Greeneville has some good talent. They have Megan Lyons who is possibly one of the fastest girls in the state. She is awesome at the 100m, 110m hurdles, and the 300m hurdles. She will also do well in whatever field event she picks which will probably be long jump.
They also have sophomore Lauren Anderson who went to state last year in the 800m.
They have a new runner this year Senior Ben Wills who does well in cross country. He should do awesome in the mile, 2 mile, and the 800m for the guys.
P.S. watch out for those G-Vegas Spinners lol!

This is one of the biggest games in east tennessee. It is coming up next week. Of course this will be an awesome game as always. I think Greeneville will pull this one, but lets here some predictions

This game has been for as long as I can remember. It goes all the way back to the black tops in the play ground for these to teams. Greeneville will bring down the house at Science Hill and raise the roof at ole' Hal Henard. I hope that the Hilltoppers' new coach knows what he's getting into!!

What about the Greeneville Greene Devils
Greeneville has the talent to compete with the best in the state. Probably the biggest issue is gonne be keeping people healthy. The deepth is good, but injuries can be a problem for any team. I think BJ Washington has had a sprained ankle, but should be back soon.
We would have a real good chance of winnig the tournament we hosted here in Greeneville if we would have had Tracy Champion.

Sorry guys! Im here at school and seems one of the guys in my class found out my password and decided he was gonna use my screen name 2 talk smack. I changed my login stuff, so the smack talking kid shouldnt b back on. I didn't even hear about all the junk he was sayin till 2day when i logged on for myself and found out what had been written. i actually know what im talkin about. the other guy doesnt. PLEASE disregard what has been posted on the basketball forums. Sorry to all the Greeneville basketball fans and all high school basketball fans alike for what the guy has been posting. Anything written in any basketball forum before the time this was posted please disregard.

My real beef is that Happy Valley is ranked up there. and not only the Greeneville rank but Science Hill over DB is an ingnorant move but it is the JC Press

No doubt Maryville wins the State title. I believe (and hopefully) Melrose will give us a better game than we saw tonight vs. THS. I dont know much about Melrose, other than the fact at how many D1 players they had last year, but after seeing the game tonight and talking with the guys it is obvious Maryville just wants it more. Maryville will be on top, but it will be a close game.
You are absolutely right. That is exactly why Melrose will loose the championship game. They have all kinds of talent year in and year out, but unlike Maryville they can't line up a team that plays together.

You are actually ranked above DB.......what is your beef? I don't see why DB isn't in the top 2 or #1? They are only coming off back to back State Tournament appearances, and I'm sure Greeneville did well against Clinton and Bearden, but DB also just got back from beating K. Central, Farragut and Karns en route to the Chop House Tourney Championship. So add that to the past 2 years and I don't see your beef. That is like a DB person 5 years ago talking about how its bogus they aren't ranked about Science Hill early in the year, when the Hill had dominated the postseason against them for the past years.

Talking trash doesn't help Greeneville. It makes us look bad. There is nothing wrong with honestly evaluating the polls, but the trash talk and calling newspapers stupid without any justification besides the fact that they didn't pick us as number one only hurts the team in the eyes of others.
Well thank you for informing me that my trash talk will be harmful to my team. Maybe i should e-mail u what i think before i post it so u can make sure i'm not hurting anyone. thumb

By the sound of things this is gonna be a fun match up. Melrose's spread offense could present Maryville with a problem. In the end I don't see this as a hurdle Maryville can't jump. Both teams have great defense and I don't think either team will score over 28. In the end though Maryville is just to physical for Melrose. 28-14 Maryville.

Jonanthan Murner is form Panama City Florida. He is the 5th cousin of Danny Ainge. And when he was 8 he played a little 1 on 1 with Larry Bird and shut'em out. I think Danny helped a little bit. But his a great kid and me and him have become great friends. He'll be a force to to reckoned with the next couple of years.

The starting five for Greeneville will be Eric Anderson at point Tyler Bailey and Andrew Shumate at Wing and Tracy Champion and Jonathan Murner at post. If they stay healthly this there Greeneville will earn a trip to state!!!

The toughest place to play in 3A basketball is definitely Hal Henard GYM where the Greene Devils play. it's a great arena and the fans there are ruthless against the opponents. Noboby can come into Hal Henard and just take away a win easy.

Im pretty sure nobodys gonna be killing anybody. This will be an awesome game right down to the wire. I think Greeneville will win this one. At any rate Dyersburg people stop complaining about not getting any respect ur gettin plenty in case u havent noticed more people r picking Dburg over Greeneville. Dburg is obviously a good team cause bad teams dont go 2 state tournaments.
