  1. Smith Co. looked very good at Livingston last night, beating the Wildcats 11-0. Sanders threw a 1 hitter, had 11 strikeouts. Haskins hit a towering Homer. Everyone seemed to put the bat on the ball forcing Livingston to make plays; and the "D" looked good. Great effort Owls. Go get 'em today.

  2. What all does DCA have? Who does everyone think will win?

Good win last night Owls. A little sloppy towards the end; but an ugly win is still a win. Played well with a key player missing. Carver really stepped up and had a big game. Go get Trousdale Friday night. Good Luck!

The stats are from The Tennessean through completion of regular season. QB calculator requires interceptions which are calculated from game summaries in The Tennessean.

Congratulations to all of these young men on a fine season and best wishes to all in the playoffs.

I would love to see similar calculations for other great quarterbacks in the state: BJ Coleman, Erik Larson, Adam Currie, Curt Phillips,...

Patrick Sanders at Smith County High School. His numbers according to primecomputing.com are:

    102.86 / 149.93 / 67-133 / 1137 / 13 / 3

  4. Still waiting for "Superwho" to check in with us. He is "MIA!" Of course that doesn't really surprise me considering he did all the trash talking for the big blue tigers. Actually this is 9 times in a row. Don't forget that one spring game. I like to count that one too.

Gordonsville played a good game. They come out and ran the plays that everyone in the stadium knew they would run, and they executed them against a uncharacteristic Owl defense. I hear the Gordonsville faithful throwing up the fumble on the 1 yard line as somewhat of a crutch. The only thing that would have done was make for a little better ballgame with the outcome being the same. Someone also said that Gville missed a field goal. No sir, it was blocked! Big difference.

Smith County worried me at the start of the game. The Owls were giving up some big plays from Alexander and Smith. That really surprised me. But, I expected the SC coaching staff to go in at half and make the necessary changes and that was exactly what happened. Gville had punched that ticket way too many times in the first half. It was a totally different ballgame the second half. Like Gordonsville did, SC missed an extra point, missed a field goal, had a 70 something yard touchdown of Jacob Bass to get called back, or the game could have been decided before it actually was.

Well, until next year Gordonsville fans, good luck. I wish you all the best. Finally, I don't have to listen to all that, "this year is the year" stuff for atleast another year.

The Owl coaches went in and changed their base defense they were playing at halftime, I beleive is what a player told me. That could be one reason they kind of stopped the G-ville offense in the second half, I think another reason would be, that we came out with alot better intensity and desire that second half. Sanders settled down, and Tez had several huge plays, as did many others. Overall great job last night Owls. :thumb: Let's take it to JC.

  5. The best Team won..... I looked back on last weeks SC / KC thread and saw some good reasons why the Owls lost and thought about using them.. I'll stick with the best team won... But if you want an excuse here is one...The Tigers have trouble getting up for a team that is not a contender :thumb:

You know you had rather win THIS game more than any other game on your schedule. And as far as not getting up for a contender....We'll contend. You just need to get ready for R.B.S.

  6. Thats the suprise Z. Its game day, nothing can be done to change plans now. GV has the lines to deal with yall this year. You will see tonight how well that new line the Owls have is able to perform agaonst GV. It will be interesting to watch the owl coach trying to make adjustments. This will define his abilities if he is able to get the win. I dont see it happening. Time for me to go get some cash to spend. After the game I will chat again. Go Tigers!!!!

Well, I'll give the O & D line of Gordonsville credit; but, it looks like the coach you are talking about for the Owls made the "necessary adjustments" to get the win!

Great second half tonight Owls! Keep it going!

  7. Will you still be here after the season is over with?

Hey Cream-muff, settle down. You're not getting upset with any of us Owl fans are you? We're only trying to support our team. What team do you support? Hee, Hee, Hee. :thumb:

  8. Well I guess it doesn't matter which 11 of the 80 or so Owls start on defense, they will be sure to run a 40 in under 5 seconds. I'd say even if you threw a couple of the SC waterboys into the lineup, the starting D would all still run under a 5 flat.

How did you know? Man...word sure does travel fast.
