  1. I am so ticked off after reading this thread. When I saw 17 pages, I thought for sure there would be a lot of good football talk. And then after I read it, it's all about leprechauns, stalkers, dictionaries, toilets, people named jackie, and words I can't pronounce. I just wish someone would write a post about football!! I can't stand reading the other stuff!!!! Please write about football and the game itself, not all the other stuff!!!!!

So that being said, what are the restrooms like at Lipscomb? You know I don't usually worry about it to much, but it's supposed to be a cold night, and you know what a cold night means? Hot chocolate! And I don't know about everyone else, but when I drink hot chocolate.... it's like an elephant laxative! So I just wanted some insight from the lipscomb regulars...could i get a rating, you know 1-5 stars, on number of of stalls, cleanliness, choice of reading material, etc....

  2. Let's try to set the record straight. I have nothing against Lipscomb...as I have said many times...they have a great program. I root for them ...sometimes.... and esp against region 2. This is a week that I normally like to sit out due to how I feel and some past Lipscomb posters.

I do not like private schools in regional play with public schoools.

The situation at Page with all the re-zoning literally has made me sick. When you factor in the "zones" at public schools with the "open" situation at privates...I will never see the fairness in that.... and don't bother to comment.

I think Page is a year away from contending. The goal this year is to make the playoffs. Most Public schools "typically" go thru periods of strength followed by a down time.

Maybe this week, we get two of our playmakers back. We are still a work in progress with no easy spots on the schedule.

sniff....sniff.... let me wipe the tear from my eye...

So Page players, here is what one of your supporters says about you... I'll paraphrase... you can't beat them in football... people with advantages cannot be beaten, don't waste your time trying, settle for mediocrity in everything you do, because someone else will always have more advantages... its time to learn that life isnt fair, i hope you all grow up to work at mcdonalds and loathe the people who are successful

  3. Since we are getting serious on here finally I am posting my prediction:

Lipscomb's margin of victory will be the same as the game ending temperature.

    on a celsius scale.

  4. whats a donkey rat? its a burro

and like ive told you before .. ive seen teams get beat on their own

and ive seen teams get cheated ... and im not just talking about maplewood, ive seen others teams get the shaft just as well.

Its easy to talk like you believe that maplewood can get beat without the refs, but i'll bet money next time they lose you blame it on the refs...again!

  5. logical explanation .. i have one ..maplewood got beat that night ..there were no bogus calls ..just good honest football and maplewood came up short.

63 hater ..sounds like you been in the bushes with them donkey rats

what's a donkey rat? I was merely stating the obvious that it is impossible for maplewood to lose on their own.

  6. Ok, finally a Maplewood win over Hillsboro, lol. 56-0. wow.

Well, I see a Whites Creek sweep, a double, two wins, call it what you want.

Oh yeah Boski, I remember sitting in the cold watching the creek pound Maplewood. Stopping them with 4 downs from the one.

I see Jamie Graham scoring 4 TD's this week. He'll be the Difference. He'll return a punt, kickoff, int, and catch a td. He might even rush for one, giving him 5. Maplewood has T. Holt, we have graham. Two great players.

In the freshman game we'll run away from that man-child defensive end. and we'll plug the middle and stop that great fullback who didn't play in the regular season game.

whoever thinks the talent pool is drying up at maplewood, is wrong. the future looks bright for maplewood.

I'm sure that boski had a logical explanation for why they got stopped, probably something about aliens abducting the ball and then returning it to the wrong spot therefore causing them to lose the game. You see it is never maplewoods fault when they lose!!!

  7. LOL now thats funny

The answer to the previous question about boski and athomp is that they are actually the same person with two different user names. There similarities are striking. They have the same passion for Maplewood and the same lack of intelligence. athomp is also a new member meaning boski created him to try to make it look like there was another whackjob out there like him

  8. Tennessean Media bias isn't just Williamson County: Here is the heirchy of coverage

    Private Schools in Williamson County

    Privates Schools in Metro

    Public SChools in Williamson County

    Publica Schools in Metro

Riverdale now that Rankin is gone.

Very simple why: Money. Circulation plays a part in who gets covered.

Tennessean Coverage is at an alltime high. I like the expanded coverage and I'm happy that Tennessean recognized this need. I fully support there efforts, even though I know it means expanded coverage of the privates who have lots of money supporters.

Wouldn't it be great if we all lived in China and everyone was treated equally? It sure would make it nice, then everyone could get equal media coverage of their school.

  9. I'd hardly say that a team with two losses in it's own class proved that they are in a different league. Now 15-0 for a couple of years in a row might prove that, but not 13-2, with another loss already this year.

Lipscomb proved last year that they are in a different league then a should be 5a but untill then not many people unlees they get lucky and beat them unless it is for they state championship taking libscomb hands down

  10. I actually think some of the fans could do a good job running the program. If MC were smart they would hold a Madden tournament with a $50 entry fee for all participants. Whoever won obviously be the best suited for a head coaching position as it would prove they know how to manage a game situation. After this, give them a 1 game trial. If they win the game, hire them. If they lose the game let second runner up coach the next game. If they win hire them instead. So on and so on until you find someone who can win. Then after your head coach is in place use the proceeds from the tournament to purchase new horns for the band. If you are able to improve the band as well as the coaching staff, you have set your team up for success. You don't have to agree, just my opinion.

