  1. The Indians have only played 4 games, Coach Morgan chose to practice for 2 weeks instead of play...I think that has served the young Indians well. DB has depth, playing 11 players a lot of min. I know that is C-Mo's MO in the beginning of the season, but this year the quality of depth will alloy him to platoon his players more than he has been able to over the past 4-5 years.

DB is a good team. I know that the Toppers will be the favorite and well they should be. I am really looking forward to getting to see a game in the new Topper Gym...does it have a nickname yet?

DB vs Science Hill next Friday Night in the Buck Van Huss Dome

  2. Art here's my starting 5 : Makel Foreman,Tylek Love,Alantez Johnson,A.J Anderson,Connor Mitchell.

That is a good 5 with a lot of athletic kids who have some length.. DB will be a really good defensive team this year...plus, Morgan has 5 more players that can come in anytime and give productive min. FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE DOME VS CROCKETT

  3. Waco doesn't know anything about football yet he's the only DB fan to say that the SH and DB game was going to be close. I for one think he has a lot sense.

Other things were also said, like:

The DB vs Farragut game would not be a blow out, it would be a 1 score game

    Sevier County will beat DB

Malik Foreman won't be quarterback, East or Holt will....who would he throw too?

If Clark coaches conservitive and doesn't open up his offense, DB will be one and done...refering to loosing to Bearden and then Sevier County if DB didn't throw the kitchen sink at them. Clark's offense threw a total of 5 passes in Round 1 and 2 combined, and couldn't have been more simplistic in the play calls.

As far as humor goes...I totally agree...Hilarious at times. Right there will Starz & Barz with his videos. Still the best one liner ever on CoachT:

STRING: VOLUNTEER VS SULLIVAN NORTH - First Post....What do you think about this game? Response by Waco - There will be a fight in the parking lot. I was in tears.

Truce Waco - If Gaza and Isreal can call I truce we can too. Happy Thanksgiving

  4. I don't know what ideal numbers would be. I'd think somewhere around 80 would be good for a 6A title contender. One thing I would predict for D-B football is an upward trend in numbers and quality of "2 deep" players. With the recent annexation of Colonial Heights, a few good players are going to leak out of there every year and that number is going to bulid as the years pass. South will trend downward to 3A in 5 years and 2A in 10, if it even stays open. The Charger program has always turned out a hand full of good players each year. The really good ones may opt for the limelight now that Mom and Dad are already paying those taxes.

I would like to go ahead and pencil in about 10-15 players the size of Josh Holt or Will Galasscock....if DB could have that, we would be Maryville with a Tripple Option Offense and more speed. Please tell those players to enroll in school asap. And, I guess in time that will happen.

  5. D-B Basketball 2012-2013 how's it look ????

Good question, I am curious too. No Malik Foreman and I don't think Debo is playing. Morgan returns a bunch of players and added Bryce Alshie Soph.(Tylers little brother). I think we will be pretty good, no way to challenge the Hill Toppers though. Get on the court in about 8 or 9 days and see.

  6. Good points Art except you might be spoiled by these 10-0 seasons lately. Next year COULD BE like a few years ago when you lose 3 games in the regular season. If that happens some fans are going to complain about over scheduling. Those strength of schedules for opponents won't matter if you're being seeded 5 thru 8 and going on the road for a 1st round playoff game.

True Crawdad.... but I do not see the Indians coming close to 3 losses next season.

If DB had 100 players on the sidelines again...25 of them would be 115-130 pounders who would never play and would only slow down practice...that's what the Indians had when they had players lined up from the 20 yard line to the other 20 yard line. Clark reduced the number of players intentionally to maximize practice for the players that play...and I for one applaud that with a standing ovation. You don't see the band with 25 kids playing kazoo's

Excitement in the fottball program? If you don't think there is excitement in DB Football, you don't watch DB Football. Why do you think Mailk Foreman's Soph. brother has decided to play football next year? Excitement in DB Football is the answer. And, he is going to be really good.

  7. Coach Clark has finalized the Indians non-conference schedule for 2013. 4 Games - 2 vs 6A opponents Farragut and Sevier County - both at home - 2 vs 5A opponents - East Hamilton and Ooltewah - both on the road...long road trips and the Tribe Fans will travel well. Ooltewah is a 2 year home and away series.

East Hamilton is will be in their 5th year of being a school - started out 4A and the Hurricanes move up to 5A next season. They are building a good program with 1 win in year '09, 2 wins in '10, 6 wins in '11 and going 11-2 this season with a close Quarter Finals loss to Giles County 22-16 just last week.

All opponents should help the Indians with their Playoff Standings, as all 4 will more than likely have an above .500 record in 2013. Clinton killed DB's rating the past 2 years. Both will also give the Indians much better games than the teams they replace, Clinton and South.

  8. LGVol I am a believer too. Maryville is awesome and this is an average team with a lot of 1 year starters who are Seniors because they have to wait there turn to get a starting position. That #11 QB is really good (1 yr. starter), he runs that offense very well. The Backs are fantastic. The Red Rebels are solid. I bet their 2nd team could make the playoffs.

    Go Red Rebels

  9. Word from Coach Clark today - the Indians have 3 of 4 out of Conference Games set and are still negotiating the 4th game. Farragut will again be the Week 0 game, and it will be at Home as will the annual Sevier County Game...that game is now a fixture for both teams and looks like it will for years to come...we have had some classic games in this Series. DB has replace Clinton with a Chattanooga area team and that game will be on the road. I expect that will be in the same slot as the Clinton game, Week 1 or the 2nd game of the season. Clark told me who it is but I didn't ask him if I could announce it so I will leave it at that. Indian Fans will have a good road trip for this one...the longest away game since MBA.

