Is nobody from the administrative/moderator staff monitoring this or going to answer this question about uploading/deleting avatar? I asked this question almost a year ago.

  2. Regardless of what happens Friday night, it speaks volumes about this team being able to reload and make its third straight appearance in the Semi-Finals and two consecutive appearances in the Championship.

I've said this before, but it's difficult to beat a team twice in the same season. Dresden did get past UC both times so credit is due there, but can they do it again? and at McKenzie? The Rebels will still be remembering that Week 2 loss and I think a good chance to come away with a nail-biting win. Need to get the penalties under control after last night's showing though.

Like VolnWTN said, it'll be an epic environment and an epic game.

I will never understand the lack of logic in who travels in this situation under any sane system Dresden would be at home. Undefeated region champ vs a team they beat in the regular season... undefeated and 1-0 vs the opponent is traveling?  Okay Dresden big IMO

Nothing wrong with the bracket and makes sense. McKenzie lost the original meeting obviously, but both McKenzie and Dresden are Region Champions and both are #1 seeds in the playoff bracket. Like mentioned above, the brackets alternate who hosts at home. Same reason why last year McKenzie had to travel to MASE in the Semis, this year McKenzie gets to host. In my opinion, I think it's a fair way to ensure teams get an opportunity to host every other year.

McKenzie got their wish. Dropped down to 1A to get a gold ball. There's no difference in 1A and 2A with the best of the best. McKenzie belongs in 2A and they know it. Enjoy playing cupcakes every year Rebels. You got what you wanted.

The enrollment numbers are easily found on the TSSAA website and McKenzie does not meet the criteria for 2A. Simple as that. This "McKenzie should be 2A" excuse is pointless. https://cms-files.tssaa.org/documents/tssaa/2022-23/2023classification.html#di-football

McKenzie has unfinished business? They got lucky to win the City game. Scored once in the 2nd half. A last second field goal. But I’ll give ‘em credit they definitely exploited City’s weaknesses. And City’s poor coaching and discipline. 11 penalties definitely kept McKenzie in the game. And they got it done in the end. But I’m not so sure that McKenzie is a great team. I guess we’ll find out this weekend.

Yikes. A little harsh don't you reckon? Calling luck and blaming coaches and discipline I don't think is fair to the McKenzie or the Fayetteville players. Two great teams met up and it lived up to its hype. This was the kind of game that you knew going into it that the one holding the ball last was probably going to win.

  7. Yeah, MASE was exposed. After seeing their strength of schedule, I wasn't just too terribly concerned but knew the Rebels still needed to come out and play tough. I said last week that Fayetteville scared me more than MASE.

We came out strong and put some pressure on them. For a couple of drives, MASE sparked to life, moved the ball well, and I thought we were going to have a contest on our hands like the Trenton game. In the second half though, MASE was so uninspired and had no motivation. With a little bit of adversity, you could see the finger-pointing and obvious frustration.

They've got some athletes on their team and had a good season. It'll be interesting to see what kind of threat they pose next year.

  8. One of the main reasons Huntingdon plays Milan is because of their rivalry. McKenzie doesn't have that kind of connection with Milan, and them being a 3A school, it serves McKenzie no benefit. Under the Z-Plan, the TSSAA doesn't reward you for playing up, but they have no issues punishing you if you lose when it comes to the postseason alignments.

You say McKenzie plays Westview and Camden all the time...they're 3A schools. So why not play Milan? Right. However, McKenzie has a lot of history with Camden and Westview, having played for years under the old playoff system when they were in 2A.

We all know that playing upward in class really helps your team improve for the most part. As a coach though, you have to strike a balance between scheduling tough opponents and ensuring you don't damage the teams opportunities in the playoffs by playing teams that are too tough and the cost ends up being far greater than the rewards.

  9. Yeah and thats equal to taking a picture of the scoreboard and photoshopping it to say McKenzie won when they lost.Just sayin!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again...that goes back to my point. Don't like it, make your own. It's not my job to make highlights of the opposing team, win or lose.

But to be quite honest, my videos have nothing to do with this weeks game and is completely turning the subject away from the original discussion.

I'm looking forward to this game, and may the best team win and everybody stay healthy. This is probably going to be one of the best games to watch in west tn.