When the fans try to run the football program it’s always a recipe for disaster. The players are not going to play for the coaches if all they hear from the FANS is how bad the coaches are. Support your team and the coaches… in good times and bad… Moore County will be back if the community will get behind them instead of constantly putting them down.

  11. Was this post supposed to make sense?

If so, what are you trying to say?

OBVIOUSLY, Lipscomb should beat Cheatham County this year by at least a couple of TD's. Last year Lipscomb's scores looked a bit more impressive than they looked on the field against Cheatham because the Cubs turned the ball over 8 times in those 2 games, and each one seemed to kill a scoring drive. Most of the impact players from that Cheatham Co. team are gone. This will be a tough game for the Cubs to say the least, but they always play hard-nosed football. Cheatham can match physical play with anyone, but the disparity in the talent is what they are going to have trouble with in this game.

  12. I agree with you. High School sports is about learning lessons. Northside learned they stink. Lesson learned. If that's the worst thing that ever happens to them, they can consider themselves lucky people.

Ok, this will make me highly unpopular, but what the heck. What can you do? Tell your second and third and fourth team (on down to your middle school team if it comes to that) to run their plays, and when the get to the opponent's 10, down the ball four times. They'll hate you for it, because they have worked hard in two a days and want to get some glory too. But maybe, when they're older, they'll realize that they learned some compassion by not generating a nationally broadcast score against a group of young boys (remember, 15, 16, 17, they are still children) whose only sin was to be part of an apparently inept football team.

Or has the idea of high school sports as a place to learn lessons for later in life completely died?

  13. Here are the lyrics to Rocky Top. How exactly do you relate to them?

    Rocky Top

Wish that I was on ole rocky top,

    Down in the tennessee hills.

Ain't no smoggy smoke on rocky top,

    Ain't no telephone bills.

Once there was a girl on rocky top,

Half bear the other half cat.

Wild as a mink, sweet as soda pop,

    I still dream about that.

    Rocky top, you'll always be

    Home sweet home to me.

    Good ole rocky top,

Rocky top tennessee, rocky top tennessee.

Once two strangers climbed on rocky top,

    Lookin' for a moonshine still.

Strangers ain't come back from rocky top,

    Guess they never will.

Corn won't grow at all on rocky top,

    Dirt's too rocky by far.

That's why all the folks on rocky top

Get their corn from a jar.

    Rocky top, you'll always be

    Home sweet home to me.

    Good ole rocky top,

Rocky top tennessee, rocky top tennessee.

Now I've had years of cramped up city life,

Trapped like a duck in a pen.

Now all I know is it's a pity life

    Can't be simple again.

    Rocky top, you'll always be

    Home sweet home to me.

    Good ole rocky top,

Rocky top tennessee, rocky top tennessee.

Thank you! I was hoping I didn't have to post the lyrics on here. Someone is either really sarcastic or needs to brush up on their TN history. Secondly to the person who said they didn't relate to Rocky Top...you're in the minority buddy. Ask someone from another state what our state song is, and most likely they'll say Rocky Top. Case in point- name the state song of Alabama. Sweet Home Alabama is the first thing you think of...but it's not their actual state song - Alabama.

  14. get over it

Do u guys think prepextra is one sided on deciding for players of the week cause i dont believe i have ever saw a player of the week not from knoxville. Then this week Josh Terry had a career game and he still couldnt win it and also the fans all voted for him. I mean Large had a great game but it still didnt look as good on the stat sheet as Josh Terrys. I just want to hear sum of your alls comment on it.

  15. Well you may not post the lyrics, but I will. I'll have trouble finding something I relate to in that song.

  16. The Blount County, Maryville City, and Alcoa City schools have a cable channel that replays some their athletic events.

Do other school systems in the state of Tennessee have the same opportunity?

We do not have it here for the Sevier County Schools.

Isn't it the Iowa Public Television netwok that televises so many college matches? WHat do we need to do to get the PBS Networks on our area to do the same? I know it would come down to $, but couldn't they televise the same matches that the Iowa stations do, and throughout the program ask for donations for the station?

Now there is a thought! What a great way to help market our sport!

I hear that WWE gives out grants for the promotion of its sport among high school athletics. Visit their website to get info on this.

  17. There is a big difference between our SPORT of WRESTLING and the play acting that is done of the WWE. Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle are wrestlers, some say former, who use acting as a way to earn a very good living.

No, most of those guys were not high school wrestlers. Yes, Lesnar, Angle, and Ric Flair have an amateur wrestling background, but a gross majority do not. There are more of them that have a football background than wrestling.

If you enjoy watching the WWE, good. I wish I could turn the TV on twice a week and watch: UTC, Iowa, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Illinios, ...

Why do you distance yourself from the thing that can bring you r sport the popularity it wants? if i was you i'd welcome all the attention i could get

  18.

Marketing: On a higher level, Pro/College Football, Basketball, Baseball, Golf, Tennis, Bowling, all these sports have major events that are broadcast on TV. Bowl Games, Playoffs, Super Bowl, World Series, College World Series, the Masters, US Open, etc. Millions of parents and children watch these athletes, and many of them aspire to do what those athletes are doing on TV.

How can you say wrestling isn't promoted on TV. I have heard many people say that Vince McMahon is one of the greatest promoters of all times. Twice a week wrestling is on in my house!! I know it's a little different from high school wrestling, but you know most of those guys were wrestlers back in high school, like kurt angle and brock lesnar!!