I did take the opportunity to say that I would like to see Oak Ridge or Bearden back on the schedule.

  10. Waco - your just an idiot. No show Waco. Show up or shut up.

You have been exposed as an old man who for the past 10 years has ranted about how much you know about football and yet in those 10 years you have not been to 10 games. For 10 years you have put down players and coaches and fans. And you never go to the games. For 10 years you talk like your an expert on DB Football and you have rarely shown up at J. Fred Johnson Stadium to watch the Indians play. You rely on hearing what everybody else says, watching videos or just making up crap.

You actually argued that Malik Foreman should not be the DB QB when Chris Cook suffered his season ending injury. Brilliant, right? You sayed it would be Holt or East...you said no way it would be Forman, he is a Wide Receiver.... and then you said "who would he throw too?"...And I replied exactly correct when I said he wasn't going to throw it to anybody...DB was going to run and run and run the ball and run and run and run the ball they did.

You know how I feel, your full of crap and from now on everybody knows you don't really know what your talking about, again...because you never go to the games. So, anytime you open your crap trap, I will call you on it. Period...end of discussion.

And, if you do ever show up, I will point you out to the dozens of people who have wanted to know who are for the past 10 years...and they didn't want to know so they could tell you how great you are.

  11. Probably a good idea ....

Hey Art !! Did you see see Randall Cobb get the winning TD against the Detroit Lions ??? After you pointing out how Slow and Clumsy he is , I was able to break that play down in slow motion since I tivoed it . I think you may be right , I think both of those Detroit Lions DB's overestimated his Speed and that's how he was able to fool both of them and get open , they thought he HAD SPEED !! Also it actually looked to me like he tripped and just accidentally caught the ball as he was falling down !! Thanks Art , If I hadn't got the inside info from you I would of just Thought Randall was really good and really fast !!!

I missed that ole buddy... I was watching limited NFL on Sunday...my wife had me cleaning carpets. Great for Cobb, great for East TN Football. We are getting more and more players in the NFL and they are making big impacts. Good luck Friday Night against Siegel

  12. Next year we can all get in here and talk specific x's and o's, but here is the big picture of how the 2013 BIG 7 will play out:

    - DB and SH will mop the floor with the others and then play for the conference title.

    - Boone and Tenn High will win all conference games (except DB and SH)

    - Tenn High beats Boone and gets a better seed in the playoffs in 5A

    1. SCIENCE HILL

    2. DOBYNS-BENNETT

    3. TENNESSEE HIGH

    4. DANIEL BOONE

    5. VOLUNTEER

    6. SULLIVAN CENTRAL

    7. DAVID CROCKETT

Congratulations to the Indians and Vikings for making it so deep into the playoffs

    See you guys next year....

The Toppers may be the pre-season favorite for the first time in a long long time. I think the Indians and the Toppers need to get them a good 6A opponent or 2 added to the schedule to help prepare for November. The Vikings may have the players to compete for second place, don't they return a lot of starters, especially the backs?

  13. We need to fix the defense in the off season. We didn't look so hot there the last four games. I can feel the excitement coming back DB football. Maybe we can get our numbers back up to around 80 or 90. Get some new guys out to play football/

"We"? Who's this "we"? You got a Football Team in your pocket?

"We" didn't look so hot there the last four games? What do you know about it? For your information - DB played 4 very good 6A Football Teams the last 4 games....and those 4 very good Football Teams had a combined record of 39-3 when the Indians played those games. DB went 3-1 in those games and only got beat by the best team in the state for the last 12 years running on their home field. "We" looked very good!!

Maybe "we" can get our numbers back up to 80 or 90? That is rediculous! Clark has worked those numbers down on purpose.. you can't get the reps for the players that need the reps in the limited practice the TSSAA allows if you are trying to work 4 and 5 strings deep.

    You have no clue WaCo

  14. DB might have some growing pains over the in the next couple of years.I hope there is enough talent from the different classes to limit that.

I am glad that "verbally"... Malik Foreman's brother Machale (sp?) who will be a JR. next year is going to play football next season. He is the starting Point Guard for the BBall Team and will be a major addition to the Indians next year.

How about former Conference Super Star Curt Phillips (South Rebels) leading the Wisconsin Badgers at QB against Ohio State at this current time... on the goal line trying to go in for the tying score.

  15. Let's get the talk started for next season for DISTRICT 1 AAA - THE BIG SEVEN CONFERENCE

Memebers: DANIEL BOONE, DAVID CROCKETT, DOBYNS-BENNETT, SCIENCE HILL, SULLIVAN CENTRAL, TENNESSEE HIGH, VOLUNTEER

We loose Sullivan South to District 1 AA. So most teams will have to replace that game on their schedule. I just heard South AD Anthony Richardson say that their 4 non-conference games next year will be: DANIEL BOONE, TENNESSEE HIGH, GATE CITY and they are talking to Middlesboro, KY and Greeneville. He did mention that the Rebels will not be playing DB any more.

So with that, DB will have 2 new games on their schedule next year, replacing: Sullivan South, Clinton. I am glad to drop both.

  16. it was a great crowd, great weather, great bands...perfect atmosphere at THE SKEETER.

What a great stadium you have there in Maryville...and what a great team and coach!! Really impressive.

The Red Rebels are so good...they made DB work so hard for every yard and every score and then you guys scored with ease. I just wonder this: HOW DOES MARYVILLE GET THOSE PLAYERS AND HOW ARE THEY THAT GOOD EVERY YEAR? I mean, this is what, an average Red Rebel team? DB would have to have their best ever Defense and their best ever kicker and their best ever O-Line and at least as good of skill players to beat them...that probably won't happen.

Great season by Graham Clark and the Indians. It was fun team to watch every game, spectacular all season.

    Thanks for the memories