  10. I think its great you do highlights so the kids can relook at their memories, I just wish you'd take the Parade one off doesnt show much class

Well, hey...Huntingdon, infamous for running the score up on us is complaining about me not showing class for posting a parade. It's a year old video, old news.

Thanks Kermit,Camden's young this year but improving.Got a Massive team in a few years Brewing.Post them vids up there Big Mck after this game.Bet there wont be any Stang's highlights on there LoL.And by the way,Please play us next year and dont remove us from your schedule.

You bet I probably will. And there won't be any Huntingdon highlights, it's McKenzie football not Stang football.

Couldn't play you next year even if the coaches wanted to. It's called a 2-year contract.

  11. Lol didnt you guys beat mckenzie that year???? I dont think McKenzie has beaten you any recently might be wrong just dont remember it, & hey CamdenBottoms I'm not trying to get your hopes up or nothing, but I believe playoff time you can beat Milan, Milan is a great team with great speed but didnt play a full game with us like you guys did. Morris will probably fix that though I bet. Wow I cant believe that guy put that on youtube without showing your highlights as well, whoever it is doesn't have much class showing a parade on youtube as well. There prob wont be any highlights even if its close cause itll remind them they lost lol

I'm the one who does the highlight videos and I'll do as I please. Got a problem with them, make your own.

  12. Wow...just wow.

Hats off to Gleason, played very well, much better than I ever anticipated. To be quite honest, you probably should have beaten us.

Sadly, I feel like we've taken a big step backwards in terms of improving offensively this week. Had a few shining moments, but...we're young and inexperienced and we've got some major growing pains, that's all I can really say. Congrats to the Rebel Defense for making the big stand and getting the win.

  13. Going with the Mustangs in this contest. After having witnessed Trenton against Milan, granted it was Milan, I really wasn't impressed. They may get some of the kinks ironed out before they go up against Huntingdon but at this point, Huntingdon can control the game if they'll work on ball security.

  14. McKenzie always on top and PC a one hit wonder. I know its only a half but can PC honestly hang for just a half with a power house program like McKenzie. PC prolly had a better chance last year of even half way being in the game with McKenzie. Its going to be a good experence for our little old team here in PC cant wait.

Don't be selling your team short. It's very possible Perry Co. will hang with the Rebels or even beat the Rebels, but it's possible the Rebels may stomp PC. It's just a Jamboree and nobody ever shows their full cards.

As I've learned over the years...a team may actually be a whole lot better than what they reveal in the Jamboree.

  15. I was reading in my Murphy Fair book about these McKenzie boys. I garuntee you that they will be good since they have a Mr. Football finaslist from last year back. This Vinson boy is a real big boy. He is 5'10 190lbs. He is big enough to play lineback in the SEC. Let me ask you a question. How fast does this boy run the 50 yard dash in? I was also reading about this Luke Roberson boy. He is 6'1 215lbs. He is a big boy to be a runner. How fast is this boy? If his blockers can nock a hole for him, he will be hard to tackle.

Haha. Shouldn't have to worry about Luke Robertson needing a hole to run through except on occasion. He'll be spending the bulk of his time under center.

As for Hunter, he'll be one of the starting running backs this year if I'm not mistaken and he'll be on defense some where I imagine.

  16. Well Ambassador Duckman is telling the truth. The middle scholl is the former Highschool. The new Highschool is relocated ofcourse and is about 2miles from the mid school. I suppose tradition and more or less costs of a new stadium are the reasons for not biulding a new one.

You're right Swo, building a new stadium had been talked about in the past when they built the new high school, but obviously that didn't pan out.

They decided on renovating the present stadium as it would be much cheaper, only around $800,000, instead of a 2-3 million for an all new stadium. Now it's a quality high school stadium. You don't see too many high schools in Tennessee our size that has enough seating for nearly 3000 seated fans, and can hold approximately 5,000 if you include the standing fans, along with two full size pressboxes and concession stands/restrooms.

Ironically, Rebel Stadium is better/nicer than several of the NAIA football stadiums I've been to during my time with the Bethel football team.

Then the question of what to do with the old stadium once the new one is built...bulldoze it or use it for the middle school. If you leave it, now you have to pay twice as much money taking care of the facilities and field maintenance. Bulldoze it, you destroy a piece of Rebel history and a fairly decent stadium.

It'd been great to get a new stadium but I like what we have now since the renovations were completed. And presently there are a few more renovations going on at the stadium that should be completed this summer.
