  1. To the sofball community...

     

    Please offer your personal thoughts and prayers to MTSU had coach Jeff Breeden, his wife Debbie "Moe" passed away yesterday.

     

    I became friends with Moe during my years at Coffee County Central. Moe was such a passionate supporter of Jeff's softball teams at CCHS and Riverdale HS . Moe was also in the stands cheering on each schools football squads too. Jeff had also spent many of his high school years as an assistant at both schools & also serving as the Red Raiders head football coach for several seasons as well.

     

    I know the girls Jeff had coached loved her as much as they loved & respected playing for him. I will miss seeing Moe at the ballfield but I know she will be watching the Blue Raiders from above.

     

    My prayers & condolences are extended to my friend Jeff Breeden and their families and friends.

  2. Independence HS is looking to schedule 10 single games, 5 home & home series, or a combo of both. Besides most Tuesday's & Thursday's (District 11-3A game dates) and March 20 & April 17, we have many dates.

    By the way, 840 will be completed by then (November 2 to be exact) so traveling to & from I-40 to get to IHS will be very easy for the upcoming season.

  3. Beech starts to defend the 2011 State title tomorrow...the Lady Buc's are ready.

     

    Nice edit job woody1...Beech is out after a fantastic season. Lost to Coffee County last night (a little pay back from the 2000 AAA semi-finals) and they lost 2-1 today to Daniel Boone in an elimination game.

  4. Yesterday's district 11-3A matchup was called in the bottom of the 4th with Ravenwoood leading Independence 2-1. The game will begin from the start, 0-0 1st inning on Monday, April 30th at 4:30 pm at IHS.

     

     

    Ravenwood scores 3 in the top of the 7th to break a 1-1 tie and withstands an Indy comeback in the bottom of the 7th to win 4-3.

     

    Ravenwood now stands alone at the top of district 11-3A at 8-0 with 2 games remaining. IHS is at 7-2 with 1 district game left.

     

    11-3A tournament is set for Fly Park in Franklin from May 7-10

    I guess this is an open forum so everyone is entitled to their opinions/posts etc. What I'd like to know is if you have ever played, coached, if so where and how old you are? I'm not asking for a name. It is pretty easy to bad mouth. I suggest that you and all other bashers read President Theodore Roosevelt's quotation found below...

  6. a win is a win is still a win, indy will take it anyway they can...

     

    Still saying that i am still not sold on INDY or its coaching staff - many questions will be answered next week

     

    Kevin Dyson, Red Roberts, and Indy's D coordinator from the '08 5A runner-up (Coach Bobby..., his last name escapes me) & you are questioning the staff??? Add in the other assistants & I would put IHS's staff up against every TN team. The talent may not be there as it was in the past years, but they get the boys to play hard & aggressive. If they can stay in the games on the defensive side they may (and as seen tonight) will find ways to beat better athletes. Great job IHS foootball staff & players.

    Fridays schedule at Independence HS

     

    5 pm Ravenwood vs Independence - loser eliminated

     

    7 pm Brentwood vs RHS/IHS winner

  9. Independence travels to Ravenwood with the regular season & district tourney #1 seed on the line. Both are 8-1 in district play with Indy taking the first game between the two (4-3) back in mid April. It is senior night at RHS as well.

    Pretty good & competitive game & as always a great atmosphere that the IHS girls got to experience for the 1st time. Coffee County is pretty strong (& young) across the board.

  11. Independence HS is looking for 1 pre-season scrimmage vs public or private for the upcoming season. IHS will be willing to travel up to 30 minutes or so (Nashville, M'boro) All dates are open except for February 27th (play-day)
