Depth at pitching is be strong suit of the team

I haven't seen any of the other teams play but I did see 25 or so DB games.

"He doesn't care about wins before conference games" If true, probably the only coach in America that thinks this way. Also if true, "year in and year out" It's not working. DB hasn't exactlly set the woods on fire during January and after. And the tourny record is nothing to write home about. Im pretty sure that most if not all coaches actually try to win "every" game. But what do I know, I live in my mothers basement and never go to any games.

Let's see - you said 'DB hasn't exactlly set the woods on fire during January and after' Like you even have a clue one way or the other. Charlie Morgan has 90+% win record past Jan 1 while at DB.

And you said "And the tourny record is nothing to write home about" - Really? you know all about that huh? Swept the Conference Title, District Tournament and Region Tournament. That makes 5 Region Tournament Championships for CMO - I know you don't know this - but that puts a team in the Sweet 16 of teams still playing Basketball in the State. Plus - you wouldn't know... that winning the Region Title affords a team to host a Sectional (Sub State) Game. CMO and the Indians are 4-0 in Sub State Games in the Dome - you wouldn't know anything about that. Last thing you wouldn't have a clue about - winning those Sub State games puts a team in the Elite 8 and play in the State Tournament

I expect this one will go very similar to the last meeting between JC and DB. Indians speed, superior guard play, outside shooting, and interior passing will be enough for Charlie Morgan to bring home a Region Title.

The DB Indians are on a roll. 14 of them since Jan 1 and 2 weeks ago the Indians wore out Jeff Co.

Total exposing their lack of speed and outside shooting. Charlie Morgan for coach of the year.

I haven't seen The Smokey Bears this year but they are always a tough hard playing team.

I know Jeff Co is hard to beat at home and that is the only reason I give them the edge over the Vikings in the Semis.

Anybody know where the district tournament is? Dates?

I just have to comment on this. Patrick Good from Crockett is the best PG in the district and it's not even close. The kid is a Sophomore and averaging 30-40 points a game. In fact, he almost single-handedly beat your Indians at the Dome a month ago. Foreman is a good player but the Good kid is by far the best player in this area.

Your right... I forgot about Good. Their going to have to change his name to Patrick Great.

I am going to guess if the Topper fans stick around after their girls play, they wont recognize this Indians team

I really wasn't bragging about the 3 wins to start 2014 - which is now 4 wins with a good performance at South last night.

I was (poorly I admit) doing, was disputing the so called DB fans who have taken too bashing Charlie Morgan as a coach, this team and the DB Basketball Program.

Charlie Morgan is a great coach and DB is lucky he has stayed in Kingsport. He has his system of getting a team ready for tournament time and it does not change. Every team makes the post season in HS Basketball - and Morgan has always played 12-14 players all game long during Nov-Dec to determine who the 8-10 players are that will make his team the strongest for post season. He is a tough coach to play for and he does not take any crap from players or parents. Good for him.

Now - this DB team has the most talent Morgan has had in 10 seasons - (no question about it). And Morgan has them playing at a different level since Jan 1 - like 3 levels up. The Post game is getting 40 pts a game - and the team shooting percentage is souring. It took Foreman 8 weeks to get football out of his system, he is now playing like the best PG in the District.

I have no clue what the comment about the Harlem Globetrotters was about?? There not on DB's schedule - was that about the make up of the team?

Charlie Morgan's DB team is just fine thanks. 3-0 in 2014 - winning by 25 ppg - offense is clicking and the post players are dominating. Get South on the road Tuesday night - get the Toppers at home Friday night. It's going to be a great week for DB basketball.

Wacky- you know you haven't seen a basketball game at the dome since Buck was coaching - remember- that time your mom didn't show up to pick you after school and you had to stay late. You started griping about the coaching, saying Leroy Sprankle was rolling over in his grave.

So, DB just can't get over some kind of mental thing in JC.

When you watch your team play and loose to a better team, well, you can accept it and go on and feel good that you gave it a try but the other team is just better

When you watch your team play and loose to a team that is about equal to your team, it hurts some to loose that game, might hurt a lot. It could be a home court thing, it could be the other team made a big play....you get 'em next time

When you watch your team play and loose to a team that is far inferior to your team, well you just walk away in dis-believe. Thats how it was Tuesday night. The Indians talent level is thru the roof compared the what SH has on the court. The Toppers have 1 player that would get playing time on a typical Topper team. This is not a typical Topper team. It has to be the worst team I have ever seen play for Science Hill, without question, it is and I have seen their teams play since '77 - this Topper team has players that can't dribble getting playing time. Their fans know it too.... half of them left as soon as the girls game was over. It was the smallest crowd I have ever seen at the Topper Palace for a DB -SH game.

DB played a bad a game, no question. Terrible shooting, not that the Toppers defense was great, it was nothing...just a bad a game by the Indians.

Ha..your right, you dont know. Its easy to understand how you dont know about coaches and coaching styles and players, when you never go to the games. It is understood that you dont know.

Example: Last season QB Cook goes out with a neck injury. The debate raged on (the debate was all yours) about who would be the QB. Obvioulsy it wouldn't be Malik Foreman (he's a WR) who would he throw it too? Right? Did you even know that DB was running a triple option offense that is totally run oriented and utlilizes speed? Probably not.

Good for your guys... you may not know much about Charlie Morgan's early season coaching style. He doesn't care about wins before conference play begins. As evidence to the fact that he puts his team thru much more practice time than actual games in Nov and Dec. Games prior to Jan. are considered little more than practice and he could and does play reserves more than starters during this early season. It's nothing new for him, he does it year in and year out.

Charlie Morgan has his best team in a decade. The Indians have a lot of talent, good to great shooters and they will play good defense.

The Toppers will know payback is a b***ch come Jan 2. Alumni - the Love kid will be on the team after Jan 1 and he will add to a very deep team.

Watch out for a Soph Diaper Dandy in Matt Halverson - all talent and all hustle. This is a tough Indians team - Morgan has no "Bobble heads" on this team.

Hey Coach Mo! Your bleacher buddy here. I got up with your greatest student if the game and most talented player you ever coached this summer. Bruce T - All-Time DB scoring leader (by a mile). Bruce is back in town and we played several rounds of golf this year. We were old Sevier Terrace buddies growing up.

Anyway....here is some afermation for you. Bruce and I was talking about the Coaches he played for thru his playing days. Bruce said " I played 4 years in the SEC and played against teams from the ACC and Big 10, you name it...but I learned the most about the game of basketball from Coach Morrison at Sevier. He said you were by far the best coach he ever had.

DB has a diaper dandy this year that you will want to see play. Matt Halverson a Soph. This kid is something special. Your going to like the way he plays ball
