is that if you commit an offensive foul when you are in possession of the ball, the defensive team only gains possession of the ball no shots are allowed. its the same as the college rule. Temple's coach knew the rule and asked the refs to enforce it. Soth Pittsburg's coach didn't argue because he knew it was the right call. it's a shame when the coaches know the rules better than the officials. Good call by Temple's coach

  6. Coach Wadley has never intentionally missed a hand shake. If he missed one at the District Championship game it might have been because the grace players had stormed the court and he waited atleast 5 minutes in line waiting to shake their hands. You can't name those 4 seniors. Be careful when you attack a man of good character
